God says: "Whatever your background and whatever the journey ahead of you, none can escape the orchestration and arrangement that Heaven has in store, and none are in control of their destiny, for only He who rules over all things is capable of such work."

Interesting; so who is being quoted here? :)

It is rare (and good) to see someone write their absorbed understanding of God... rather than just quoting some isolated Scriptures an Ancient author wrote down. (I think a lot of us actually believe Jesus, Peter, and Paul really did read from the KJV... and spoke in "Thee's" and "Thou's.")

God has not predetermined all that happens, man is in control of his own eternal destiny.

God says:"... and none are in control of their destiny, for only He
who rules over all things is capable of such work."
Now THIS is some statement that could be discussed, LOL!
Controversial statements are fun on a Forum. :D
See...cuz there would be those that could say they are in control of their destiny...in fact, isn't that what part of this life is all about...
realizing who we are, and what kind of amazing power we have...I mean, we are capable of laying down the
tracks for our life (picture a train)...to then be able to go where we want.
We can have depressing thoughts that lead to a mess of a life...or have constructive wonderful thoughts leading to our Goal. No?
Belief is the power we were given...that is what 'rules', so to speak, that I have found.

Another controversial statement is 'only He' rules...does 'He rule'? Cuz, with respect, I'm no puppet.
Now, when one invites, recognizes, acknowledges, desires God daily to lead them thru their life...it has been
my profound experience He does guide me....to the extent that I have been late and lost following written directions
far outside my city...and He will infuse my mind with 'turn left' (when right is written ) and there is the building!
Give Jesus the wheel....but, we have to deliberately ask and then allow the direction...it is not 'ruling', tho.

What an interesting topic, my friend. :)

There is a Brilliant System set up...sow and reap, what goes around comes around , karma, by whatever name.
God is not 'ruling' us or the situation, that I can see...the System of Cause and Effect takes over; if George is gonna leave
a cigar on a wood counter in a Susan's wood cabin...it will burn down.
God did nothing.
Oh the 100s of example we all could give. God is not mysterious to ME!
He is like clockwork, very simple, very clear, His System is very predictable, to me.
Whether I have an accident in an intersection or I do not...the Power of Intention is a beautiful thing...God doesn't 'rule' that.
My take, my input.

Being "in control of your own destiny", could you save yourself if God had not previously decided to extend the offer of that path? So, just how much are we really in control if that which we accept depends solely upon another for it to happen?
Jesus said "Into YOUR hands I commend my soul". He also, at the same time, asked that His murders be forgiven.... they did not have any control over that forgiveness.

Are we suddenly taking this conversation to pre-Christ? Into the zone of 'What ifs'? I never do 'what ifs'...
Well, only as a teaching tool
with little kids, like about traffic and looking or being smooshed.

...none are in control of their destiny...
This is another attempt to promote Determinism. But it is PATENTLY FALSE.

If God has decreed everything from the very beginning, it makes God responsible for all the sin and evil in this world. Which is pure nonsense.

The Calvinists believe that this undermines the sovereignty of God when it in fact establishes it. God -- in His ABSOLUTE SOVEREIGNTY -- chose to give men and angels free will.

But at the same time He made it clear that the wrong choices would have dire consequences.

And that is why He created Hell for the devil and his angels.

And that is why He gave men the Gospel, so that none would go to Hell.

Much like Jonah, who of his own free will, chose to disobey God and go to Tarshish instead of Nineveh and was punished for that free will choice. Jonah 3:1 the second time God told Jonah to go to Nineveh he chose of his free will to do so knowing there are consequences.
