Agreed.
And it used to be my hobby many years ago.
Have forgotten everything except the really big stuff.
Don't even take pix anymore -- let the young'uns do it!

Wanna see a picture of me now?
Yes please. I love to take photos and bought my digital camera so I'd have a reason to go walking after my dog died.

Is this your town?
No, it's Ironbridge which was a place of importance to the industrial revolution where the first bridge in the world made from iron was constructed. You can Google it to find out more info. This is actual iron bridge built between 1779 and 1781. This is it with my husband.

Very nice. That lone figure on the bridge, and the gentleman walking away from it, add a great deal to the interest of the image. Few people know the boldness and foresight of the engineers who started using metal as structural components. A structure of considerable historical importance.

There's a style of architecture in Italy called Stile Liberty...I'd say from the 30's or 40's.
It very much reminds me of the bridge you posted,,,maybe they copied from the bridge. I wouldn't know but it's interesting.

It made me think of the Eiffel Tower too although the only thing is common is the iron construction.

Interesting pix.

Stile Liberty (check out the windows)

That part of the UK is steeped in history. There are all sorts of 'museums' including a 'living one called Blist's Hill which has a working foundry and a blacksmith and candlemaker. It was a lovely place to visit and learn about the importance of that particular place for the whole of the world. The man is my husband Ray, and the lady on the bridge is my friend Sue. The bridge spans the River Severn.
