Anyone who has never experienced the hold of addiction really needs to fall on their knees and thank God for such a blessing.
I was addicted to cigarettes and stopped, addiction is just a cop out like Enoch said.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness... ALL VISUALIZED IN PORNOGRAPHY (Gal 5:19)

As to using addition as an excuse for any sin, that is purely a cop out. All sins are addictive, so addiction is meaningless.

All sins are not addictive. It is the practice of sin that makes it addictive.

I don't believe you will have any support for this idea in Scripture. Quite the opposite, since it would be another work of the flesh (the sin nature).

I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly don't use the phenomenon of physical behaviors addictions to excuse or tolerate sin.

I'm sure I was quite clear on that.

Much love!

Quite frankly, if we can't comprehend the addictive nature of something, including pornography, then just accept that we don't understand it, and try to keep opinions that we have already admitted we don't understand, to ourself. It is a struggle for many people, and our negative comments about their troubles are not too helpful.

Looking at things in terms of physical addictions can demystify behavioral control issues.

Much love!

1 Peter 1:13-15
(13) Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
(14) As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
(15) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

This word here “fashion” = one other place, “be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”.
Conformed = matching the pattern of something else, not you. transformed = You become diff.
He's telling us to don't let our minds get formed into the pattern that goes with our former lusts.
(12) Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Hebrews 12:11-13
(11) Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
(12) Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
(13) And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

This passage very interestingly seems to speak directly to this issue.

Much love!

I have beaten addictions by fighting hard against them and praying for the Lord to intervene and help me through them.

Pornography is evil in every form, it tempts us and drives us away from God, it is an abomination in the eyes of our Lord.

i no longer struggle from this addiction because i'm willingly doing it no more pain but i will die soon the scripture says to my understanding and it make me depressed whenever i think about it because those innocent sinners will only be the ones to be forgiven and i am not innocent so i think i will not be forgiven but why God's words still bothers me is it because one day i go near God and take a peek and then go my own way did God draw near me because it keeps on reminding me but i keep on ignoring it
