John 3:3,

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

For those that do not see the birthing, "except a man be born again," they will never properly put scripture together. The birthing is key to understanding scripture, and proper interpretation of them. There are those that can prove their point in scripture, the problem with proving points is; without seeing the birthing you will not properly divide and interpret the scriptures. Every good cult you know uses scripture to prove it's point.

So how keystone is the understanding of the birthing! Jesus said in the same verse "he cannot see the kingdom of God," and verse five says you cannot enter the kingdom of God. So the birthing will be the key to knowing and entering the things of God. Why the birthing (born again)? Because God birthed you the moment you believed and that literally cuts through everything that man can read into scripture. So your interpretation is quite secondary to the birthing.

That's hard on most of us because we feel we are chief theologians, and God main scribe. The truth of the matter is God has fixed scripture so it interprets it self, no help from me. Sure they say it contradicts it self and has scripture over runs in places, but most of the nah sayers are not born again. Christians that have that problem haven't seen the birthing as of yet. They could not tell you what happened to them the moment they believed.

So of coarse we interpret that as "oh they are probably not saved at all." No since of scripture, no since of what God did on the cross, and set ourselves up to judge the universe, and we get to start over again. Until you give the scriptures it's proper due, you will go round and round the mountain with your father, there is only one judge, so do yourself a favor and leave that alone.

When you look at the birthing scriptures always look at them as literal, why would I do that? Very simple answer! because they are. Literal birthing, a literal child, a literal son of God comes from a birthing. You know it takes a father to birth a son, and that's what we have now with our Heavenly father, he has literally birthed you to be his child by Christ in you, glory to God.

Born again.
I have seen many wonder at this, but I think Jesus is saying something profound. If Jesus speaks to your heart, He is calling you. If you repent and trust Him, the Holy Spirit has given you life.

When Peter declared Jesus was the Christ, the Father had revealed it to Him. This life given must be walked in to become real and embedded, so we can become mature, knowing God's will and ways, discerning good from evil.

12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

A non christian becoming a Christian is a spiritual mystery, as it is God who motivates the unbeliever into asking questions and it is God who saves not our saying the sinners prayer.

Hi soul man,

You mention something that is very foundational for me, if someone is born again, then God's "got them", and life is assured. And like you say, it's about what God did, and what He does, not what we know about all the finer points of doctrine. Real humility, I think, is to accept as brothers and sisters those who disagree, but not about faith in Jesus, or the work of the cross, and His resurrection.

We're living in a new reality, the spirit-born children of God, and the Bible is our DNA, as it were, so we learn it, we learn who we are, as well as Who our Father is. But only if we learn the Bible, not if we superimpose our ideas onto it.

Much love!

If born of God and a son of God, should we have the power to forgive sins?

Is that idea of "birthing" a new campaign slogan or something? Coining man-made terms out of a simple Scripture doesn't really help to understand the Scripture better. I hate to sound negative, but all it does for me is every time I read your use of 'birthing' it distracts my mind away from the Scripture.

Our Lord Jesus explained His meaning simply in these verses of that Chapter...

John 3:7-8
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Just a term for born again. Born again has been thrown around so much it has lost it's true meaning, every good politician and what nots are born again, to quote them.

Doesn't bother me that a Christian uses the idea of 'born again', because essentially that's what it means, for our spirit that is. It means a change to our spirit by The Holy Spirit through faith on The Father through His Son Jesus Christ.

Born Again

There is something profound in birth. The person born is only aware that they exist not what they are.
This matters because in some peoples minds, being born of the Spirit is like a sudden realisation of being in the Kingdom and knowing everything and being pointed in the right direction.

Look at babies and children. They need love, attention, learning, practise, growth, development, knowing how their bodies function and what all the different abilities they have work and how to use them.

Listen to Jesus.

15 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.
Mark 10

The Kingdom rests on purity and holiness in our hearts. This is not a once off resolution but a walk, not a do or die struggle and if one stumbles end of story, but rather seeing in the light, knowing how things are, and then picking oneself up and walking on.

David and Bathsheba is a clear example of this. What a mess? But God walked with David through this. What matters is not our walk but the why and direction of it. We are a mess because of sin, because of biology, because of circumstance and lack of knowledge or wrong choices. But Jesus comes with a hand and an open heart if we will listen and follow. And if we sow to the Spirit we will reap eternal life.

Obscurity is about handling our failures, and knowing getting up each time makes us stronger.
Love is our focus and reaching the objectives set before us. Paul always walked forward

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,
14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
15 All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.
Phil 3

Romans 12.2 contains the challenge, right?

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Or if they have been born again/born from above, they remain immature babies. A new convert is one thing and an old 'saint' too lazy or careless or complacent in their assurance to eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus is quite another.
