And there you have it from the Catholics...or some...of whom are "led by fallen, fallible humans" instead of the Holy Spirit sent by Jesus according to His promise.The Church is distinctive among institutions in the history of mankind: it is human and yet divine; perfect, yet in need of reform; holy, yet made up of sinners; infallible, yet led by fallen, fallible humans. That’s a hard concept to express to someone outside the Church—sometimes it’s hard for us inside the Church to remember it.
And that is the rift. That is what the Spirit has led men of faith and good conscience to break away from throughout the history of the church.
Nonetheless, I have friends and family whom I love who are Catholic, as do many of us; and I pray that they would be touched by that same Spirit (of the Father) that revealed to Peter that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God; that they to might come to revere and follow only One, and stop considering themselves as exclusive, lest they be excluded. Amen.
