Let me take a vacation from debating with Catholics (for now anyway) to enjoy some Catholic music I love. Let me start with one of my favorite singers performing one of my favorite pieces of music.

Amazing gifts they were given. Their range is unbelievable, to me at least.

Thanks for posting it. Good taste you have there.

This piece is Psalm 51 . . . in Latin, "Have Mercy on Me." This piece at first was allowed to performed only inside the Vatican. Mozart, as a child, heard it and didn't know it wasn't supposed to be performed anywhere else. He heard it once and remembered every note, then went out and performed it. The Pope heard about; and they had a meeting. Little Mozart hadn't meant any offense, and the Pope wasn't angry. So Mozart agreed not to perform it again.

I'm glad they relaxed things so people anywhere can hear it today. There is something about this piece -- with the lower parts suggesting to me men on earth and the really high part suggesting the movement of the Holy Spirit above. The single voice also suggests to me the Unity of God while the choir part suggests the Unity and Harmony of all of God's children. That's how it makes me feel anyway.

Psalm 51:1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

This is another of my favorite pieces of music. The first time I heard this piece, I got frightened when the trumpet blasted out. It's shortly after the three minute mark. So here's Verdi's Dies Irae, from his Requiem Mass.

Ave Maria is Satanic and no Christian should sing or even listen to it!
Words; Hail Mary, Mother of God,
/ Pray for us sinners,
/ Pray, pray for us;
/ Pray, pray for us sinners,'

Mary is not the mother of GOD as GOD has no mother.
Mary is dead in her grave and can do nothing.
Asking Mary to pray for you is the same as trying to contact the dead.

I think ignoring you may be the best course for me to take; and I hope the Catholics here put you on ignore too.

I have been listening to quite a bit of Danielle Rose lately. @Illuminator @theefaith @Mungo @BreadOfLife @Marymog @devin553344 just found this thread again, perhaps there's something you may like to share here.

"I Am The Bread Of Life"
This is a powerful song that I've always loved. There are different versions and some that might even sound better - but I chose this version because it has the original lyrics.

I've asked my wife to have this played ay my funeral, should she outlive me.

Not actually a Catholic hymn, but I love belting this out at the end of the Easter Vigil service. Sadly. because of the pandemic we couldn't do it this year.

That one is a classic.
