Philippians 2:12,

12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Have you ever considered the fact that everything you need is in Christ. The fact is you don't need anything you just think you do. King David said "I desire you more than my necessary food." The desire for God was stronger than the necessities of life. Well brother I need a house a car a roof a job, money to provide those things. You don't need those things, there nice things and the desire for them, but they do not give you life.

You can have all those things and be as dead as last years bird nest, so they are not necessities. Have you come to understand that salvation is a person, and how do you work out your own salvation with fear and trembling? As you are, if Christ is to come out of you it will be through your creation, just as you are. Well! I'm not worthy! Yep that's why there is a cross, we can get out of selfpity now and be the expression we were created to be.

You have a new man, the old man is dead and life expression comes from the new man. So working out your salvation is you figuring out how the Christ in you is going to live through you. You give him a place, you give him your mind, you put a mind to knowing Christ as your life and that life lived as you. Christ cannot live through you without a mind given to him, what did Paul say, be renewed in your mind. Don't be caught up in the the world but be transformed by the renewing of the mind to the Christ that is in you.

You can come at this message a thousand different ways but it ends the same place everytime, Christ in you the hope of glory as your only life. If you still feel the twain have not become one listen to the Spirit in the scriptures, follow Paul as he was given instruction for the born again.

Stop for a moment and listen to him, stop bouncing around in the scriptures and stay with the apostle for awhile, we can learn something from him.

Makes me think of Acts 13:45-46 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. [46] Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

Unbelieving Jews rendered themselves unworthy by rejecting Christ, and thereby rejected the grace of God. Christians believe that they are unworthy of the grace of God, therefore believe that salvation is purely and solely because of the grace of God, and not for any merit of their own. So that is actually two different scenarios.
