2 Chronicle 24:18) And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.2 Chronicle 24:19) Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the LORD; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.For how many centuries has God spoken through the prophets and yet the world to much degree refuses to listen. “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of the hearing of words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.” Now in today’s world we all have one of two choices, to hear the word of the Lord or not to hear the word of the Lord. It is difficult for some to grasp if they try to do both, meaning that they read but don’t apply and still wined up conforming to the worldly ways of darkness, namely sin. Now we are not perfect, but sin can harden our hearts from and will separate us from God. “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” Now does this give us the right to sin or a license to sin, no. We do by the grace of God leaning to him and asking grace need to stay clean, “Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.” Now I am sure that Isaiah was not giving this warning to the people of the current time back then only, but we know that can and is applied directly to today’s time. Ephesians 5:5, Romans 1:29-31, 1 Timothy 1:9-10, and Galatians 5:19-21, certainly describe such type actions that we are restricted from doing, warned and heeded not to do. Now I now further more say that no one is perfect, but can we let that be an excuse to jump into a pool of iniquity which in itself is uncleanness and defilement, I think not! “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the Blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” Doesn’t this sound like a condition, something that we certainly need to stride for and reach for every day. It may require extra prayer time, more time in the word listening to what God is saying, it may even involve a change in the way we conduct ourselves in our lives. Is it easy, no, but is it necessary, yes. To please God in our life it will require sacrifice and discipline. Temperance and the will to endure temptation. “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried: he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” Now can we not endure temptation, yet receive the crown of life, I think not. “The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.” Jesus endured temptation in Matthew 4, so what makes us any different or makes us an exception to endurance, as it is written, “he that endureth unto the end, the same shall be saved.” So it will require effort and steadfastness in truth of God. So got a need, pray it up, need temperance, pray it up, need guidance, pray it up, because we are only going to make it “grace by grace”, depending on God to uphold us because we certainly can not trust in man.
