Romans 6:11,
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
You come to a time and place where the reckoning settles in. When you first start to grasp the knowledge of Christ as your life a reckoning takes place, from you as life to Christ as life. What has happened to you? you see your death, or you see the death of the old man. So you can reckon yourself dead by Christ in you and his cross, and alive unto God by Christ in you. That is the reckoning and it will not over take you, it will come to you in time and you accept it.
When your first born again you do not jump up and say "I am crucified with Christ." You say I'm saved now and me and Jesus (Jesus is just an attachment to your understanding) go our merry way. Some truth in that, you are not supposed to really know what happened to you, it is a gradual learning process. Grace and knowledge are worked into you by the teaching of the HolySpirit. You start to see things in the word, and eventually you come to the reckoning. You know that it is no longer you that does the living.
You know what that meaning? things that have been bothering for years, agitating and getting under your skin fall away because you know now it does not matter. Your controling or lack of controling personality does not matter. You have always wandered how to change, there is your answer. Reckoning is a very powerful work that happens to an individual by the Spirit. It changes everything when it doesnt matter. Concern and not mattering are two different deals, you can be concerned without having to voice your opinion about every little thing that comes down the highway. People and their politics could take a page out of that book, it doesn't matter, is that plain enough. This world is going rock along with or without you. This world will be here until the Lord is done doing what he created all things for.
So we can relax and quite trying to solve all the worlds problems every moment of every day. Major distraction, if you have an opinion then vote it, speak there. In the mean time read your Proverbs and learn to be slow to speak, ponder things. Just because we live in this world doesn't mean we act like the world. It does not matter.
