Saturday 11-23-19, Cheshvan 25, 5780 7th. day of the weekly cycle, 62nd. Fall day,

Philippians Four:6-9 New King James Version (NKJV) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Meditate on These Things
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and I)' the God of peace will be with you.

Love always, Walter

Thanks for posting this!

During most of my youth, I had experienced a lot of anxiety. When I got saved in college, I remember reading these verses in Philippians about anxiety and wondering if God understood my emotions, lol. I had majored in psychology because I thought that it held the key to understanding emotions and fixing life's problems. Boy, was I wrong! As I began to read the Bible, I saw that the concepts I was learning in my psychology classes clearly contradicted God's Word.

These verses in Philippians became my lifeboat. I memorized them by reading them so many times every day (even before I heard that we were supposed to memorize scripture). That was a looooong time ago, but to this day, I can quote Phil. 4:6-8 almost without thinking.

Toward the end of my years in college, God delivered me from the plague of anxiety and panic attacks through a prayer that is based on His Word. It's called the Warfare Prayer and can be found at this site: Spiritual Warfare Prayer | Cru

Love the post 1st,
It has taken me decades to under His peace that surpasses all understanding but...He has brought me there and it is so awesome...fret not, be anxious for NOTHING...to me it all boils down to trust and real faith to believe exactly what He tells us. How awesome it is to have let go of so many things that always had me on edge, and constant worry! Pretty awesome once we "get it".

I think this is a subject that can be, or even needs to be posted OFTEN.

I used to have all the peace, fear not, and anxiety verses on the walls of our house!! I needed them as a frontlet before my eyes.

Thankfully that was many years ago and I came into peace which overcame the fear.
I think fear ( as we know, a spirit..."He hath not given us a spirit of fear, but..." ) will dog our steps to the last breath....and we know where it comes from.....dark, thick and suffocating as it tries to strangle the life out of us.

Talking of 'that last breath'. When my time comes I hope that I have brain enough to remember a vivid dream I had one time...
I was walking down a sloping dark tunnel.....( just room for one) no one in front of me and no one behind... I was alone as I walked.

But, I was amazed that even though it was dark and I had no idea where the end was... I said to myself - "Oh this is okay...I know this , it is just the valley of the shadow of death..." As I thought that thought...I could see the end of the tunnel... and clear blue sky.... :)

Luke 12:32 "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."

Amen Nancy, It is a good feeling all together inside working out to salvation, but to keep that, to me is life eternal with Christ. :)

Amen, a clear blue sky, and the scripture is fitting. :)

"Whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil."

"LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. - He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. - His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. "

"Your life is hid with Christ in God. - He that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. - Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear.

"Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. - Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see ; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. - I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. I love these verses! And they always seem so timely as well! They just remind me that in Christ, when I come to him, even if I cannot see or understand, I have peace and rest and always something to be thankful for! And if that's not something to lift the spirits and calm the anxiety, then I doubt anything will!
