I believe "love one another" is the core of Christianity. The word "love" is being repeated tons of times through out the Bible both New and Old Testaments."Love" is so complicated that only God can give us wisdom and discernment to love one another.I believe God will give us discernment how to do it if we love our God, YHWH, and Jesus with all our heart, soul, strength and mind which means to serve Him with all our might.Thank you

John 13:34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.John 13:35By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. If you really think about it, loving one another sets the basis for all of the commandments as they should follow suit: listening to your parents, loving God by having no others gods, not killing, etc.Hosea 6:6For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. That's all he asked for all along.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."This if very well known verse and also profound.God wants to reach out to spread His love to everyone including our enemy and not just our friends and our own countries.

He also loved enough to sacrafice his only son for us should we love him less that we are not willing to sacrafice our sons against those that hate his love that spit upon his words/laws?

I believe Jesus' love is we don't kill our enemy in exchang to protect our faimily and courtry. It is not sacirficial love at all any more; this kind of love is this world is practicing. Anyone can kill and be killed easily for our friends, family and country.

Faithful1,This is a profound verse, but it has a qualifier. I would like to ask you and others a question about it. The part I want to ask about is the phrase, "that whosoever believeth in him" Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. What is it about Him we need to "believe in"? (I do know the answer, by the way)

According to the Bible and Jesus we have to accept Jesus as Son of God and Savior of the world and without Him no one can enter into God's kingdom. That's why Jesus is commanding His followers to spread this message.

I guess we can be thankful God dosen't think the same as you or we would all be lost. And there would have never been a Jesus to open the door.I didnt intend this to sound rude just the fact.

Jesus tells us to be the salt and light of the world. If we are just like the world we will never be salt and light. We need to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind. This is a powerful commandment from the Lord.

You are right I guess it all comes down to your defination of love.True love is not always easy nor is it about doing just what is easy or is it without sacrafice. It reminds me of something I've always adhered to that the actress Carol Burrnett said once when she forced her daughter into drug rehab Her daughter yelled at her that rehab was going to kill her and she would always hate her mother for forcing her into it and Caroll told her daughter quote "thats O.K. because I love you enough to let you hate me"Even though it broke her heart to hear those words from her daughter she had to what was best for her. Sometimes love means sending someone you love into the lions den,and trusting that God will be thier when they need him.By the way her daughter loved her more in the end for what she did for herto quote her daughter years later I thought she was sending me to my death instead she saved my life. I wonder how many young men and women were brought to God in time of war and in thinking they were going to die found life in the Lord. As I heard from a vet. once say there are no athiests in fox holes

Reaching out to the lost souls is the most difficult task. Without being faithful servants in every way by reading the Bible daily, it is imposible to do it. I believe without whole hearted committment to God He will not give us the heart of evangelism and wisdom to reach out to them.According to the evangelist Ray comfort, only less than 2% of churchgoers are evangelizing.

Who is evangelist Ray?Secondly, should we love our enemies more then we love our loved ones? When our children misbehave, aren't they punished? There truly is such a thing as " tough love"; God uses it all thru the Bible; new Testament and old.

Jesus says "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back."

Jesus said: "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of Me. And anyone who does not take his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me."

Isn't it true that many of the nations that fought in two major world wars against each other said to be Christian nations? But if they were truly christian nations, would they truly have fought one another? Is going to war with one another the way christian nations are to act toward one another when it comes to loving one another? I honestly don't think a true christian would have been in a fox hole in the first place.
