Joel 1:15) Alas for the day! For the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.(Matthew 23:37) “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!” This statement can be said about every nation that has turned its back on the Lord. Who has patiently waited, hoping that the nations would turn from their evil ways. O how many times would people not hearken to the word of the Lord! Listen, the world is going in the wrong direction, filled with death and destruction, it’s bound to fail. Doomed and appointed to wrath (2 Peter 3:7) “reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men” and (Romans 1:18) “against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness”. This we know because of revelation and everything must come to pass so why should we be part of that world that is about to crumble and collapse? (2 Corinthians 6:17) “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” Now can’t this also mean the inverse, touch something unclean and I won’t receive you, the warning of God’s word. A promise to receive, but only if we touch nothing unclean, so what is unclean? Gambling, sex(unmarried), lasciviousness, and every work of the flesh, yep. Is it anything that we put in place of our affection for God, yes. You are either with God or the world, the ship is sinking and God is our protector, but only if we put him first in our lives because an idolater certainly does not abide in him, nor the defiled. Only those few in Sardis who did not defile their garments walked worthy of the Lord and the rest didn’t. This world is full of dirt and spiritual uncleanness. Spiritually speaking, the world is filthy, just waiting for and has defiled many because of ignorance, slothfulness, and idleness spiritually. (Proverbs 19:15) “an idle soul shall suffer hunger” and this is something people fail to take to heart, absorbing knowledge of every kind but that which will save the soul, (Hosea 4:6) “because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee”, listen the world is a malicious pool of iniquity, sin, and vanity. My people, (Hebrews 3:15) “To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness”. This world to us is the wilderness, filled with temptation of every kind just waiting to devour and consume the soul of any and all whom it may. We are called to obedience, justified by the blood of the Lord, to flee from evil, sin, and iniquity, but by no means live in it presumptuously. This is the grave err thought in many churches and places, patronizing the hearer, tickling the ears when a person is tricked, conned, and deceived into think they can be carnally minded and still make it to heaven. Open your eyes and see the truth, (Romans 8:6) “for to be carnally minded is death”. It is a mark that many choose not to get rid of and cast away. Reaching for spirituality, to walk in the Spirit, that is key, (Galatians 5:16) “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” Now in order to walk in the Spirit we are going to have to take and make time, even extra time praying especially, which many sadly don’t get enough of and need more of, and we are going to need to spend some more time in his word, seeking diligently, and certainly at the same time avoid conforming to the ways of this world because the ways of this world are hell bound and we know it. As the love of the world continues to get colder and colder, waxing worse and worse, what direction do you think it is going in because it certainly is not marching toward God and reaching for righteousness. But sadly the world chooses iniquity and heads for destruction so we must be separate in our moral conduct, in our actions, and in our speech because God is watching!
