Deuteronomy 8:2) And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.Now none of us are justified under the law, nor are we required to keep it for it was nailed to the cross with Christ because under the law all men are condemned and none are justified, but does this excuse us from obeying the Lord our God, I think not. Can a child of God be in ranks of disobedience, immorality, and all sorts of evil? (2 Timothy 2:19) “Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (2 Timothy 2:19) “the foundation of God standeth sure” and (2 Timothy 2:19) “The Lord knoweth them that are his” and as his sheep, the sheep of his pasture, can we stand on a foundation of iniquity and stand with the Lord? I think not seeing that the workers of iniquity shall perish. (1 Corinthians 10:21) ”Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.” Listen, in a world of darkness, filled with lust, works of the flesh, and a ses pool of evil, can we walk in it being conformed to its ways and still be cleansed by the Lord’s blood, I think not! (Psalm 36:9) “for with thee is the fountain of life, in thy light shall we see light” and (1 John 1:6-7) “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” Now can the inverse say something to us, that if we walk in darkness or do not walk in the light, then his blood will not cleanse us from all sin, yes so (Psalm 7:9) “the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins” of every man, women, and child(accountable aged child). If one submits to darkness, can one be cleansed of that which they choose not to let go, I think not. This world is one big test that we have to endure if we want eternal life, and make no mistake about it, darkness and the sinful way will keep one back, while we are not perfect, why as children of God should we submit to the ways of this wilderness, lest we get killed spiritually speaking and become departed from God. We have to walk in our faith and not just have faith because faith alone is dead and is our faith based on a foundation of disobedience, I think not. We are manifested to a holy calling of living and this world will do all it can to tear us from that concept and that mentality of righteous character that God wants of us. Can we give in to temptation and still get the crown of life? Can we live sinful and wickedly and still please God, I think not. So we must stride prayerfully and with all humility of mind to live pleasing unto God because this life is short but the eternal life promised through Christ Jesus to those that obey and do his will is eternal. Can one choose life and death? (Jeremiah 21:8) “Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.” Manifestly seen are two choices, (Deuteronomy 30:15-16) “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. ” Notice that Israel’s prosperity was determined by obedience, the works of their hands, their actions and how they followed God. Notice that every King that did not have obedience to God failed and did not prosper, that those that chose evil from the days of Cain and up did not prosper, from Noah’s day with the flood, to Sodom and Gomorrah all the way up to the destruction of Jerusalem and Judah (in book of Jeremiah), and do we think that we can prosper under the new covenant of Christ Jesus without obedience and abstaining from idols derived from worldly pleasures and lust, I think not. We are under allegiance to a strict God who does care for us and wants obedience, no, commands obedience of us, it is not optional, not if we want to escape the world, its pollutions, and its venom which will come to nought and be destroyed.
