http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2255989.eceThe site lies 620 miles off the west coast of Africa near the Canary Islands — a location for Atlantis seemingly suggested by the ancient philosopher Plato. He believed it was an island civilisation sunk by an earthquake and floods around 9,700BC — nearly 12,000 years ago. The “grid” showed up on Google Ocean, a Google Earth extension that uses a combination of satellite images and marine surveys. Last night Dr Charles Orser, curator of historical archaeology at New York State University — and one of the world’s leading authorities on Atlantis — called it “fascinating”.

Well I find it interesting that it is a sort of square shape, suggesting civilised thought, however it could be a natural phenomonem caused by say... God?The main problem I have is that it is TO square, if it were Atlantis it should be more scattered surely.I suppose it could be atlantis however I sincerly doubt that it is, I am sure someone will probably go down and investigate though.... Though I have to say it is impressive the seemily square lining of the 'structure' does look like a metropolis, however I am going to stick with my first statement that the site is TO organised

Well I suppose at some point we will find out, if it turns out to be Atlantis I will admit I am wrong but at the moment I can't agree it is.

I agree it could be anything or nothing people will always assume any thing found under the Ocean is Atlantis everyone wants to be the one that solved one of the biggest mysteries of the ages

Yeah exactly, however if it turns out to be Atlantis someone will be very very rich. To be honest though I still stick with the fact that it is TO square it is to obvious to be real surely.

Hey, it doesn't have to even be the real Atlantis for someone to make a bundle off of it. Not if they take a few lessons from Ron Wyatt who made a killing from his claims that he found the Ark of the Covenant. Claims which have been proven false by his own legacy organization . I mean, he had us all jumping with his blodd sample that supposedly only contained one strand of chromosome alleles. Or how about that christian dude that was on Marlin Maddox's radio show 20 years ago who claimed that we had secret oil reserves in Alaska that surpassed the ones in Saudi Arabia? Does any body remember the engine that supposedly got over 400 miles to a gallon of gas? I put this one as the same shelf as those.

I never thought about it that way, as long as only the people who investigate are the ones who see it they can claim it is whatever the hell they want can't they?So I suppose they can just claim something even if it isn't true, and make a bundle out of it...
