Hi everybody,I am going through a difficult pried in my personal and professional life.A friend recommended me to light a candle through a internet service in the holy Church of sepulcher in Jerusalem.My question is: do you think it is some thing that can help?

Hi Jera,sorry to hear about you having a hard time - but this can be also the opportunity to make changes and ask the only person for help who can really help you - that is Jesus Christ who is with God and who knows you and your sorrows. Please talk to Him and tell Him how you feel and that you want to trust Him even if you dont know Him yet. Its a try, wont cost you much

Hi Jera, Lighting a candle is just a symbolic gesture and may help you to feel better but dosn't do anything else. You need to go to source that can really help you through your hard time and that is praying to God. He really does hear you and He wants you to bring your troubles to him.

Lighting a Candle is as Tuibird just a symbol, however it can be a symbol of God, after all God/Jesus is the light of the world. Even if you aren't a Christian maybe you could try thinking about your life and analysing all the bad and good that is in it and maybe think about offering yourself to God. However I will tell you this, a lot of the time being a Christian doesn't make things easier but when you are in a difficult period you can rely on God to help you through it rather than just trying to stumble your way 'through the darkness' on your own. Consider what I just said about the candle being a symbol of God, if you are walking down a dark street you can't see anything, but if you hold a candle the street is so much lighter. In the same way hard times in a persons life are the darkness, you can't see anything you can't see the end, but if you have a candle you have hope in God that he will bring you through and he can maybe help you see an end to your pain.

You must solve your own problems. There is no magical solution and they will not miraculously disappear, even for devout Christians. God never promised that life would be easy. He just promises to be by our side all of the way.Most of the time we make our problems bigger than they are because we give undue importance to the wrong things. We are too attached to material possessions and personal success. God cannot help people who try to hold back and only want God to meet their needs as they perceive it. God is interested in the whole you. You need to come to him withholding nothing and with openness. That is difficult for many people which is why so many people are unhappy. They have God in a box and pull him out like a genie in a bottle as needed and that does not work any better than lighting candles.
