examples are sparse, but imo yes
That gate is much straiter and narrower than many people seem to believe... or so I believe...LOL
The problem for any person, who is Not already such an overcomer, is that his vision of the things of God remains blurred or as through a glass darkly. Perhaps we have met one or more today, but with our own impaired eyesight we did not recognize what we were seeing.

Yeah well, the dog is still alive and he will escape his chain again at some point.
it doesnt seem rather odd to you to be both expecting a marriage feast and a future catastrophe, sbg?

esp when the more likely catastrophe is all of the bombs they have exploded since wwii
note video

so try and understand why this future catastrophe stuff strikes me as disconnected ok sorry

a selfless act that happens to become transcendent might be committed by almost anyone imo, with some quals i guesss :)

Even so! Almost anyone, who is not what I would call a complete reprobate [guilty of unforgivable sin] can look very good for the moment because for the moment they were "perfect", but then they moved on for however so short a time without God...

well, seems like sin and transgression are often opinions imo, perceptions not keen to overlook a matter, say; the same way what are often considered later as selfless acts might become icons, via ppls perceptions. weird
People do mix what they receive/perceive from God with what they receive/perceive from elsewhere. They are spiritual mixtures. This is like the Samaritans in the time Jesus walked through there with a bit from Moses and a bit from the pagans with whom they dwelt. How clean are we? How clean can we get?

"For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion." Joel 3:21

@stunnedbygrace.
Greeting, I have been peeking in on your topic a bit, but was a little tied up on another topic. but if you don't mind I like to make a few comments on you subject, which Kinda ties into the Revelation 11 topic.

I'll Have to post this in three post, a bit long but worth your read I hope.

"What is the Marriage Supper of the Lamb"

To understand this marriage supper, we must understand the whole marriage ceremony.

There are three stages or steps to a Wedding Marriage.

1.The first stage, the contract: a marriage contract was signed by the parents of the bride and the bridegroom, and the parents of the bridegroom or the bridegroom himself would pay a dowry to the bride or her parents. This is called the betrothal, or what we call the engagement.

2.The second stage in the Marriage usually occurred later, when the bridegroom, accompanied by his male friends, goes to the house of the bride at midnight, creating a torchlight parade through the streets. This custom is the basis of the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1–13, here he, Jesus, takes his bride to his Father’s house. (which we'll explain in Post #2).

3.The third and final stage is the marriage supper. This happen after the second coming, and the 1,000 years, or one day begins.

So, let’s break it all down, and look at every stage or step in the wedding Marriage and see how it fits to the written record of the bible. take note of all the things that has happen already, (which we will reveal as we go on). some of these things which will be a surprise to some, and maybe not others.

But this wedding feast/supper is the last stage or step in the coming of the Lord. The scripture must be LINE UPON LINE AND PRECEPT UPON PRECEPT, HERE A LITTLE AND THERE A LITTLE, (see Isaiah 28:9-13). let’s began.

STAGE #1. a marriage contract was signed by the parents of the bride and the bridegroom, as said, the parents of the bridegroom or the bridegroom himself would pay a dowry to the bride or her parents.

A.The contract. Jeremiah 31:31 "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah" (so what do the contract contains?)

Jeremiah 31:32 "Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

Jeremiah 31:33 "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Jeremiah 31:34 "And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more”. WHAT A CONTRACT, ONE NEEDS TO READ VERSE 34 AGAIN.

B. The dowry paid: Our Lord paid that dowry with his own blood on the cross. Supportive scripture,
1 Corinthians 6:17 "But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:18 "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

1 Corinthians 6:19 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Corinthians 6:20 "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

The Contract signed: BY “HIS DEATH”. Hebrews 9:15 "And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Hebrews 9:16 "For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

Hebrews 9:17 "For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

Hebrews 9:18 "Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

Hebrews 9:19 "For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

Hebrews 9:20 "Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

Hebrews 9:21 "Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

Hebrews 9:22 "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

So the Contract is made and signed.

NEXT UP pOST #2.

Stage #2. The bridegroom is accompanied by his male friends, goes to the house of the bride at midnight, creating a torchlight parade through the streets. Then he takes his bride to his Father’s house.

The bridegroom comes. “The Day of Pentecost”. this is what ment in THE PARABLE OF THE TEN VIRGINS REVEALED. scripture, Matthew 16:28 "Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom”. not coming for the final Judgment, nor a coming to “RAPTURE” the church out of this world, or anyone else out. For our Lord prayed that none be taken out, Scripture. John 17:15 "I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil”. so the church is COMFORTED, hence the “comforter” has come. this is based on OT of a Husband Comforting his wife of anew. Deuteronomy 24:5 "When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken”. so, all those that think that the parable of the ten virgins is the rapture of the church, NO. it is the Parable of his coming of Pentecost when the bridegroom comes in Spirit and give gifts to his bride. Other words, just as Abraham gave gifts to the wife, and her parents for his son Isaac. THIS IS THE TWO FOLD RETURN I BEEN TEACHING ABOUT ALL ALONG.
JESUS came in the manifestation of the Spirit. supportive scripture, John 14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

John 14:17 "Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:18 "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you". and he did on the day of pentecost in manifestation of the Spiritual Gifts.

A.The Bride that is ready: And when the bride came to the “Fathers house, this as is now, is the Getting to know, OR THE GETTING READY STAGE of the Bride. knowing the love his family. As the father dwell in us we learn to Love one another. And this coming to the Father house is clearly seen in the record of John. Scripture, John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many mansions: (HOLD IT, HIS FATHER’S HOUSE? YES). if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you”. (WHICH IS HIS OWN HOUSE, WHEN THE KINGDOM IS DELIEVERED UP) that’s at his second coming in appearance, the NEW JERSALUM which come down from Heaven, listen,
John 14:3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, (the place is in the Spiritual Body, that is to come. For we must put off these garment, for the New ones), I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Now, let’s understand the Father’s house.

The Fathers House Is where the Bridegroom takes his Bride. understand. John 14:20 "At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you”.

House here in John 14:2 is, G3614 οἰκία oikia (oi-kiy'-a) n.
1. (properly, abstractly) a residence.
2. (usually, concretely) an abode.
3. (by implication) a family (especially domestics).
{literally or figuratively}
[from G3624]
KJV: home, house(-hold)
Root(s): G3624

Take note of definition #2. Concretely an abode, meaning now in us. Notice the “abode” there.
Now the part, “are many mansions“

Mansion: here is the Greek word, G3438 μονή mone (mo-nee') adj.
a staying, i.e. residence (the act or the place).
[from G3306]
KJV: abode, mansion
Root(s): G3306

See how the KJV can translate this word ….. “Abode”, BINGO, Now let’s see this abode.

John 14:21 "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 14:22 "Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

John 14:23 "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Abode here is the same Greek word. G3438 Mansion, again, John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you”.

can we further back up this scene at Pentecost with the other happening in the wedding marriage? Yes.

The bridegroom and his male friends, goes to the house of the bride at midnight, creating a torchlight parade through the streets.
Ok, what happen on the day of Pentecost? Lets see, Acts 2:2 "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Acts 2:3 "And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them”.

There is your “torchlight parade” at midnight, and here on Pentecost at mid morning. The cloven tongues like as of “fire”. And his friends are those who was filled of the Spirit. this midnight parade was a celebration, as was on the Day of Pentecost, when they was mistake to be drunken of new wine. scripture, Acts 2:5 "And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

Acts 2:6 "Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

Acts 2:12 "And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

Acts 2:13 "Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Acts 2:14 "But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

Acts 2:15 "For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

Acts 2:16 "But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

See how the bible just come together when the truth is revealed. How many had an idea that what Joel prophesy about is what the Lord Jesus spake of as in a parable, happen on the Day of Pentecost.

This two-fold return of the Lord Jesus before his Parousia in flesh is what I been teaching. This second coming of the Lord is a “Spiritual” one, a Manifestation of the wedding gifts. Many Learned scholars, including “got question”.com say that the ten virgin parable is the final and last second coming as said before, the Learned and the unlearned are in the same boat, we all need the teaching of the Holy Spirit. There is nothing wrong with an education, just don’t put it before God.. now the second, “Appearing”, and not now this “manifestation”, Supportive scripture, Hebrews 9:28 "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation”.

On the day of Pentecost he didn’t “appear”, not in bodily form which is yet to happen, but “Manifested” in the Spiritual Gifts. And these gifts are for us today, Acts 2:39 "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call”.

The Parable of the TEN Virgins. Is the coming of the Holy Spirit or the Bridegroom. No of the JUDGE, no, and NOT a coming for a rapture of the church, but to give gifts to his bride. Where she can be decked out in Righteousness.

John 14:23 "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him”. the Father’s House has always been right before our eyes, but yet no see it.

C.THE DOOR SHUT in the parable of the Ten Virgin, and why. The door as in what or may we say “WHO” is the DOOR? John chapter 10, “I AM the door” when is the door shut? John 10:1 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
John 10:2 "But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. (if you come with any wind of false doctrine is not of God. This is confirmed of the man with the wrong clothing on at the wedding, Matthew 22:11 "And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: (NOT RIGHTEOUS)

Matthew 22:12 "And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

Matthew 22:13 "Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 22:14 "For many are called, but few are chosen.

So the ten virgins setting is not in Heaven but here on earth.

STAGE #3. “the Wedding Supper”. AFTER THE COMING OF THE LORD.

Revelation 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Revelation 21:2 "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Revelation 21:3 "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 21:5 "And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

What is the “Holy City”. short answer, our new bodies. And we can prove it.

Revelation 19:7 "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Revelation 19:8 "And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
Revelation 19:9 "And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

SO WHO IS THE LAMB WIFE?
Revelation 21:8 "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Revelation 21:9 "And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

Revelation 21:10 "And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, BINGO.

Who is this CITY? The WHOLE CHURCH, multitudes of people, from the OT and the NT. Lets understand.
Revelation 3:10 "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Revelation 3:11 "Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Revelation 3:12 "Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Revelation 3:13 "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

(STOP AND THINK), how can someone be a pillar in this city temple, or how can someones be the foundation of the city, answer, the NEW JERUSALEM WHICH IS physical BUT POWERED BY THE SPIRIT. For our new bodies are flesh and bone without blood, (see Ezekiel 37, and Luke 24:39). when our Lord returns our NEW BODY a NEW BRIDE he receives without spot or wrinkle, the NEW JERUSALEM which we are made Pillars, foundations, and walls, and gates. The habitation or the Joining of God, “HEAD” with his “Body”, the church. supportive scriptures,
1 Corinthians 15:42 "So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

1 Corinthians 15:43 "It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

1 Corinthians 15:44 "It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

Revelation 21:5 "And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful”.

Christ Jesus is the FRIST FRUIT, (the NEW BODY), then (his Body) the Gathering togather of us all. that City, the NEW CITY,
Hebrews 11:8 "By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

Hebrews 11:9 "By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

Hebrews 11:10 "For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

THE DOOR IS CLOSING, our brother T.D. Jakes preached a household sermon some years ago entitled, “Get Ready, Get Ready, Get Ready”, which stage we’re in now.

There is only ONE FINAL STAGE LEFT.

No...I don't think it strikes me as odd...
It strikes me as sort of the same as removing Noah to safety before Gods wrath and judgement or the removing of Lot before wrath and judgement.

HI SBG, God did not remove Noah, he just removed the wicked from off the face of the earth. the same instrument that removed the wicked, saved Noah and his Family.

now to us, and example is in the OT. the three Hebrew boys. God did not remove the boys out of the fire, but saves then while in the fire.

He removed Noah to a place of safety above the flood of judgement when the rest died.

He removed Lot to another location when the judgement wasn't worldwide.

a Move is fine, but it's not a rapture, leaving the earth. for no man of flesh and blood have left the planet at all. NO ONE.

And there is an odd dream that a lot have had. It involves being somewhere high up and watching great disaster below.

Enoch.
Elijah.
Excellent question, this is what bible study is all about.
first Enoch, scripture,
Hebrews 11:5 "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God".

now if you keep on reading,
Hebrews 11:13 "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth".

YES, "These all died in faith" including Enoch, and Elijah, who was "TRANSPORTED", or moved.and if you read the books of Kings you will see that this was not the first time Elijah was "TRANSPORTED".

understand, the word "translate" means "TRANSPORT",
G3346 μετατίθημι metatithemi (me-ta-tiy'-thee-miy) v.
1. to transfer.
2. (literally) to transport.
3. (by implication) to exchange.
4. (reflexively) to change sides.
5. (figuratively) to pervert.
[from G3326 and G5087]
KJV: carry over, change, remove, translate, turn
Root(s): G3326, G5087

Just as Enoch, and Elijah was moved or TRANSported to another place on the planet, to save their live. likewise the NT have a good example of this. when Philip baptize the Ethiopian Eunuch, lets pick up the action, Acts 8:39 "And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

Acts 8:40 "But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea".

see the term Philip was moved but did not leave the planet.

I suggest you google some good articles on this transporting of Enoch, and Elijah, as well as here in the NT of Philip.

so no, they all died as Hebrews 11:13 states. hoped this help.

And actually, bringing up Enoch and Elijah, it says it is given to man once to die and then the judgement. This would seem to not apply to 2 men because they didn't die but were taken up.

However, if they are the 2 witnesses in Rev, they will die for 3 days, making that verse then true for ALL men.

Which then brings Lazarus to mind. Did Lazarus die again...? That would make him a man of which it was required to die physically twice.
