I am scheduled for dental surgery on the Jan 30th. An old crown came out after who knows how many years leaving the old roots in place. I would be ready for that but now my wife and I have contracted the flu. I doubt the dentist will cut on me while I am hacking [coughing] and have a sore throat.

Keep us in prayer.

Oh John I am so sorry to hear that...yes will be praying for both the flu germs to die and the dental trip...neither one is my favourite activity to be doing.

Love and prayers to you both.
May angels be in attendance " ministering to the heirs of salvation"... ♥︎

Well enough, thank you! The flu symptoms are causing me problems sleeping, but hopefully things, God willing, will soon improve. My wife's for a change were not as bad as mine and she is doing well indeed.

The dental appt fell through because they no longer accept our insurance. I have a new appt on Monday with another oral surgeon, but it is only for evaluation. If it works out hopefully I will have a new appointment. The tooth doesn't bother me at all, except that there is a gap where the old crown came out. The danger they say is from infection later on. Of course they all want me to have something new put into the hole, but my own dentist says it is not necessary, once the roots are gone. Since we would be paying what the insurance would not, which is still more than we have, I won't have it done. Even if I were concerned about looks, which I am not, it cannot easily seen, as it is not in the front. LOL

Thanks to all for the prayers.

Praying that Mondays appointment goes well.
But don't sweat it John, if it doesn't ...Dave is 6 yrs older than you..and he has pulled out his own teeth for years.
Neither does he care about looks.
We the family DO!! We forbad him from smiling in my granddaughters wedding photo's. He has no teeth at the front now.

Whenever he gets a bothersome tooth , he wiggles it and wiggles it for days (especially when watching TV ...but mostly in bed)
Every single one came out easily after all his wiggling. LOL
Trouble is , he'd put them beside him when he got them out...and I had the 'blessing' of having to throw them away when I found them when dusting. o_O

Well my front teeth are not beautiful. They were always crooked from the time the permanent teeth arrived. No such thing as orthodontics in those days... or if there was it was too costly for anyone to consider. Only in age have there been problems, but so long as I can bite and chew I am not concerned. I remember now when they put that crown in several years ago I was told to expect pain, but it never bothered me at all. Now it came loose and they pulled it so it wouldn't happen in my sleep as swallowing it would not have been a good thing. Now I am impatient to get this root thing over with... It does seem strange that now is when I would this viral infection. I rarely get sick this way. I've had bronchitis and problems with my heart, but no colds and no flu... not for years. Hmmm? Is this a message from God?

Sorry you had the duty. The only teeth I've had pulled were the baby ones in the way of the permanent ones and once a great many years ago a couple of wisdom teeth that were coming in where there was no room for them. I wish I could just wiggle these roots out, but it's a no go. I can feel the tips of them through the gums but no pain. Probably if not for my wife I would skip the procedure and let come what may... She thinks always of her own teeth which gave her trouble from long before we were married. They pulled what she had left shortly after my mother died. The inheritance I received was enough to buy her a whole new set. She still has them.
