Ummmm.....yes....I think one should "justify" any interpretation of Scripture that is opposite of both Orthodox AND Protestant teaching.....This is not unreasonable!!

You didn't give an answer because you can't give an answer.....Thank you for your time
Whether I can or not matters not at all so long as I am on the Lord's side. Do you suppose that your challenge matters to God? So why then should it matter to me? The final results for the race we are in is Not dependent on our theological or biblical knowledge. There is no final theological or biblical or other similar examination at the end of our course to determine our final end. God looks at our hearts and what we have really been doing or trying to do with what He has given to each of us. Only He is qualified to render a fair, unbiased final judgment for each of us.

Well, at least you BELIEVE you are on the Lords side. But by your own admittance you could be wrong ;)

I sincerely do hope that at some point while you have time you will understand what I mean with what I say.

I have had 2 Very Paranormal things As in ACTUALLY HEARING GOD.
Happen in my Life.

I have had 1,000s of little things happen that were the hand of God.

But I have only heard God twice.

If you have not had the Hand of God at work in your life, I am sad for you.

@ Helen

Yes Helen. I have heard God TWICE in my life. they are very Memorable experiences, and every time I tell these stories they REMAIN EXACTLY the same.

I spent my entire Life from 11 years old told 30 Years old in the pursuit of Having a Relationship with God.

I LITERALLY walked around in a White Robe, Bare Foot, Ate Vegetables, and as it should be only spoke about God with EVERYONE I met.

Twice I have Heard GOD speak to me.

He has Done 1,000 upon 1,000 of things FOR ME, that I am not even aware of.

These people saying, well what is it they are saying?

WHERE IS GOD.
That pretty much is what they are saying. They Have Prayed, and God has not Answered their Prayers.
God did answer their Prayers, with Who are you?, and NO.

What have they done to make their life compatible to with God is looking for?
It is an Imaginary BLOOD covering by the Son of God to Cover our scent so we can sneak into Heaven.
I IMAGINE I am COVERED IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS, Therefore God is TRICKED into thinking I am his Son.
Is that the TRICK to get in to Heaven?

That is not what the Bible is About.

For all you know, those who have the experiences you're asking about are weaker in faith and need them because they are weaker.
I believe it is because of my weakness that God uses me. I've seen many times when one's natural strength is used to do God's work and the results are negligible. When I am weak, then I am strong.
As far as spiritual experiences go, yes I've had many. This is often how God talks to me. Every single time I've had a supernatural experience with God, in the days following He has always led me to a scripture that confirms to me what it was about and that it was Him.
I am aware that the word says that those who believe without seeing are blessed. Not much I can do about that, though sometimes I wonder what I could be missing out on. I've written about many of them on this site.
Like you say, the body is made up of different parts. God seems to balance things so nobody feels left out. The office of Apostle is the highest spiritual gift, but teaching is the most important. Often, as I'm sure you know, the first will be last and the last will be first. Shalom.

It is absolutely ridiculous, what is more ridiculous is that people are fooled by this nonsense. Strange fire.
Hungry sheep will eat just about anything. I see you are with the Reformed church? I ask because the only time I took classes to become a member of a church was with the Christian Reformed church. I liked it there. I never ate alone on Sunday. When my 2 youngest were little, we sent them to the Reformed church vacation bible school. It was an excellent experience for us all. Shalom.

The wife and I have a very close friend who is and has been involved with this church for a very long time, and I do have to say they practice some bizarre things. They’ll lay on the graves of passed Christian people to try and receive the residual of their anointing?
That made me laugh. Then as I thought about it, it started to make sense. Sounds like something Smith Wigglesworth would do. Lol Peace.

I got through 4 pages of this thread but now I'm going to stop reading as it seems that only one person actually replied on-topic to the OP's question. Did anyone else?

Only because of the scripture is why I believe such a noted encounter of receiving of the Holy Spirit only occurs at salvation moment, brother.

I am doing a study of the Holy Spirit in the book of Acts which I will post here when it is finished. There are some references in Acts that show that salvation is not the only time people received the Holy Spirit.

So you did mention it for why I misunderstood your relations to it. You frown upon armchair quarterbacking, right? And yet you seem to take that movement as gospel even though you were not there.

I lived in the Uk and experienced the first 10 years of the charismatic renewal.

Those that have err do sometimes testify feeling it come forth from within. If they had not mentioned the other obvious signs of apostasy, I would not have suspected it to discern it as still not of Him. He would never support a lie.

But he will support the truth. And I still never said anything about feeling a spirit outside of me.

And yet it is believers that goes to these places for the dramatic "manifestations of the Holy Spirit" or "visitations of the Holy Spirit with signs and wonders", do they not? Why promote a movement other than to say.. hey come here and see the Spirit of Christ at work! If they were preaching Jesus Christ for why people are being born again of the Spirit, that is one thing, but you said that is not what you are preaching, right?

I guess we are not all as perfect as you.

How do you know? Were you there?
Anyone who uses deceptive means to mimic the Holy Spirit is, in my books, a shyster. They always have in mind your money. A Shyster, on the other hand, is a spinning lure with a lead body that gets down deep when trout are in fast water. It works great on the Bow River, which, by the way, is where I learned to fly fish. Shalom.

Now answer the question.

Now answer the question.
If you are still asking me if I was there, no I wasn't. Over the years I've seen plenty of frauds on T.V. and in real life. When someone leads a group of people and gives "prophetic words" only to be caught with a plant in the audience with a microphone and the minister with an earpiece, this is what I call a shyster, a fraud, a snake-oil salesman. Today's church is laden down with this sort of thing. I console myself by remembering that judgement begins with the church, specifically church leadership. Jesus loves His people. I'm sure He loves all people though here I'm referring to His people. Now answer this question, you seem a decent type but you may have a reason I'm not aware of for demanding I answer the question. If so, what is it? Peace.

No grand miracles in my life. But, spiritual experiences can come in small doses. I like to believe that waking up in the morning is somewhat of a miracle. How do my lungs keep working so well, day after day - that is somewhat of a miracle to me.

Once, when I was first converted back in the 1980's, I went to a televangelist rally. I felt called up to the stage. The preacher laid his hands on me and I felt electricity go through my entire body. I saw myself on TV about a week later. Then, several months later that same televangelist was arrested for fraud. I chalk it up to some kind of scam in which he may have actually given me some mild electric shock. I'm skeptical of TV preachers to this day because of that incident.
