Ok! let's begin with Passover! According to Scripture, it is called a Holly Convocation, Literally a Set-Apart Rehearsal! At the sighting of the New Moon after the 12th Month, and if the Barley is Mature enough to harvest, then it is the Month of the { AVIV } Barley, now called Nissan! ten days later the High Priest, with two or three others would go to Bethlehem, about 4+ miles away. to the Sheep Folds Maintained by Priest's. [now do not get uneasy, the Priest had to have Lambs for daily offerings, morning and evening, and they had to be without blemish, so give this info some consideration] So the Priest's would go to Beit Lecham - House of Bread and choose a Lamb as Perfect as possible, for the Nation Of Israel. something else to consider is that Passover was and still is a Pilgrimage feast, that all males 13 and up were to go up to Jerusalem, But many people came up because it was a FEAST, a joyous time to Worship before their God. Thousands would go up early to take part in the Preparation of the Passover. Once the Priest's made their choice, and returned to the North Gate in Jerusalem, there would hundreds of Priests waiting at the entrance of the Gate, and when the Priests entered the Gate they would begin to wave large Palm Prongs and Cedar boughs, and singing! " Blessed is He who Comes in the Name of the Lord, and at that point thousands of people would come out of the Places they were staying, and waving Cedar boughs and their Palm Prongs, and joining in with the Song, then they would lay their Garments along the path leading up to the Temple Mount. So when the Priest got to the Temple Mount, He would place the Lamb on a tether and for FOUR days the Lamb was presented to all who wanted to Inspect it for Blemishes'. This is a simple description of a Ritual that was preformed for Hundreds of years, each and every year!!
Our Savior fulfilled this Ritual, He came into the North Gate, Just ahead of the Priests with the National Passover Lamb, His Disciples started to cry out the Song, Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the LORD, which drew out all those that were waiting, and they came and joined in, the Rehearsal was in full swing, and the Priest, Rebuked our Savior, and told His to tell His Disciples to Shut UP, and then for the next Four Days all the Religious Leaders, Inspected HIM, trying to find Fault [Blemish] in Him!!
