This is what I've been taught: Yes, suicide is a sin; all souls belong to God; the person killing him/herself is murdering one of God's children. And like all those that murder; their real trial is in Heaven with God.To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. ( Apostle Paul )And God will do the judging the suicide; as to his/her ultimate fate.We shouldn't judge a suicide ( or anyone that has died ) as only God knows all the details and their heart and mind.

Yes,It is a sin suicide is the Murder of one of Gods children. The Commandment Thou shalt not Kill. The hebrew word for "Kill" here is very explict it means thou shall not make a plan to kill one of Gods children. To plan to kill someone even Yourself is Murder! It is absolutey, without doubt a Sin.That being said as Ros says only God knows our heart or if one's mind is sick

Ezekiel 18:4All souls are His as stated above - there's your Scriptural documentation for that.God has a plan for all of us - particularly those of us who know Him and His love. Taking your own life not only arguably constitutes murder, but it interferes with God's plan. That's something that gets you in to trouble quickly.

One of the major problems with suicide is that you think you know better than God. So you are prideful and don't believe that God can get you through any situation, which makes you unfaithful. You are also being selfish because other people need you or maybe God want you to do something else. Also if you move through that situation with God you may be able to help other people in that situation. Some people may not ask God why they are in that situation which may help. So by taking your life you are committing a number of sins and you have cut off any chance of them being forgiven.

Sin, yes. Unpardonable sin? The Bible never says if this is the case. The Bible is silent on this issue. In fact, according to sola scripture, murder and suicide are not unpardonable sins. The only unforgivable sins are rejecting the Messiah (Mark 16:16) and blaspheming the Holy Spirit:"Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation" (Mark 3:28-29)All other sins can be forgiven. But we will be judged each of us individually, weighing all the factors of our lives, our beliefs and our motives. Each one of us is so intricate and complex, only G-d could really judge us in total truth, wisdom, and without favoritism. The most important truth of all, is that each one of us will stand before His throne and give account of our lives. If we lived intimately with this sobering truth, much of the sin in the church and the world, would immediately be stopped.
