'Blessed be the low in spirit''Blessed be those who mourn'Question: 'If we eradicate the causes of what's causing grief from society for non-believers, does that mean we are hindering them from getting to know the gospel and God? Because only those who are on the edge of total helplessness are the ones who starts to seek God and call on help from God. Therefore if we eradicate these causes then they'd be happy and doesn't need God anymore, thus they'd not get to know God and Jesus Christ the saviour?

You'll never truly eradicate those things for one. Secondly, it's all about God and planting seeds. That's what we're called on to do as Christians:Matthew 5:13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.Wishing, praying, loving, and helping someone to be happy is one thing but when defined by the world's definition without God, I think one must ask if they are truly doing the work of the Lord.

I believe when it say is Matt 5:3 he says poor in the spirit he is talking about someone who understand the need to be redeemed for their sins. They see how sin effects them and that they are not healthy (spiritually) so therefore they are poor or low in the spirit. Remember Jesus came for the sick no for those who think they are well. The poor in the sprite are willing to Give it all up for God. Where as the rich can't see past the here and now.

Sorry don't mean to post twice but I remembered more. The poor see that they own nothing and that we are all here by the grace of God. They don't have pride stopping them form the blessings of God. They have humbled themselves to his will. Ok I think I am done now. Have a blessed day.

My current answer to this question is...'And now abides faith, hope, and charity, but the greatest of these is charity.''Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.''And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.''Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.''No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.''And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.'Pray for me, because i still do not know which direction is right.

exactly last second....we are required to do as the Spirit leads us with regard to charity....Picking up a hitch hiker can some time become a major spiritual happening.... a Devine appointment. Your charity does not just affect the person you gave the charity too. I live in a small town and as small towns go everyone knows everything you do. The world is a small world and your charity is know by many...When your reputation is one of a "true Christian" people will come to you when they need spiritual help.

lastsecman,I think you bring up something pretty valid, very intimate, something I heard on the radio might be analogous to this. If I may be allowed to paraphrase, the Bible speaks of truth being something that requires, if we are to find it, some digging. Digging requires some work. And if we are to get to the best treasures, we should expect to do some digging. The Scriptures declare, we are to study to show ourselves approved. The word for 'study', is the Greek to 'earnestly endeavor. We often think of ourselves as digging, riding high enough that we are able to put our mind to it, of being in some position which places us in a position high enough to actually reach down into the volumes and dig up the truth. How high we automatically place ourselves. It was in regards to what is going on in the world today, the radio man directed the attention at those who want truth enough to do some of their own research. He said Paul was running around thinking he was doing right, persecuting the Jews, when the Lord hit him with a lightning bolt that knocked him off his horse. Well, I think there is allot of us who, in God's good pleasure, have been knocked off our horse. And allot more are being knocked off their horse when they take a studious look at the system being put in place in the world today too. I thought it was a good analogy. The Bible says it like this, 'changed into another man'. This is the explanation of the enigma which is expressed in that Saul was a year old when he went to war (as a ruler). Isaiah says of this (aha experience) that he was undone in ch.6 (i think).Flesh and blood hath not revealed this to thee, but the Lord from heaven, for He is the revealer of secret things. I know allot of our hearts have broken before, or prior to, we were in a position to be knocked off our horse. We first had to believe we were riding high on one. Only then are we prepared to have truth shatter the false realities being set forth by the god of this world, 'whom ye also once walked' Paul writes, addressed to the faithful and to the saints.I don't know about any of you, but I certainly thought I sat upon a horse, I thought I rode pretty high. I had to get knocked off. I needed to land hard.

How can a person be saved?Firstly, to love God more than self. Secondly, to love neighbour as self.If we are full of light with no part dark, then it would automatically draw people to us without us even having to mention to them about our belief, because they'd want to find out themselves what makes us so different.
