lastsecman,I think you bring up something pretty valid, very intimate, something I heard on the radio might be analogous to this. If I may be allowed to paraphrase, the Bible speaks of truth being something that requires, if we are to find it, some digging. Digging requires some work. And if we are to get to the best treasures, we should expect to do some digging. The Scriptures declare, we are to study to show ourselves approved. The word for 'study', is the Greek to 'earnestly endeavor. We often think of ourselves as digging, riding high enough that we are able to put our mind to it, of being in some position which places us in a position high enough to actually reach down into the volumes and dig up the truth. How high we automatically place ourselves. It was in regards to what is going on in the world today, the radio man directed the attention at those who want truth enough to do some of their own research. He said Paul was running around thinking he was doing right, persecuting the Jews, when the Lord hit him with a lightning bolt that knocked him off his horse. Well, I think there is allot of us who, in God's good pleasure, have been knocked off our horse. And allot more are being knocked off their horse when they take a studious look at the system being put in place in the world today too. I thought it was a good analogy. The Bible says it like this, 'changed into another man'. This is the explanation of the enigma which is expressed in that Saul was a year old when he went to war (as a ruler). Isaiah says of this (aha experience) that he was undone in ch.6 (i think).Flesh and blood hath not revealed this to thee, but the Lord from heaven, for He is the revealer of secret things. I know allot of our hearts have broken before, or prior to, we were in a position to be knocked off our horse. We first had to believe we were riding high on one. Only then are we prepared to have truth shatter the false realities being set forth by the god of this world, 'whom ye also once walked' Paul writes, addressed to the faithful and to the saints.I don't know about any of you, but I certainly thought I sat upon a horse, I thought I rode pretty high. I had to get knocked off. I needed to land hard.
