I guess I missed any mullet period. I do remember the flattops with long sideburns and ducktails of some of the pachucos (went to chicanos in the 1960's) in California. I guess I am dating myself. You are bringing balance to this thread. The problem with mullets is the lack of balance between what's on top compared to what is at the back. There are obvious theological ramifications to consider. I hope you will remain on the topic for others who struggle with this problem.
If one man wears a mullet...that's something society can handle. But what happens to society when more people wear mullets...when it becomes a trend?
Would Jesus have allowed His disciples to sport mullets...that's the real question.
I remember riding on a Greyhound bus with my grandmother, an old style Pentecostal lady, who really did love everyone. Riding along on the bus, she started talking to a young pachuco who was seated near us on the bus. I was not even in high school yet but I remember thinking she was crazy for even talking to him. Before he got off the bus at his stop she had him hanging on every word as she told him about Jesus. Not a mullet but his hair style was definitely trendy at the time. Was he saved as a result? God knows but he definitely knew something about Jesus he did not know before!
