I doubt you ever will. You are a catholic joined to the catholic church, received the counterfeit catholic spirit, thats why you talk, act, sound, and defend catholism, nothing to do with God, At the bereft of having to repeat myself.

1Co 6:15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
1Co 6:16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
1Co 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

but since you seemingly dont know what it is I speak of,

Rom_8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
And you are a Protestant joined to the ever splintering Protestant theory that changes over time to the point that you and your ilk now allow gay marriage, actively gay pastors and bless abortion clinic doctors. Your 500 year theory allows you to shop around for the church that fits what YOU believe because you Protestants believe the truth can be revealed to YOU just as much as anyone else.

A counterfeit is a fake that greatly resembles or is a copy of the original. Do you know what that means kiddo? YOU belong to the counterfeit church because the CC was first and all other churches are a copy of it. Sooooo your "counterfeit" statement is actually a statement about YOU and your ilk. ;)

So go you may continue to talk, act, sound and defend the Protestant theory which has nothing to do with God. Your theory has to do with YOU and what YOU believe because you are able to go find a Church that teaches what YOU believe instead of accepting an authoritive Church that has the power to bind and loosen and tell you how YOU should be treated if you disagree with her. You have YOU....I have The Church.

1Co 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Christ spotless pure church resembles non of mens churches, His bride is not a Harlot.

Lets try this again kiddo....The CC is the original and your Protestant beliefs are a copy of that original. An original CAN'T be counterfeit....only a copy can be soooooo ONCE AGAIN your theory is bankrupt based on logic.

If the CC was the original Harlot which Church was the original Church that was not the Harlot?

Your beliefs/practices/doctrines, which are a modified version of the CC are not an abomination? You don't see yourself as a child of The Church?

Fascinating...

I do not see the church of Jesus Christ as being the same as the Temple of Jerusalem that was destroyed in AD 70. Neither do I see the Temple congregation as having the same beliefs as the followers of Jesus Christ. I do however see the Catholic Church as an image of the Old Testament Church with all its idols, ritual, pomp and ceremony etc.

50 commands in the New Testament is a good start, but if you complete your studies you'll find there is another 1000 commands for a total of 1050 commands.
The Old Testament has 613

But the 10 commandments is another story.
God puts a major emphasis on the 10 Commandments and it starts in the Old Testament, not as the Mosaic Law, but the 10 commandments given separately to the Israelites at Mt. Siani in Exodus 31 on the 2 tablets.
God was very smart knowing that the Mosaic law would be made null and void at the cross, but the 10 commandments Given separately on the 2 tablets were to be obeyed for all time by all mankind including observing the Sabbath by all mankind for all earthly time.

God bless you all in your walk with Christ
My name is OLIGOS
If you follow Christ like you say in your post, then you will follow Him and not the Old Covenant law.

How do you define "idol"? Would a person who lived a holy life and is revered/recognized by The Church (commonly called a saint) as a person who we should look up to be considered an "idol"?

A ritual is a religious ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order. Based on that definition baptism, wedding ceremonies, participating in communion (Luke 22:19) etc. are rituals established/supported in the NT. Should Christians not participate in those rituals?

I see idols as graven images, and the 2nd commandment forbids them, but I see plenty of graven images in the homes of Catholics. I would not make an idol of anything or anyone be they saint or pop star.

We would not have seen Old Testament Jews taking communion.

I would not make a big deal of holy days, the new moon, or of the sabbath days: (Col 2:16)

Rituals like sprinkling a baby with holy water is a nonsense.

You are trying to get me into a discussion, but I shall stop here, you get my drift.

In Exodus 20:3-6 God forbids making graven images for the purpose of idolatry but does not forbid the making of graven images per se. Ex. 25:18-19, Ex. 26:1, Num. 21:8-9, 1 Kings. 6:23, 27-29, 1 Kings. 7:25 and 1 Kings. 7:36 make that clear but since you already know Scripture I suspect you already knew that.

What I suspect you see in the homes of Catholics are statues, pictures etc. of saintly people (or even Mary and Joseph) that we deeply respect and admire. You probably have pictures of people in your house also. Does God forbid you from those pictures?

Lol.....of course OT Jews would not be taking communion. Communion was implemented by Christ at the Last Supper....;) Christians have been taking communion since the death of Christ because they did what he told them to do in Matthew 26:26-27 and Luke 22:19. Several years later the apostle Paul expressly declares that what he delivered concerning this ordinance he "received from the Lord" (1 Corinthians 11:23). Are you saying you don't do what Christ told you to do??? :(

The earliest historical recordings from the Christians show us that baptism of babies has been happening since the earliest Christians of whose shoulders you stand on and foundation that you belong to. The practice of not baptizing babies began with your protestant movement around 500 years ago. Sooooo the real nonsense started 500 years ago :(

It is true......I was trying to get you into a discussion and you did choose to discuss with me and made sure I heard what YOU believe but NOW you want to "stop here"??? Why is that?? Because you have said what you want to say but you don't want to hear me say what I have to say??? Hmmmmmm....o_O

I did not want to talk to someone who will not change regardless of anything that is said, but I have to say this: you do realise I hope, that the making of graven images by the Israelites took place during their period of apostasy which apart from the remnant extends to the present day.

Sooo you don't want to talk to me because I will not change my stance that Scripture makes it clear that God does NOT forbid the religious use of statues? You don't want to talk to me because I adhere to Scripture???

I hope you realize God forbade the worship of statues, but he did not forbid the religious use of statues.

The Catholic God:
Jeremiah 7:21 Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat meat.

Ezekiel 20:40 For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says the Lord Yahweh, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, serve me in the land: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.

Ezekiel 44:15 But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, who performed the duty of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister to me; and they shall stand before me to offer to me the fat and the blood, says the Lord Yahweh:

My God:
In every city of Judah he made high places to burn incense to other gods, and provoked to anger Yahweh, the God of his fathers. 2 Chronicles 28:25

“What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices? says the Lord; I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of well-fed beasts; I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of goats.(Isaiah 1:11)

Bring no more vain offerings; incense is an abomination to me. New moon and Sabbath and the calling of convocations—I cannot endure iniquity and solemn assembly. (Isaiah 1:13)

Either God is confused or you are confused because in other OT passages God demands animal sacrifices and instructs how to use of the blood of animal and the meat of that sacrifice (Exodus 12:7). Why are you pitting God against God by quoting (out of context) passages from the OT?

Are you of the belief that Catholics sacrifice animals?

While Moses was being given the Ten Commandments by the LORD, Aaron was making a Golden Calf who he called LORD.

When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow shall be a feast to the LORD.” And they rose up early the next day and offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings. And the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play (paganism). And the LORD said to Moses, “Go down, for your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. (Exodus 32:5-7)

The Israelites worshipped Baal who they called LORD more than they worshipped Yahweh. The trouble is, every time "LORD" is mentioned we assume it is a reference to the true God. This has had a corrupting influence on church and congregation alike and this is why the God of the New Testament (Jesus and Father) is so different from the warlike god of the Old Testament. Jesus confirmed this when he told the hard-line Jews their father was the devil. (John 8:44)

In these last days it is so important we are aware of this.

Which church has not succumbed to this "corrupting influence" that you speak of?
