Polar, I did see the article recently about New York. I too, was moved in my spirit by this Prophesy! When God uses humans to prophesy, we can sometimes get some of the details off. After all we are human and we make mistakes. Our timing is not always God's timing, but it does not mean that the prophesy will not happen.God has used me to prophesy many times, and sometimes the timing was way off but it did happen. But at the time it looked like it would'nt happen but they did finally come to pass.We do need to be watchful of false prophets! But David Wilkerson overall has a pretty good track record. But he is human, and subject to error, as we all are!

Hi Jody long time no see

.. I have no doubt God gives people a heads up sometimes it could be in dreams, sometimes in prayer sometimes in understanding biblical prophecy ...However IMHO we should not call these people prophets Gods True prophets are 100% percent right100 % of the time ... look at our examples ... in scripture ... These great prophets were people also and they were 100% right because they were true prophets of God... That's not to say we can not be shown things or know things occasionally if we have a good relationship with God ...but that not the same as being a prophet of God .... When we get to the point in time when his sons and daughters will prophesise again the only way we will know if they are of God will be they are 100% right 100% of the time this will be our proof ...

Wilkerson does not call himself a prophet. What touched me the most about this was that Wilkerson did not want to speak about this.Further, he has not sought attention, recognition, or profit from this....No "5-CD set laying out all the important details you need to know to survive for a 'gift donation' of just $59.00" etc. I believe he did it out of obedience.

Sorry, but prophets of God never said "Oops, I missed the message on that one!"I've watched how these people function over the years; it's always an ambiguous statement that something general is going to happen like 1,000 fires, etc. There is nothing quantifiable there, and as soon as some riot happens in a naturally rough and divided city, one can claim that he/she predicted it.

Hey you guys and Polar, I can see and feel "all" of your answers, and wasthinking last night of figuring out what I felt and responding...but I ended up instead going to You-tube and listening for "quite" some time with intense attention to David W. himself preaching on not just this butthe relating subject of "The Coming Great Depression!" After hearing all this which was quite intense and quite "quickening"...I really encourage you guys to listen also and I provide a link following hereto an awesome message that I really think will answer some things for allof us. I'm new here but have been here in the past; I'm just like you; long timeChristian. In one of those certian moments the other day I caught myself beingso quiet that with no effort at all I started "hearing" the still, small voice...it surprised me! Surprised me at the flood of things that I began to hear! And I wasn't trying...I just think my "mind" was very quiet, and I remember "hearing" these words..."Be still, and know that I am God." Like a confirmation right? That's what I was doing! And what I was hearing wasvery different than what my ordinary day to day "Christian" mind thinks! SomethingI "heard" in the past..."God's will and man's are 2 separate things"...and that goesfor Christians too in general. So the message I am trying to bring out here is, it's a very fine line between whatour Christian mind is often thinking and what the Spirit of God is really sayingright now...because we are still are influenced by the flesh right? I am feeling after all this that really...it's not signifigant about the particular prophecy about New York...but what is significant for us to know right now is thisgreater message which does include possibly New York...about this "Depression!"We have to leave the details to God...We are not given a spirit of fear, but in suchdays we are to "Live by Faith"....and moreso than ever...it's not the details of everything that might happen...but it's the larger picture of what God is doing in our day!Check out this message here...The current Economic SituationIf that doesn't work just of to "The Current Economic Situation"Another interesting message of his on the same You-tube page....Weird Manifestations...it spoke to me!Siskim

I guess that is my point.Wilkerson never calls himself a prophet.Just as I do not think Jonah ever called himself a prophet. Both men struggled not to have to give what they felt in their hearts was a message from God.Wilkerson just chose to do it before the whale showed up.

Frankly I am not interested at all in what the guy calls himself, or doesn't call himself. Jonah never retracted prophecy, neither did any of the others. It's either right or wrong, and this guy has been wrong pretty clearly. If he cannot discern between what God is telling him and what whatever else is telling him, then this is someone you don't listen to, period.
Jeremiah 14:14Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
The key being everything He says through his mouthpiece (the prophet) is 100% true. God, unlike man, doesn't get it wrong every once in a while.

Secular sources foretell the same thing as most of these so called prophets do! I don't trust them as far as I could throw them. No real prophets today, at least I have never seen any.Its like the gift of so called healing you never find them at the childrens hospitals doing their thing now do we? its all a delusion brought about to deceive, and make people lose faith.Glenn.

No it's not Glenn, God has given me a good number of prophetic words via his Prophetsover years and those that I knew by his spirit were speaking by his Spirit were 100%on every single time. A miraculous healing also occured right before my eyes in my living room when I saw my husband healed after I saw him "see" the Lord, and it was themost amazing experience of all I've ever known.Granted there are multitudes today prophecying out of their own human heart and will, and granted God is the healer and not man, so it has not been my experience, I havenot witnessed any man or woman going about laying hands on and healing at their own randomwill, but whoever is God's true hand extended is led by God's own will and Spirit and doesnothing of their own, so that they walk into hospitals and heal everyone.I also did have very deep and absolute faith myself in words given to me, when I knew inmyself the word was from God, so that even though sometimes, not always, the word did notcome to pass for years, I knew it would and it did, and I have distinct testimonies.I don't say these things to debate but to give you, if you will, faith that God is thesame God as he has always been and his hand is not shortened today that he annot save, heal, deliver, or speak through the mouths of his servants. But remember just as he describedabout his parables, the unbelieving will continue to disbeleive, in hearing they will not hear and in seeing the will not see. God gives his treasures and reveals himself intimatelyto those who believe him, love him, trust him, with all their heart. Siskim

Plus I never disclosed what I thought about God healing today, I to have had spiritual words of promise, and warnings to get ready back in the eighties but it was personal not a prophetic forecast of specific events I could date. The time period when the pentacostal healings were taking place is not happening today, but like you I believe God heals but not through a mans ministery, The hope that was promised since the foundation of the world was of this world with Christ ruling on His earthly fathers throne, and the purpose of healing doesn't have the same context for those who are part of the all spiritual blessings in heavenly places! why get a temporal healing for a dead tabernacle your going to put off anyway? when your part of a Spiritual body made for glory you desire to leave this place behind if your called before the foundation of the world. I agree with Christina, God's prophets are 100% right all the time. Some where in Jeremiah I read about Jeremiah's comment that God has used prophets to give warnings tohis people. Israel was forewarned of coming disaster upon them before God took them to captivity, for disobeying him.Jeremiah said that God's messages were coming destruction in forms of war, plagues, and captivity. Jeremiah 28:8 From early times the prophets who preceded you and me have prophesied War, disaster and plague against many countries and great Kingdoms. A prophet who prophesies peace will ONLY BE RECOGNIZED as one truly sent by the Lord if his prediction comes true. Of course Hananiah was proven to be a false prophet. Even the prophets in Acts 11:27 came down from Jerusalem and told Paul and the apostles that the Holy Spirit spoke that a severe famine would spread over the entire area and Paul and others sent gifts to the elders. God seems to only send prophetic messages of coming disaster upon nations of the earth and the kingdoms and the people of God. Something to keep in mind when people claim prophesy.
