1 Thessalonians 2 10) Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe: 11) As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children, 12) That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. We have become in Christ Jesus a people who are called unto the liberation from the bondage of corruption. (1 Corinthians 15:52) “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”We have been called and elected by God to be conformed to the image of His son Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:29) For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. We have been called into a priesthood. 1 Peter 2:9-10) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. We are no longer strangers to the promise: (Ephesians 2:11-13) Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. We are saved from the lowest pit and from the house of mire which would have engulfed us. (Psalm 40:2) He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. We have been blessed in our life by the mercies of God. We have been brought out of darkness unto the light of liberation. We have been called to the promise land and are called by a Great Redeemer. One who is worthy of more praise and is deserving of more worship then we can sing for all eternity. The life we have been called to, eternal life is not just something that starts in our glorified state. In our journey in the faith, our living, our lifestyle, there should be a manifestation of holiness. Look at Whom we are called by! He who is infinite, in Whom there is no darkness at all. Am I talking about perfectionism, no, but am I talking about a stride or reaching for the unobtainable in our lifetime, yes. We in our corruptible bodies are not sinless, nevertheless, does this give us right to live recklessly and in a state of rebellion? (Romans 6:2) “God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” Preaching and exhorting holy living is not legalism, despite what many unfortunate say or fight against, as long as the focus of life and our hope does not become our works, our this, our that, rather than the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. A person can have all the good works they want and still go to hell. Isaiah 64:6 states, “and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” And yet on the other side, a person can claim a fellowship or a relationship with Christ, and still be in complete and utter darkness, denying Him with their life.In 1 John 2:24 it states, “If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.”Now let us look at the inverse of this statement “If that which ye have heard from the beginning doesn’t remain in you, ye shall not continue in the Son, and in the Father”All those that have the word choked out, stolen out of their heart by satan, with no root in them, are they that have been deceived, walking in darkness, loving the world, and putting God not at the throne and head of their life. Psalm 119:72) The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.Psalm 119:162) I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil. We have been given by God His word, which holds a storehouse, that is to say much on the way we should live and conduct ourselves. And in obedience to, praying and petitioning God’s word, application, studying, and meditating therein, we can walk more within the ways of worthiness. Letting the word become manifest in us.(1 Thessalonians 2 :13) .. when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
