All salvation comes from God or Christ who is God. It was Christ and the Holy Bible (word of God) that declares that water can save because baptism came from God. And if God and the Bible says that baptism can save, then that is truth. In other words, water can save simply because it was consecrated and given the power to save by God Himself.MickinEngland said:I ask again, what saves, Jesus or water?
Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
1 Peter 3:21 and this water symbolized baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscious toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Baptism is necessary because baptism is the purpose of God's plan for us.
Luke 7:29 (All the people even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus' words, acknowledged that God's way was right because they had been baptized by John.
Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and the experts in the law rejected God's purpose for themselves because they had not been baptized by John).
