Hello, My name is Mina and I'm a new to Christianity. I used to be an Atheist but I have decided to let god into my heart. I have a question about this specific issue that has come up here recently. My mother wants my family and I go to a Laos temple this weekend. I was doing some research and came across their website.http://www.watlaorockwall.org/If you click on Terms on the left side it talks about the Su-Khuan.She mention a rictual called the Su-Khuan. She would like to have my 4 month old boy to recieve this ritual. But I am unsure of this. I mean I almost hardly know both of these religions. I am just very confused. I want to know if this is going against god or not.

Hello Mina, :)I'm glad to hear that you have let God into your heart. I do not know anything about Buddism, but I do know what God says to us in the Scriptures:Exo 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me." This means that there is only one God and he does not share his glory with false gods. He demands that we worship him alone.Does this answer your question? I hope so. If not, let me know and I will try again.

Yes.
Isaiah 8:19And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
These spirits that the various religions come up with can be dangerous regardless of how you feel about them, whether they be real or fake. I don't think it unreasonable at all that you feel uncomfortable about this; it's the parents responsibility to raise the child as they see fit, and this includes religious ceremonies. If you're not comfortable with it, I think that is telling you something there.

When you choose to follow Jesus, satan will place all sorts of obstacles in your path to try and trip you up. No dont God, The enemy can and will use anyone to stop you following Jesus, even members of your own family. Now being a Christian, you are going to find out that following God is not all that lovey dovey stufff they preach in church. its a war, between good and evil, between God and satan, a war over your soul, and satan wont let go so easy. Be under no illusion, its not a game, its your life at stake here. Seek God first above all, always ask Him He will answer you in His time. Jesus is you intercessor, He is and will always be with you. Talk to Him He is listening. In His Love

A man's enemies will be those of his own household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.And he who doesn't take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me" (Matt 10:34-38)

Incidentally, my sister phoned me last Christmas to invite me over to her house for tea with her and my two nieces, and she ended by saying "but if you come don't mention satan or anything like that"Obviously they're embarrassed because I'm a Christian, so I made some excuse not to go, and haven't been in touch with them since.

My advice would be dont go near budhism or any other false religion for that matter. Be nice about it but still be firm about it, your a child of god now and god loves you for accepting his son jesus and so do i :D

And if any nonchristian says- "But why don't you like our religion?", I politely reply- "Because it doesn't have the Son of God in it"
