Love always has hope. It, therefore, never condemns another person. It can even alter destiny and change an evil person to a good person. God, therefore, never gives up on us; and even gave up His life in order to save us from sin. There are, therefore, countless accounts of sinners who became saints. Jesus did not give up on Judas although He knew that He would betray Him. He hoped that Judas would reject sin by following Him. He, therefore, brought him into His inner circle of friends. Unfortunately, Judas rejected His friendship by choosing a path of selfishness.

no.. not really... while I totally agree that love always has hope... But God, in love, condemns all those who would deny His Son... I also agree that there are countless accounts of sinners who became saints, in fact, this is true of each and every single person who ever became or becomes a Christian,... for everyone starts out evil, as a sinner, born under the law, and are, by nature, a child of wrath... and after they become a follower of Jesus by grace through faith, they then become a saint, which is not a word used of 'super-Christians", but one for example the writers of the NT used of simple every day believers... Judas was destined to do what He did from before the foundation of the world... God is omniscient... Jesus is God... therefore because Jesus knew that Judas would betray Him... He did not hope for Judas to turn and not betray Hims since that would be to hope for something that Jesus, in His omniscience, knew would not happen...John 6:63-64 ESV It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is of no avail. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. (64) But there are some of you who do not believe." (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)"John 13:21-27 ESV After saying these things, Jesus was troubled in his spirit, and testified, "Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me." (22) The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke. (23) One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining at table close to Jesus, (24) so Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus of whom he was speaking. (25) So that disciple, leaning back against Jesus, said to him, "Lord, who is it?" (26) Jesus answered, "It is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread when I have dipped it." So when he had dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. (27) Then after he had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, "What you are going to do, do quickly."John 17:12 NASB "While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.John 18:2-4 ESV Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples. (3) So Judas, having procured a band of soldiers and some officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, went there with lanterns and torches and weapons. (4) Then Jesus, knowing all that would happen to him, came forward and said to them, "Whom do you seek?"Act 1:24-25 ESV And they prayed and said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen (25) to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place."in fact, it was God's eternal plan that Jesus the Son would go to the Cross to propitiate the sins of the elect.... imagine if God has Mary become supernaturally impregnated with Jesus, that Jesus lived out His life, teaching, doing great miracles, and then when His greatest work was to be done, God was surprised and Judas did not betray Him and He was never delivered up tot he authorities to be crucified!!! Would God have had to start all over again with another virgin birth and the Son would have to come to earth again, time and time again until finally someone betray the Son to His death...? Of course not... When Jesus went to the Cross, God knew this exactly, and knew exactly who would betray Him...Act 2:22-23 ESV "Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know-- (23) this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men."blessings, ken
