Hi to all Christians When we speak of Jesus being the son of GOD, how long in time has this been for? Example, in scripture it states that GOD created Jesus before the creation of the world, but for how long was this? how long was Jesus in heaven with GOD before his first coming to earth?

music says:

but for how long was this?
We dont know, time as we know it had not offically started..it could have been a trillion years..we just dont know..
how long was Jesus in heaven with GOD before his first coming to earth?
Again we dont know, the bible doesnt say..but it was from everlasting, and scripture does say that God created all things by Him eph 3: 9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Hi there musicworld. :) The bible states that Jesus is God also. So in reality... He existed the same time as God the Father. :)John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.Blessings:)

Jesus is said the be first over all God's creation, but not that He is a created being... He is eternal, therefore He has never been created... so I would have to see, explicitly where you think that the bible says that God created Jesus...blessings,ken

Yes, for He was the mediator by which the earth was created eph 3: 9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: How could God create all things by JESUS CHRIST and He didnt exist ?

To understand this is to understand the very nature of God the easiest way I have heard to think of this is the example of the egg ... It has a shell, a white, and a yolk, it can be seperated into three seperate parts, each part maybe used to do a seperate whole thing but it is still one ...its still one egg a whole thing within itself ... the fact the shell can be seperated from the white can be seperated from the yolk ...doesnt mean its still not one egg. We have Eph 4:5One Lord, one faith, one baptism Christ said to see me is to see the father ....We are created in his image we are body mind and sprirt/soul .... God being supernatural and God, can seperate aspects of himself, his word made flesh ...However Like the egg he is still one ... Jhn 1:14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. I see the Answer to be in a nutshell is that the Words, of God (his thoughts) his words were always with him, when were they not with him? ..will his word ever stop being a part of him ? No of course not.it became flesh . 14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among usHis word made flesh sits at his right hand. he did and will dwell with us .. We have but one God

Maybe it would help to think of God the Father, and Christ, as God in the flesh, as an unending circle.

I thought there was a big difference - that Jesus was never created, but begotten ?I'm sure Christina could help out on this one.Oh, and John 17:5 would be of interest here, indeed.

The first thing we need to keep in mind when answering this question is that Jesus has two natures. The Son in his deity is eternal. He has no beginning or end. For example:

Joh 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am."

Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

The Son in his humanity had a beginning at his incarnation. For example:

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us...

Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman...

Notice in Galatians 4:4 we're told that God sent forth his son to become flesh. In other words, the Son has always been the son and that eternally.

Jesus, as the Son of God, was created before ' God made the heavens and the earth in the beginning.'(Gen 1:1) At Revelation 3:14, Jesus himself said that he was "the beginning of the creation by God". Hence, he was "formed" before God created the universe. He is called God's "master worker" at Proverbs 8:30 and in which at Proverbs 8:22, as wisdom personified, he said: "Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago."

He further said that "from time indefinite I was installed, from the start, from times earlier than the earth....when as yet he had not made the earth...when he prepared the heavens I was there."(Prov 8:23, 26, 27) And in working with his heavenly Father to ' prepare the heavens and earth,' Proverbs 30:4 asks: "Who has gathered the wind in the hollow of both hands ? Who has wrapped up the waters in a mantle ? Who has made all the ends of the earth rise ? What is his name and what the name of his son, in case you know ?"

Thus, before the foundations of the heavens and the earth were laid "in the beginning", Jesus existed, being the "firstborn of all creation".(Col 1:15) He has existed before the conception of the universe by God, being "the beginning of (Jehovah God's) way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago." Hence, Jesus had a "beginning", with only God being "from everlasting to everlasting."(Ps 90:2, King James Bible)
