"Assemble and come, all you nations, and gather together all around. Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations" (Joel 3:11-12).The Arab Christian population in Nazareth has become a minority in the past few years and Muslims have become increasingly aggressive. Only one more Muslim member in the Nazareth City Council would bring about a Muslim majority. It is this Council that prevented the Muslims from erecting a mosque in front of the Church of Annunciation in 2002.There is no doubt that the Islamic world would see it as a major symbolic and spiritual victory if Muslims succeeded in bringing both the city where Yeshua was born, Bethlehem, and the city where He spent His boyhood, Nazareth, under their control. They have also set their sight on the city where Yeshua died and rose again, Jerusalem. The Muslims already exert a certain amount of control over the heart of the city - the most sacred place to the Jewish people - the Temple Mount. G-d declared Yerushalayim (Zion) to be the place where He desires to dwell.Pray for the Arab believers who are small in number and who are being persecuted, that they will stand strong in faith and believe in the promises of G-d. "And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the remnant whom the LORD calls" (Joel 2:32).
