The owner of the first and only forum I had ever joined on-line [prophecyTalk] had closed without notice which left many of it's members scrambling to find each other and also find a new Christian forum to join.

I went past this forum x2 after reading a few conversations and noting a few battles they were engaged in and decided to move on. I was use to battles but coming from a prophecy forum, it was not the type I would spend my time and energy on. I liked the owner/admin who was in his early 20s at the time and I eventually came back and decided to join out of curiosity.

It turned out to be an okay place to meet other christians and some of the long lost members of the original forum began to trickle through. Ie: @pompadour, @ScottA and a number of others....

I usually seek out another forum only if I have been banned from the one I am on. I always have two forums I am involved in just for the reason if I am banned from one, I am still involved in the other and have time to look for another. And, that is why I found this forum.

Three days ago I was banned, or am not allowed to post, which is the same thing, from the other forum I am on. I since found another to replace it, but the format, the layout, of it is frustrating. I don't think I will be there very long.

Back in the distant past, June 2011, I was asked to join this forum, as the writer of the email thought that I might add to the community on here.

I too was a member of Prophecy Talk and I unfortunately had to contend with Dadda, who I believe was possibly an early member of this forum and Harry?? who both wanted me banned because I postulated a very different understanding of the End Times. I remember seeing his PT handle one time while looking at the list of member names. Shortly after their hounding of me began in earnest, the forum was closed down by the owner at that time.

I did not start posting on this forum until November 2017. I am also a member of Joel's Trumpet Forum which is now called Bible Prophecy Discussion. Originally it had no visible moderators and the discussion could be quite heated. The activity on that forum is fairly small by comparison, and I occasionally check in still.

I am still a member of another prophecy forum, but its membership is quite small and I recognise a few members here who are still members on that forum.

Every forum I have been on, the range of "Crazies" covers the full spectrum of types among the members.

I joined up because I love talking about scripture, and biblical aspects, and also noted that people here were happy to talk about current world affairs as well. (I don't watch the main stream news anymore).

I'm looking for a place where I can share some thoughts, be challenged (in a loving way) in a community that can respect each other even if they have a difference of opinion.

I enjoy a good debate (that's different to an argument) - in that with a debate (at least my definition) - each side has a strong conviction, but will hear out and consider the other's side to see if we can learn from each other.

I haven't come across too many Christian forums that looked promising to the above. Most I saw were polluted with personal attacks, arguing, or infiltrated by atheists wanting to dirty the water. This forum appeared to be the most promising that I came across with my brief searches, so I joined and are currently evaluating whether or not it's suitable for me (or if I'm suitable for the rest of the community here).

This forum is a bit busy for me to be able to keep up with everything, but so far I've been selecting a few threads to look at and be involved in, and I'll see how things evolve from there.

Hi @Jay Ross. I remember Dadad and Harry. They were quite a pair in the eschatology forum if I can recall. My name was PrayerWarrior on that forum and I was a good friend of @goodshepard55 who was originally from Georgia but married an Aussie guy . Did you have the same username? Glad that you have joined here

Sometimes I've wondered if the devil made me do it. :D

My number one reason for joining this forum was for fellowship. I wasn't in a church at the time and needed encouragement, and I wanted to be able to encourage other Christians.

Got the left foot of fellowship from CF, and went looking. Was looking at this one and noticed Josho and a few others posting dreams without much interpretation work going on, and thought, "Well there's an In if there ever was one," LoL. So I joined, posting a thread offering to do interpretation work for people, and the rest was history. Was warmly greeted by Josho, Triumph, Helen, Amadeus, Forrest, and a few others.

The biggest factor, however, was the Spirit here. There was an almost tangible sense of community - of family - here. I wondered why, but soon discovered there was also a relatively high percentage of those who believed in the gifts of the Spirit, which partly explains the feeling I was getting.

I decided who needed CF, LoL, and settled here instead. Was also active at Worthy during that time, but it just wasn't the same feeling as here. I still visit other forums, but my home is here. The format allows you to speak your mind when necessary, and the freedom to post on controversial subjects. CF is so strict that much of what I share here could never be published there. And in spite of posting threads that some communities would consider "too divisive," this community is much closer and much stronger. Go figure.

It's still a great family, and I love everyone here, even the ones I strongly disagree with...

(which is about three quarters of you mixed nuts, LoL. But hey, people gotta be free to be themselves, so I say, "Live and let live!").

Yes, surprisingly busy for such a small community, especially lately. Almost no one can be involved in everything here, so yours is the right approach.

Should bring him back, just to balance the age differences in these forums, hahaha. :D

I probably joined because I was probably feeling lonely, don't have many friends in real life and still don't.

It's good to chat to other Christians though. Especially when I am from the nation of Australia, it's not really the best country to have Christian conversation in, well not in my local area anyway, we are pretty much one of the only Christian families in this small circuit of maybe 30 houses, probably less, from what we know, who we know anyway.

A lot of not so clean language out in the world around us these days, and there are a lot of Aussies that don't even like to hear the word "Jesus" mentioned in a Christian way, a lot don't want anything to do with Jesus, a lot don't want to hear the Gospel, it's pretty sad.

So these forums are a good place to speak freely about Jesus, and have conversations in a Christian manner with other Christians.

What's also sad, you drive into the main town nearby, and New Age/witchcraft seems to be the main religion there.........

Yes Dadda and Bondiharry were quite a pair. I also remember goodshepard, and did interact with her. Johnny, from memory, I think that is right, was also my friend on that forum but he got cancer and passed away. On PT my label was just "Tom."

I first joined here back in 2007 under another name.
I joined because the forum I was on had problems and many members left. But I stayed on the old one...good friend there.

But I changed computers and lost my info for this site...forgot my name and also my password . So in 2011 I re registered and have been here on and off ever since.

I had joined about six forums ...( starting since 1999) ..but in time as they died out ...this one just became my main forum, the place where I found I posted most and spent my time. I have forgotten some of the names of the forums I belong to.
If I remember the name of the forum , then by then I have forgotten the name that I used or the password for the forum :D

In all I have been a part of six forums , but only two that I have stuck with, this being one of them :)

What Made You Join This Forum
OP ^

I joined this forum Because I found it to have a Wide range of Availabe options for personal Testimonies and discussing different Topics....heavy and serious to the light and amusing Threads.

I find it "interesting" the wide Range of things people Believe Are "Right and Wrong"... and their willingness to hang on to their position...even when they have not a shred of Biblical Verification.

Glory to God,
Taken

I joined when Helen mentioned the forum, but I do remember her telling me I would need a thick skin !
I have been a member of many forums over the years, usually with many familiar members. So it’s always been about linking up with friends - and making new ones along the way.
I am pretty much a lone Christian at home and at work, so online connections are invaluable to me xx
