@Doug, Israel is a tribe of people correct, tribe vs HOUSE. listen Jeremiah 31:31 "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:"

Isaiah 56:6 "Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;"
Isaiah 56:7 "Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people."

see Doug, the strangers, both Jews and Gentiles, will be JOINED to the LORD, not Israel, read verse 6 again.

and it will be his, THE "LORD" house that all people will be in, supportive scripture, Hebrews 3:6 "But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end."

There it is, we're in his HOUSE, and in his "HOUSE", is all People.

GINOLJC, to all.
first thanks for the reply, but the body of Christ is a metaphor of the vine, which we are the branches. and as a branch we're to bring fort fruit. listen to the Apostle spoke in the Holy Ghost, Colossians 1:6 "Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:"
now the Lord Jesus, John 15:16 "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."

and that fruit is in the Holy Ghost. see Galatians 5:22 & 23.

Romans 7:4 "Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God."

so clearly in scriptures the vine is a metaphor for the body of Christ.

Hope that helped you.
Just because they all speak of fruit does not mean they all speak everything the same.
Israel had to endure to the end and be fruitful to enter the Davidic kingdom on earth and have positions of authority.

It is only the body of Christ that is saved by grace through faith. (I don't think you can find a scripture that says that Israel is saved by grace through faith apart from induction into the body of Christ through faith in Jesus).

Peter was not in the body of Christ, but said it was by grace in Acts 15:11
Noah was saved by grace Genesis 6:8
It has always been by grace through faith and based on the blood of Christ

Isaiah 56:6 Is talking of Gentiles joining themselves to Israel and fearing God...they are proselytes.

Doug I don't know where you went and got off the road at but you might want to consider to reset your GPS and find your way again.
Peter is in the body of Christ just like all who are in the body of Christ. supportive scripture, Acts 10:44 "While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word."
Acts 10:45 "And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 10:46 "For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,"
Acts 10:47 "Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?"

Peter had recieved the HOLY GHOST, correct. now this, 1 Corinthians 12:13 "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit." BINGO, Peter is in the body of Christ.

Excuse me, Peter was a believer in Christ and therefore a member of the body of Christ.
Yes and he was in Christ, the church of God who believed only in the name of Jesus and the gospel of the kingdom...the body of Christ was formed after Acts 9.

The Holy Ghost is not a qualifier of the body of Christ although we in the body are sealed by the Holy Ghost

Sorry, but I am not following you...these Gentiles decided to cleave to the Lord to serve him, to love him, to be his servants and took hold of his covenant as their own, as one born in the land according to Isaiah 56:6

Oh Nooooo, you didn't just say that did you?
He is the Spirit of Truth! And whatever He hears the Father speak He speaks, He is the one who teaches us and guides us into all truth....He is the one who anoints us with His gifts, His Power in us and through us....
The entire Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit! Through the hands of man to write it.
I think I have just witnessed one of the most absurdly false statements ever spoken on this forum....I pray it is in ignorance....well it has to be....that you say this.

Excuse me, Peter was a believer in Christ and therefore a member of the body of Christ.
Peter was a chosen vessel of the Lord...called and chosen to be a disciple of Christ and who Christ named him Peter and upon this rock He would build His church....

“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
— Matthew 16:18 (KJV)
I think that qualifies Peter as being a part of the church since he is the rock it was being built on...:eek::rolleyes::)

Slippery gets slipperier as time moves. The straight testimony is exchanged for the divisive wisdom of men. Presumption is deemed faith and the ability to strain at gnats and swallow camels becomes the measure of insight.

'Will the Son of man find faith on the Earth when he comes'....Jesus. It seems hardly the case.

Reading the various threads with their multitude of words I would have hoped to glean some treasures but frankly, it appears more like a contest of egos. Has truth fallen in the street?..... hmmmmm. The sign posts have all but disappeared and a cauldron of speculations front as the teachings of God's word.

It would be nice if we could all be obedient to 1 Corinthians 1:10...

However, since people have differing views and all seem to want to propagate them, it would seem that we are all working toward the fulfillment of the scripture in question as a command to us.

It is happening....not to where you can see it on the forums....but in congregations of believers from all over.
