It gives the the RESPONSIBILITY to not only DEFEND OURSELVES, but also our families. And what YOU MISSED is that in Matt. 26, Peter was DEFENDING JESUS, and Jesus didn't need defending, it was GOD's purpose for Jesus to be ARRESTED and CRUCIFIED. Thus in Luke 22:36 we find the LAST INSTRUCTIONS to the Disciples (and thereby the church) before going to the Garden.

Or you can throw out Luke 22:36 because it offends your personal sensibilities. And it won't be the FIRST time you've disregarded Scripture, nor, I suspect, the last.

Correction: A FOOL doesn't kill anyone. A Christian protects himself and his family from harm, -- whether it means locking your doors, brandishing a weapon, or using a weapon.

But for @kcnalp, hypocrisy is the norm, otherwise he'd leave his doors (vehicle and home) unlocked; would walk the "bad" neighborhoods at night to reach the "unsaved"; and invite released criminals into his home to "get saved".

But because he's still ALIVE he preaches what he won't practice, but would ENCOURAGE YOU to SUFFER LOSS. And THAT's the OPPOSITE of Christianity, -- it's satanic.

Calm down brother there is nothing Satanic about any of our motivations
The poll shows an overwhelming consensus for the DP, you won, everyone has accepted each others views and moved on

You're making excuses to kill people!

Matthew 26:52
52 But Jesus said to him, "Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword.

"Love your enemies" "Do good to those who hate you" "Do not resist an evil person"

Why pray this if you don't believe God will protect you?

Matthew 6:9-13
9 In this manner, therefore, pray:
13 But deliver us from the evil one.

Calm down brother there is nothing Satanic about any of our motivations ...

When some espouses "Christian" advice which can get someone KILLED, -- THAT'S SATANIC.

Certainly we SHOULD ALL DISREGARD ANYTHING THAT MAN SAYS, and hear from GOD, -- but not everyone is as wise. Some give FULL CREDENCE to a Pastor, Policeman, Politician, and Prevaricator. And it's the "simple" people who @kcnalp endangers.

So I advise the "simple" people who aren't smart enough to see what Jesus accused Peter of, and stake that same claim on dangerous advice.

There are no excuses to kill anyone that will stand on Judgment Day! Each one of us will be held accountable.

"Love your enemies"!

I don't think we directly had a discussion. We could go back and forth with scripture tennis which seems to get us no where.
The OT support DP but the NT doesn't. But for argument sake let's say it is God's law.

God's law now gets passed to man. Man creates a justice system that only works for money.
Most people are convicted for the simple fact they can't afford a defence barrister.

So if u haven't got a spare $100,000 sitting around for legal fees your dead.
Meanwhile if u have money like OJ Simpson you can walk free. My sister's ex partner is a defence barrister...
It's not pretty my friend, there is no right or wrong for them, only win and lose and money

Is that the system that should enact God's law? A system that Satan has twisted through the manifestation of money?

Let's say for every 3 or 4 executions one of them is wrong. Is that still worth it?

Well said! The system is highly corrupt and to sentence someone to death is murder!

Maybe you are the tool God uses to defend your family? Faith is active. It doesn't sit and wait for God to act.

According to what? Certainly not the NT.
Certainly the NT.
"again, how can anyone enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house."

Luke 22:36 “He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.”

Psalm 82:4 “Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

Exodus 22:2-3 “If a thief is found breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no bloodguilt for him, but if the sun has risen on him, there shall be bloodguilt for him. He shall surely pay. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.”

The NT not only supports the Death Penalty, it does so to protect BOTH the responsibility of the Government and the preservation of the Christian. And no further rationalizations, arguments, man's logic, or emotions will change GOD's dictates.

End of discussion.

You haven't shown one NT Scripture that supports the death penalty!

Practice what you preach. Pick up hitchhikers, don't lock your car, don't lock your house, etc., and have your family notify me of your outcome.

Bobby Jo
What does that have to do with murdering INNOCENT people because of your self righteousness?
