If you could sit down with yourself 10 or 15 years ago, what scriptural / spiritual advice would you give yourself?

I would quote Romans 4:17 more than I do now. I would profess 2Tim. 1:7 until I got down in my spirit.Moses

To stay pliable as I learn. In doing so, being willing to tell myself that what I once thought was it, the only way it could be understood...may not be. To allow His Spirit to teach me not only through His Word but through other children of God, those the Spirit is also teaching.

Renew my strength and guide my walk with you.So that I may do your will and not my own. Isaiah 40:31 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Philippians 4:13 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Make you number one priority your relationship with the Lord. Get to know him, love him and tell him every day how much you love him.

It is the Holy Spirit that does the real Work. You will play a minor role in the process. All Praise The Ancient Of Days

I have overlooked this thread for days bec I have been a Christian for less than 3 years probably. Now, that I finally opened it - I want to ask - why is spiritual advice I would have given myself 10-15 yrs ago not valid or cared about?Or was it just an unconscious slip, with no slight intended?Thank you, Elaine

I was interested particularly in wisdom that took years to come to people.I'm not saying that other wisdom isn't valid or cared about, just not the subject of this thread. The only spiritual advice to a non-Christian is to become a Christian, until then they are "in the flesh". You can give such people worldly wisdom, "common sense" advice, but there is a hidden wisdom that comes when you have God's Spirit within to show you God's way of doing things.

To never listen to the opinions of men or their doctrinal believes to have no preconceived ideas ...to go directly to Gods Words let him give youthe wisdom.. All wisdom comes from him ...listening to men's opinions denominational beliefs only serve to confuse and filter you from hearing Gods wisdom. Learning Gods Word through men's opinions and denominational beliefsis the equivalent of a parent trying to re-raise a child after he has become an adult and formed his opinions. Putting one in a position to be able to fully hear Gods wisdom ...one must first unlearn what they have been told.
