Lol - now that’s just dreaming !! ( and it wouldn’t have been, I would think the whole of Brighton would have been out celebrating - you should have seen it here when we went up to the premier league ! )
Rita
@Rita I have to confess not to being into football: what over there is called football, what over here is called soccer...

Yes, think it’s the same Farouk x
I am not a big fan, just follow it to share with my dad and take an interest in what he likes x

Well my twin brother can finally visit from Germany on the 11th July, Boris has lifted the 14 days quarantine rule - so I will get to see him this year after all x
It’s kind of weird having everything opening up today- although the care home is allowing visitors, but in a controlled way and only outside in a special area - however the weather is awful today , wet and windy, so not sure how they will do it with the good old British summer weather !!
I guess the 4th July celebrations will be slightly different this year in some parts of the US - hope the weekend goes well for you all.

@Rita Glad there's a bit more openness over there; the quarantine over here has just been extended...

Our restrictions were quite strict , but people were just choosing not to comply at times. This week saw many restrictions lifted- and we got the heat wave. I am only allowed to socialise with six people otherwise I have to take two weeks off work - and that’s official. Brighton beach is not generally known for topless- we have an official nudist beach, further along by our marina and it’s protected from view.
Rita
@Rita Sounds like you do still have quite a lot of restrictions still. Yes, you're right; there is a difference between naturist and topless. On the Continent of Europe for decades now there has been topless; the idea of getting an even tan is so widespread that it doesn't even seem to be questioned now. Anyway, the who thing of regulating distancing on crowded beaches is very hard, I'm sure, let alone anyone trying vainly to regulate topless. This whole virus thing makes beaches very complicated for the authorities.

They have lifted restrictions on pub opening so what happens? - all these people who have felt deprived of their beer swamp some towns and cities. I read of one guy so drunk he had to be rescued from the river twice in one night. It's total madness. I shall stay in until I feel safe to go out which may take a few more weeks.

@Rita Sounds great; actually there was a huge amount of rain near us yesterday, although we ourselves didn't get any, funnily enough. Let hope your barbecue doesn't get rained off...

We haven't had a fun chat thread in awhile. Anyone want some coffee? I had me some premium roast this morning from my Keurig, but only because I drank all my hazelnut. :p How is everyone? Any good devotions or Bible passages y'all been reading lately?

My coffee world has fallen apart. I have my own cappuccino maker and I make one every lunchtime to finish off lunch. It has decided to give up the ghost and will no longer heat the coffee or froth the milk.

My daughter has given me her coffee pod coffee maker because she doesn't have room for it but it is not the same as a real cappuccino maker. So unless I can figure out why it has gone troppo I will be reduced to pod machine until I can afford another cappuccino maker and knowing my tastes that ain't going to be cheap.

Sounds like you lived in Italy, to be such a connoisseur of cappuccinos...

@Pearl So did you have any heavy rain? we were forecast possible thunderstorms but they didn't materialize in our area, anyway...
Hi farouk. We had a lot of rain on Tuesday but yesterday was ok so our son came to do our garden and then it started raining again after he'd gone.

Here it's turned out bright and cloudless, seemingly.

@Pearl: Your son managed to get his work done in your yard just in time!

@Rita: There's a window of months in Canada when barbecues are a possibility. (I guess it's more a matter of several weeks in the UK rather than months...)
