Isaiah 58:1-2 Cry aloud, spare not , lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew My People their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of Me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
- God's people seek Him, delight to learn of Him and yet He instructs Isaiah to show them that they are transgressing. What are they/we doing to cause that reprimand?
- This is much as the rich making a big show of tithing when Jesus admired the poor woman giving a small amount as it was all she had. Instead of our fast He wants us to choose His fast.....
- We are to help the needy always but the deeper meaning is...the bread we have been given, knowledge of our Father, we are to share with those that hunger for it, to bring those that wander in the world into our home, our family, the house of the Lord.
- If we choose His fast, His way of instruction, His Words...not our words, our ways, our pleasure then....He will guide us continually and provide the living water needed to sustain us and clothe the needy He sends us to.
