Just out of interest does anyone use audio Bibles? What are your thoughts on audio Bibles compared to reading one? Perhaps you might use both, listen to an audio Bible and follow along reading your Bible.

I've never used audio bibles as it doesn't seem the same to hear rather than read the word. But then the bible does say faith comes through hearing.

Hmmm, that's what I was thinking, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

Some people do even suggest reading the Bible out aloud.

I did try listening to an audio Bible for the first time today on the Bible app, 1st chapter of Genesis. I think the great thing about it is you can just shut your eyes, relax and listen, which is great if you feel tired. :)

With my last vehicle when I was driving more out alone I would pop a CD of the Bible into the player and listen. Two things happened. One was not long after our car was stolen we got a new car. I assumed it would have a CD player in it as standard equipment, but I was wrong. Someday I might get one to plug in, but with this lockdown thing, the second occurrence, I don't drive very much at present. At home I read my hard bound Bibles offline and use Bibles in my computer for reference when online. I don't regular read or listen to Bibles on my computer or online.

I was an A grade student in Maths but a D grade student in English, my reading isn't great
So for me the audio is terrific. My preferred method is to follow the text but you can listen to it in the car, on the bus, wherever.
The dramatized ones r kool. I can't do KJV but. I can do NIV, ESV, anything but the KJV

I certify this, as Pearl said, "faith comes by hearing", as so the bible. it never said who you have to hear it from, YOU YOURSELF, BY READING IT ALOUD. it made a big difference with me.

About 18 years ago, I began reading my Bibles out loud. I have never stopped. I don't do it only when I am reading around others and it might disturb them. I always do it when I am alone doing my normal daily reading, study and spending personal time with God. It also had made a big difference with me. From that time [2002] I do not remember missing a single day. That is not a brag. That has been and is for me a vital necessity to overcome the ways of the flesh that at times have assailed me.

I listen to audio Bible every day. That's something I love about Family Radio, is that they often read the Scriptures, up to 1/2 an hour, several times a day.

Much love!

I listen to audio bible but I much prefer audio drama bible, I just don't like straight audio reading

Same here. Their good the dramatized ones, different people doing different characters, the audio is better, it's like a production compared to a person reading

Yep it would, there's not much good on the radio in Australia these days anyway.

But I do love the classical stations. Many of the other stations tend to voice their poor opinions about everything from the sound bites they have heard, and more likely about.

I have observed that people who get involved with their "worship songs" or religious tapes, can become so distracted that they become a danger to everybody else on the road, while driving.

Ive found them great to listen to at work, but have noticed my mind wanders, and need to rewind it often. For me reading goes in better, but we all learn differently don’t we? I always think of the verse you posted though :)

Yes I have used an audio bible such as: scourby audio bible - Bing video which is good.

But as I read the bible, my faith is increased better, listening to what GOD is saying from the scriptures for wisdom, knowledge, and some understandings.

Love always, Walter
