After Adam and Eve took of the tree of knowledge of good and evil...they were naked in the garden.
  • Genesis 3:10 And he said, I heard Thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
God tells us that what has happened will again happen.

  • 1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
  • Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Knowing that...where else do we read of being "naked in the garden?" What is the lesson in this?

  • John 18:1 When Jesus had spoken these words, He went forth with His disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which He entered, and His disciples.
This garden is...the Garden of Gethsemane where Judas betrayed Him with a kiss. His disciples didn't remain with Him.....

  • Mark 14:50-52 And they all forsook Him, and fled. And there followed Him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.
The "young man" isn't named. To me, this young man represents the man child, or one of the men children, of end times...for there are many more of God's very elect than one. Although those pretending to be of Christ also wear linen in order to deceive the linen is to signify....

  • Revelation 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
This young man, man child, follower of Christ, wore linen but....he fled in the hour he should have watched. "The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak." [Mark 14:38] When he left his linen garment, his righteousness....he was then "naked in the garden."

As Jesus was betrayed, as His followers fled, it will again happen for this too was an "example upon whom the ends of the world are come." At the end of days some will be delivered...just as was our Savior.

  • Amos 2:16 And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.
Will we hide when we hear His voice? Will we flee "naked in the garden?" Or, will we stand and wear our linen garments?
