We are not made in the likeness of angels.
at least you got that one right..... o_O

Gen. 1:26 - "Let US ...."

There are a number of interpretations of this scripture given by Bible experts.

The oft-used trinitarian explanation is only one (and probably the least likely).

One other is that the only-begotten Son of God was present at this time.

Another recognizes that the brothers of the Word, "the sons of God" (angels), were also present.

Another, less likely, interpretation is that God is simply using the 'Royal We' as was used by royalty throughout the ages ("We are not amused.").

.......................................
"God is one" is used frequently in the scriptures, but "God is three" never is.
In fact, the word 'three' is never used for God.
thanks for the reply. second, did you not hear what the Lord Jesus said?, Matthew 19:4 "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female," and he who which made them at the beginning was "ALONE" and "BY HIMSELF". meaning that Jesus as his own ordinal self as "FIRST", title LORD... Father, is the only one in Genesis 1:26 who made man, for the very next verse prove this out. it is he, Jesus as his own ordinal self as "LAST" who testified to this fact in Matthews 19:4, and Mark 10:6 and Jesus cannot LIE. we suggest you read post #115 again also.

so no, you error in your thinking that it was three. understand, God is an Echad of the ordinal "FIRST", and the ordinal "LAST". not an Echad of unity, NO, but the "DIVERSITY" of himself in Flesh, better known as the the "Offspring" of God in flesh.

as the topic states "WHY THE TRINITY?" well why not? because any doctrine have to be bible based. no where have God said I AM three persons.
the mechanics of the trinity just don't add up... or work. we would like to get into the mechanics of the trinity.

#1. God is always describe as a plurality, but of "ONE" and this is where many a Christian get confused at. how can a plurality be "ONE". we must re-new our minds. question, God gave all of us a spirit, which comes from him... right. so is your spirit different from my spirit? is your spirit bigger than my spirit, or is your spirit overweight and mines not? or do your spirit needs eye glasses? see, that's carnal thinking, because those things pertain to the the NATURAL flesh. God is not carnal, he is spiritual. carnal thinking is like this, God impregnated a woman ... and he did it the good old fashion way.. are you kidding me. oh well, but this is where a many of our christian friends are at.

but let's look closley at God's plurality of "ONE", meaning the same Person. let's it be bible based. OT, Isaiah 63:5 "And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me."

God's "OWN ARM?", yes, scripture, Isaiah 53:1 "Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?"
Isaiah 53:2 "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him."
STOP here for a second. GOD'S OWN ARM IS A HE? YES, HE, HIS OWNself, THERE IS GOD'S PLURALITY OF ONE. his "own" ARM, is him manifested in flesh, the ordinal Last. just like your OWN arm is not a separate person from you. nor is God's own ARM a separate person from him. (read that again)

now, by God being his OWN ARM in flesh, a few few question comes to mind. A. how did he do it. B. how do it answers the question "why he, Jesus the Arm of God didn't know his "own" return date". C. his own plurality also answer the question, "why the Father is greater than him". it answer who the Holy Ghost is that came on pentecost.. ... it just goes on and on answering questions concering the Godhead. but the big ones as we have touched on, it answeres the "us" and the "our" question in Genesis 1:26... as well as the Matthews 3:16 & 17 question of was there three at the baptism... but as said it answers all the hard question concering the trinity, or as said the Lack of a trinity.

so maybe next time we mightr look the "ARM" of God in a clear example of a plurality. and understand Isaiah 63:5.

Correct. The name of the eternal God who is the same yesterday, to-day, and for ever, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting is Jesus. Hebrews 13:8 and Micah 5:2.

When the apostle John was given the vision of Revelation, he was moved to fall down to worship at the feet of the angel who delivered the message. But he was warned 'DO NOT DO THAT'

Its interesting that the angel did not tell John to worship Jesus...he told him to 'worship God'

Rev 19:9 And he tells me, “Write: Happy are those invited to the evening meal of the Lamb’s marriage.” Also, he tells me: “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 At that I fell down before his feet to worship him. But he tells me: “Be careful! Do not do that! I am only a fellow slave of you and of your brothers who have the work of witnessing concerning Jesus. Worship God! For the witness concerning Jesus is what inspires prophecy.”

The Angel differentiates between Jesus and God. The trinity idea does not. Notice how the Angels says he is "a fellow slave of john and has the work of witnessing concerning Jesus. Worship God!"

Why does the angle not say, Worship Jesus?

Please note that the name of the Messiah in Hebrew is made up of two words, the first word is Yah which means "Eternal" and is the name of God, the second word is Yasha which means "Savior". Jesus is therefore a wrong translation and brings much confusion, correctly the verse would say in English: "I am only a fellow slave of you and of your brothers who have the work of witnessing concerning of the Eternal Savior. Worship God!"

JESUS is a transliteration, and not a translation. for the transliteration of Jesus is correct for Yeshua, Strong's # H3442.
No, the correct english transliteration of the Hebrew name is Yahsha (modern: Yeshua) and not Jesus.

thanks for the reply, but do you understand the difference between a transliteration and a translation?

The name Yahsha contains all the letters and sounds that an English-speaking person can pronounce easily, so Yahsha is the correct transliteration.

All through the Bible Jesus is spoken of as God.
And by everyone for 6000 years who knows God...... even when there were only two people, or eight people....
and how many ? 3000 plus in ACTS ? i.e. NT and however they knew God as God Revealed to them in the OT since creation.

agreed, even if his name was not given, nor was he manifested in the flesh then, but was to come. all the apostles, and church fathers, and disciples knew Jesus is God.

There is only ONE God. He is revealed in scripture as his WILL, His WORDS and his Character of holiness, his own HOLY SPIRIT. That is difficult to understand, that is, how each aspect of himself can separate and do a particular function. We are made in the image of God, and if you will, have the same attributes, but of course not in a holy completed form, nor are we able to separate each, but all three are united in a flesh body. The difficulty arises when we see the WORD in a flesh form. John 1:14. The flesh form was the second Adam, but the nature of God, was inside of the man, the WORD of God. This man , Jesus, God's WORD made Flesh, has God sent to redeem mankind, and has highly exulted him.

first thanks for the reply, but there is no difficulty of God coming in the flesh. Philippians 2:6 explain it clearly. the difficulty comes when people all their life have been brainwashed into believing a lie. the RE-NEWING of one's mind is where the problem lay. the bible have not changed, it's people. I know this, because I been teaching diversified oneness for a while now. and when I encounter someone who have not been taught the trinity, they pick up diversified oneness instantly. only once when someone was intrentched with a doctrine for a long time did they come to the truth of diversity. and that's rare, most of the time it takes .... time. which I cannot blame someone who have been believing a certian way all their life.

people are intelligent, that good, but it takes more than intelligent to accept the truth. they must first come face to face with the truth themselves.
