I've written songs, inspired by Him, that are about things He's done with me. These are always the most anointed and will touch wounded hearts that hear.

Absolutely. Keep it real. The trouble with a significant portion of Christian music today is that it comes off as fake; like they are trying to say what they think might be fashionable; what they are supposed to say. But if left to write about what is real, they don't have much to say because there is not a lot of reality going on in their lives with God. Thankfully there are also many who are different, and write from genuine relationships with God.

I also believe in keeping it real on Forums as well. I have been accused of trying to glorify myself also, but it will never stop me from attesting to what He has made of me. I would be a dead man, but He has saved me and brought me into newness of life in Him, and He honors me by manifesting Himself through me, to the glory of the Father. To say anything else is just false humility, and a form of cowardice before men. Not something to be commended in any Christian.

Hi. If I was promoting myself, that would be a problem. The anointing comes from God. I learned about leading worship because the anointing taught me. I never learned not to talk about it. In fact, I talk about what God has done with me so far because it brings glory to Him. I know He is listening. I believe it pleases Him. And it freshens the living water in me. Which allows me and those around me to drink fresh water. I have often referred to myself as a tap. I've written songs, inspired by Him, that are about things He's done with me. These are always the most anointed and will touch wounded hearts that hear. He once told me, "What I am doing in you, I will do through you." I am now learning to use the vocal gifts He has given me (proclamation and prophetic utterance). Pride and unbelief are opposite sides of the same coin. As well as being the 2 cardinal sins upon which satan leads man to build in His heart. Yahweh will send storms to knock them down. Ezekiel 13. Also see: "The Divine Plumbline, by Doctor Bruce Thompson, University Of The Nations." God will bring the plumb line of His word alongside these man-made walls to show how out of plumb they are. Scripture calls this condition the stony heart, which God says He will replace with a heart of flesh, if we allow Him to. If these walls come down, it will cause mental illness, as is what the Pink Floyd movie, "The Wall" is about. God alone can restore him to mental health. I know this sounds harsh, because it is. This experience has taught me to say, "I'd rather be slapped with the truth than to be kissed with a lie." If you still think I'm highlighting myself, then we have a differing of opinions. We can both agree to disagree without being disagreeable. "When I am old, do not forget me, until I have declared your power to the next generation. Your might to all who will come." Psalm 71:18b Shalom.
Ok, so I state my belief that humility is not thinking of yourself, which by the way is what I see of Christ and His Apostles, and you in turn reply with apologetics for your anointing?

Is anointing a bad word? My son has told me that because of the way I talk, those who don't know me may think I'm not being straight with them. He says that because he knows me, he knows I'm being straight with him. Wimber once said that God once told him,"John, preach my word, not your experience." I've never preached, whatever that is. I thought we were talking. As a result of an overdose 20 years ago, I have what is called, "an aquired brain injury." Perhaps this is coming into play? Looking forward to hearing from you. Shalom.

True humility is, in my understanding, to see myself for who and what I really am. I know no other interpretation. Peace.

Keep in mind Jesus didn't come seeking His own, and He didn't think meanly of Himself, as a matter of fact he only thought of you, me, marks, hidden in him, etc,etc..

I see a blood bought, work in progress son of the Living God, a citizen of the Kingdom Of Heaven, which has all come to me from His hand of mercy and grace. I see a reborn spirit, a heart that was once as black as coal, but is slowly looking cleaner all the time. I believe that I am washing my wedding garments in the blood of the Lamb of God. Shalom.

Sorry, but after seeing the glory and majesty of the Lord, I'm not impressed with any of us, including myself. Peace.

God comes in the likeness of sinful flesh takes on the role of servant, no thought or cares of Him own self. And the disciples dispute " whom will be chiefest " He answers the greatest servant among will be.

Hi. I guess I thought I was doing that. I do know that selfish ambition is a fruit of the carnal nature. But since He's not done with me, there is a real possibility that this is in me. I guess I'm testing some people's patience, but this street goes both ways. As long as we all hang in there, I believe things will work out good for all of us. Overall, I'm getting a much-needed spiritual workout. I hope I'm not jumping the gun, but I think I've found, or rather, God has led me to, my temporary home. Shalom.

LoL! I suppose there can be an anointing for that, yes, if the Lord calls you to be the washingest son of a gun on the planet or something. But it means in general that there rests upon you an empowerment from the Spirit of God to do a particular thing; preach, teach, lead worship, etc. In Charismatic circles, they can always tell when someone is anointed and when they are not. When they are, the Presence of God is noticeable in everything they do and say. If not and they are simply in the flesh, it is dry as dust. If it's bad enough, or if there is in actuality an evil spirit present, it makes you want to run for the exits.

Lol! You guys are funny. I didn't think I should've mentioned that once I decided to show my love to God by service, the first thing I did at the church was wash dishes. Lol
