whats your take on the hotcold deal? im wondering now if like apathy is not being addressed maybe
I hear your question and, yes, I do see a difference between the apathetic person and the fence riding person wanting to receive the best of both worlds.

We have this one already cited regarding the one wanting the best of both worlds:

"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." Rev 3:15-16

And we have this one regarding someone one too busy with his own things to consider what God is offering at all [your apathetic fellow]:

"And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them." Matt 22:3-6

In Revelation someone puts something else on a par with the things of God. In Matthew someone puts something above the things of God. The response in both cases from God's point of view should be here:

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt 6:33

When they saw the good in Jesus and called it evil, they were betraying themselves as well as sinning against the Spirit. This can reach a point of no return where someone is spiritually insane.<--- A scary place to be, for sure!

You are wasting your time praying for people who return evil for good; and you are endangering yourself spiritually by tying yourself to them. They can be like vampires sucking the Life and Light out of you. I cannot tell anyone where the line gets drawn; but I've reached it a few times -- I simply gave up completely on some people. I loved them once, but I cut those ties -- if they choose the path to hell, I will not pray for them, I will not be dragged down with them by tying my fate to theirs. Maybe Paul would call it delivering them to Satan. <--- Sounds about right they should be put out. When other "Christians" return evil for good...it's not something you forget easily. I've been there in spades and have come out the other end with much better discernment.

Does it mean those people are going to be eternally damned? I don't think so. If I stop enabling them, that might make them shape up. I don't count on it; but if enough people stopped enabling them, they would have a better chance at seeing the errors of their ways than if they continue to view good people as prey. What it may mean is that no one will bear their burdens for them -- not me, not Jesus, not anyone. They will pay a penalty then.<---Yes, God sees all and, nobody get's away with a thing. Where's their conscience's? Sitting in Church every Sunday with their "Church face" on meanwhile, stabbing another Christian in the back certainly seems like a good reason to turn that person our and deliver them to Satan. Or, if a brother or sister can cause them to see the error of their ways then:

James 5:19-20
"19 My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, 20 consider this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and cover over a multitude of sins.…"

And yes, I agree that the parable of the wicked servant does point to the un-pardonable sin. He will be held responsible for his sins.

Shakespeare wrote: "He that dies pays all debts." I think there is a similar Jewish saying. Body and soul may be destroyed, but the spirit can still be saved.

1 Corinthians 5:5
I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus."

Good Post!

WHAT IS THE SIN UNTO DEATH?
OP ^

I would say unforgiven sin.
Examples:

*Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
*Marked with the Anti-Christ's Allegience Of "His" Mark.
*Physical Death having steadfast Rejected/Denied God...or Lord God If one knew of Him.

Glory to God,

That should say "unforsaken" not "unforgiven".

I wouldn't say either or, depending on the individual.
From my perspective;
Meaning:
Death like most words in scripture have a double Understanding:
Man's; physical Bodily mortal Death
Gods; ^ Same and also; per context
* sleep- a temporary Bodily death
* death- any part of man- body, soul, spirit of man (alive physically or dead physically) separated from God.

* Every Individual body- has its own Life-
Blood
* Every Individual body- has its own spirit-
Truth
(In its heart)...a constant Truth.
*Every Individual body- has its own thoughts-
Mind
(Can be in harmony with the heart, or deceiving and quite opposite of the Heart...
Which spiritually results in frustration and physically can lead to a whole array of clinically identified ailments)
* Every Individual body- has Life from God-
Soul

God offers a man- promises, order, way- to Become MADE- what He calls WHOLE- which is: an Offering, from God
is: Dependant upon an Individual:
* to Hear, Know the Offer Exists
* Learn what the Offer entails
* Decide IF he Agrees with the Offering
* Decide IF he Wants to Accept the Offering
* Follow the WAY (how to) Accept the Offering.

All Blood LIFE Will Die.
* a man can simply wait for that to happen.
* a man can choose to Offer his known bodily upcoming death..To God.
(Paralleled with a man Willing to Give "his" life, so that an other can continue Living).

* The Forgiveness- preludes the Order (via Repenting) of one Giving their Life .. TO God.
* The Repenting- To God, is the HIGHLIGHT.
Man is naturally Born "NOT" Knowing, Believing, Loving God.
* Man HAS, Life from Gods Breath- Soul in him.
* Man's condition, from Natural Birth, (unknowing) God, Effects the Condition "negatively" of The soul within the man.
A Mystery of Sorts-
Holy Breath of God, in a soul, in a man, that such man IS Corrupt FLESH, "not with", NOT in harmony With God.

It is man's recognition - to Repent for having had, natural Disbelief...a Corrupt body, having that body's Corrupt influence over the soul.

It is the individuals Willingness to Hear and Learn:
That Begins Gods Response: (ORDER)
Enlightment of Gods Truth...
Blessing from God...measures of His Gift of Faith.
(Man who continues hearing...continues, RECEIVING)
It is the individuals Confessing, Acknowledging, Repenting...asking for forgiveness...
That Begins Gods Response to the man by the man Receiving Gods Forgiveness...and Saving the soul (from "being" Corrupt (separated from God).

(The man Deciding to Give his Body...having his Spirit quickened...etc. are all part of the ORDER and WAY...(of what ALL His Offer entails) and often is Rolled into the man's One Accepting Event, ceremony, whatever you want to call it)...yet it has a precise Order and Way.

When a man Has Received Salvation of the SOUL within him...His Flesh Body IS Still Subject TO Physical Death.

As a Physical Body IS Approaching Physical Death...The Living Soul (Saved or Not) departs out from the Body.

In Those Few seconds...
The Mind of that individual, can still have thoughts...(some claim a fast frame of ones Whole Life or thinking of their family they love).

And I believe a man with a Saved soul And Quickened spirit And Spirit of God And Mind like Christ (meaning his Minds thoughts have become subject to his hearts "spirit" thought...
has flash acknowledgement...to put in simple terms...uh hey, where's Gods Spirit in me, where's my Saved soul, where's my Quickened spirit....that has departed my dying (NOT yet Dead) Body.

It clear Gods Life, God Himself or Life He has put in a Vessel...does not Dwell IN a physically Dead thing....Gods LIFE leaves, departs JUST Before the thing (alive body and mindful thoughts ) physically Dies.

I believe Jesus taught by Word and Example.
As Jesus' Body was "DYING", he Revealed his thought for our benefit, to comprehend...at the seconds a mans Physical Body is about to Physically Die...he will be Mindfully aware his soul, spirit and Gods Spirit has Departed his body.
Jesus revealed it as a Flash Thought and used the word "forsaken", which means: Left, Departed.
That word "Forsaken" can also mean "abandoned".
It's a word typically understood as a Negative thing.
My understanding in this scenario, is moreso as a Positive thing. Not "abandoned", but rather God "claiming, taking unto Himself, the very thing I agreed to Give Him".
I believe Jesus was demonstrating...
* in a matter of a few seconds the mind can process the departure of his soul, spirit, Gods Spirit and Have an immediate Minds reaction of huh, what just happened, where are you, and before reasoning, The Body becomes physically dead.

Point being...is a (Converted) man's Body in the process of physically dying...forsaken?

Well...Gods Does Leave/Depart that dying (but yet still alive Body)...

But it is Not an Abandomemt, but rather a Claiming by God.
And the BODY, called in context, SLEEP, denoting, intended to be Raised, in An Eternal Life state.

Glory to God,
Taken
