"There is no shadow of turning with thee! Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not, as thou hast been, thou forever shall be!"

I love the hymns!

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

God does not have shadow.....he lives in unapproachable light.

I would say, hidden from the eyes of those who do not see.
What do people see? Solomon said that and then people found the the Glory of God filled the Temple. What had once been in darkness was revealed.

whether God has a shadow or not could be argued, but the repentant can approach no problem. anyway, the debate section is somewhere else, isn't it?

if you read scripture you would know that:

1Ki 8:5 And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

that would create a cloud of some considerable smoke wouldn't it.

Perhaps you can expand on what you mean Giuliano........what was it that was in darkness?

All who are truly repentant, whose heart yearns for greater light.....who thirst for the water of life, can approach with confidence.

God is everywhere -- even in think darkness. When invited properly, the earthly Temple Solomon built was filled with the Glory and Light of God. Surely that also means that man, a dark creature, can be changed into a being of Light. The Light is there, all along, but not revealed yet. The light concealed in the darkness is changed into revealed light.

We could also think of man as a "shadow" of God. The outline is there. . . .
