Hi there CB members i have been studying this topic for quite some time now and i wanted to share with you some bible based study on the holy spirits role as a teacher:

1st of all lets clearly identify who the holy spirit is. Hes Gods spirit teaching us as beleivers. John 14:26, John 14:16, John 15:26, John 16:7 and John 16:13.

Secondly i want yall to realize that its the holy spirit doing the teaching in all matters. Although i am a staff member dont think of me as your teacher im receive my teaching from the goly spirit therefor it is the holy spirit who teaches not i or any other man. 1st John 2:27.

God bless :)

Hi gumby. I was hoping that in your protracted study of the Holy Spirit as Teacher, you could tell me what our Apostle, Paul, had to say about it? I know you would have good insights to what he wrote. Please share them with all.

Thanks for the confidence Mike but I don't want to high jack Gumby's thread. Let's allow Gumby to relate his experiences first.

I don't know if patience is going to work here, jiggyfly, 'cause I'm still waiting too. Gumby may have opted out for something easier.

1Corinthians 2:4-6
And my message and my preaching were very plain. I did not use wise and persuasive speeches, but the Holy Spirit was powerful among you.I did this so that you might trust the power of God rather than human wisdom.Yet when I am among mature Christians, I do speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind of wisdom that belongs to this world, and not the kind that appeals to the rulers of this world, who are being brought to nothing

1Cor. 2:10-13
But we know these things because God has revealed them to us by his Spirit, and his Spirit searches out everything and shows us even God's deep secrets. No one can know what anyone else is really thinking except that person alone, and no one can know God's thoughts except God's own Spirit. And God has actually given us his Spirit (not the world's spirit) so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.When we tell you this, we do not use words of human wisdom. We speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths.

Romans 15:13-16
So I pray that God, who gives you hope, will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in him. May you overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. I am fully convinced, dear brothers and sisters, [fn]that you are full of goodness. You know these things so well that you are able to teach others all about them. Even so, I have been bold enough to emphasize some of these points, knowing that all you need is this reminder from me. For I am, by God's grace,a special messenger from Christ Jesus to you Gentiles. I bring you the Good News and offer you up as a fragrant sacrifice to God so that you might be pure and pleasing to him by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:17-19
So it is right for me to be enthusiastic about all Christ Jesus has done through me in my service to God. I dare not boast of anything else. I have brought the Gentiles to God by my message and by the way I lived before them.I have won them over by the miracles done through me as signs from God--all by the power of God's Spirit. In this way, I have fully presented the Good News of Christ all the way from Jerusalem clear over into Illyricum.

According to Paul, the gifts and the fruits of the HolySpirit are part of communicating the gospel ( the message of God's limitless grace) and it seems they are just as important as the plain preaching with words.

Gumby has some extra forum privileges, I think. So can tag whatever he wants as important. It does not really matter if it is or not though.

Mike.

Like the fact that im god :D

Just kidding, but ya a new chapter of my faith has been re-opened the holy spirit has lead me to my freinds old baptist church that i used to go to about five years ago. I go there for the in depth bible study they have. Although im non-denominatinal i still like going there and being in unity with the other christians of the town, the pastor is really nice to and from what i can tell thats a church that i dont mind paying tithes to because they actually teach gods word in depth and uplifting the way it should be. I feel the holy spirit is energizing me more and more with this new church, i think maybe the holy spirit can touch some people in that church and shake them as i have been shaken and empowered by the holy spirit.

God bless you mike :)

Brother mike i appreciate the complaments but im not your teacher. Your very kind but i say to you know who your teacher is, your teacher as well as my teacher is the holy spirit. You see you must be lost. Matthew 16:24, Matthew 16:25, Matthew 16:27, Matthew 10:39, Mark 8:35, Luke 9:24, Luke 17:33 and John 12:25. I ask you all here on CB have you lost your life for christ? have you lost evrything of your old self and evrything belonging to this world. You see as christians the bible makes it very clear we need to be lost to the world and in line with the world that god needs us in. We need to prepare for the lords work and will that he wants us to do not the worlds will. As christians we need to serve as a swift witness against this corrupt lost world and we need to testify through the word that this world is evil and the things in it. And the last step after witnessing against the world is go and make some diciples out of all who are willing to accept christ. Go and prepare people and minister to them go and show them the way though christ blood on the cross. Through your actions and through your being it is our responsibility to set the example and show gods love and mercy, there maybe a little chastizment and molding the lord needs to do but thats how god forms people in the image of christ as his diciples.

OK, Brother Gumby.......... I see. The Holy Spirit is our teacher, and that no man teach us. That is scripture.

I asked for you to post more on Your Holy Spirit Study. That is your thread topic.

Now............ Lets just pretend, that God called someone as yourself to teach. Under what Power are you going to use to teach the people?

Lets get a few scriptures shall we?

Luk 4:18
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

2Co 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

So, if Jesus filled with the Holy Ghost came right after being filled, and said I am now anointed to preach. Where would that anointing come from to preach? Could it be the Holy Spirit?

and if we are anointed, and Stay filled with the Spirit of God, (Not wine ) Would it be possible to consider that someone teaching that was filled with the Holy Spirit, and anointed would Would be using that anointing from the Holy Spirit to preach and teach? If that is possible, then Would it be the Holy Spirit using that person to Preach and teach the Word of God, not the man teaching?

Now, if your anointed and filled with the Holy Spirit, could you under that anointing give the rest of your Holy Spirit teaching? and have it just as if the Holy Spirit is teaching but using you?

Be blessed..

Jesus Is Lord.

Thats the thing with the holy spirit mike its random. Its very random sometimes i dont know what to teach or even pray for as a beleiver. The only logical answer i can give you is that hes shaking me and pushing me to minister to my local church and also here at CB. Sometimes to be honest i dont feel worthy to be called a christian or even a teacher. The only thing i can say is repent evryone of you and be baptized in the name of the father son and holy spirit. The rest i can advise and preach and even try to comfort with but the true meat must be discoverd on your own. The true path in the lords will must be a path that you yourself persue and i cant make that path happen for you. The only thing i can say is talk to your father and ask of him. Ask of him what is your will for me ask of him how can i serve and be used for you today. Only he knows the answers to the questions that you have.

God bless you

Well, go with your heart. That is the Holy Spirit. Minister to the local Church.

You be worthy or how you feel about it, does not matter.

Few years ago the Lord asked me to Pastor a Church............What is the Lord thinking? I knew nothing about running a church. The thing is, God does, but we don't look at it that way.

I told the Lord, I can't Pastor or Church, I am not worthy to even Pastor a Church. The Lord then Spoke to me, (Not a voice, but inside) he said, You believed me, and never doubted when your son was sick with Cancer, You stood on my word six months unmoving when coughing up blood, you believed me when your back was hurting so bad for 3 weeks and you cried yourself to sleep. Just teach them what you know, teach them to trust me and have faith in What I said. That is all I am asking you to do.

Brother Gumby, there is more in you than you realize, stuff God has been adding though the years, your experiences though the years. We are more in the plan than we think. There is stuff God has shown you that He can use, Stuff only you understand, stuff that people will only listen to if it is coming out of your mouth.

You being unworthy or worthy has nothing to do with anything. Look at Moses, when God asked him to lead the people, all of a sudden Moses don't speak to well, God was not hearing excuses.

Who God appoints, he anoints. If you stay in your area of teaching, don't try to cover things your not sure of, you won't fail. Go for it!!!!

Jesus Is Lord.
