we exchange it the law for something much better—- God’s Holy Spirit. Some have not yet arrived to the Starting Point Of Christianity .They need to “ SHUT UP !”......If the shoe fits, Gerhard, WEAR IT !
The Spirit of God does not exchange Himself for the Law or replaces Scripture, the Law, with Himself. God speaks in Scripture THROUGH SCIPTURE by his Spirit in the Congregation, OF CHRIST, or He does not speak, but is quiet all the while gathering wrath against the haughty.

So, who are your <we> here who chop and change and switch from Scripture to Spirit at will as were the one <better> and the other worse? Blasphemy, they who "use the Name of LORD in vain"!

"God is Spirit" -- "The Lord is Spirit" and Scripture is His Word breathed by Him. Any 'Holy Spirit' disowning his own Word is anyone's FAKE 'Holy Spirit'.

The Ten Commandments—What happened?
I suppose they just got ditched.....people found it more fun without them.....nothing like a bit of lust to get the adrenalin going!

It'll be somewhat of a shock when it's discovered what the rule of judgement is......but anyway, let's put our head in the sand and party....there's plenty of other scriptures to use that
don't point the finger......like New Covenant ideas and that solid understanding that God can change his mind anytime he likes!

No, dear, they were replaced with stronger, deeper commandments of total love. Hate and you'll be judged!

What you are talking about is Antinomianism. No rules at all. Those of us you are debating with on here do not believe in that, so with that in mind, make other arguments than accusing us who believe in stronger laws, not no laws. That is not to say there is not one person who does believe in Antinomianism, but he is not on this thread.

Grace is “ unmerited favor “...... something God extends to Wretched Sinners That come to Him through Faith in the Shed Blood Of His Son.....
All of those Sins that some confused People think you have to remember and repent of before you die, lest you be cast into Hell ? Nope. Grace is what covers all of your sins. “Where sin abounds - Grace abounds more” .Fools can abuse this Grace and even THAT is covered,,,,, so are “ willfull sins” . These are great things to know because everybody out there has taken advantage of Grace at times and almost every sin we commit is a “ willfull” one. We need to “get over ourselves” and realize and Admit that we are much worse than we think we are and simply thank God for His Amazing Grace.......Grace is God’s Mercy in Action.....completely unearned by even the best of us....

It was unmerited favor when Christ died for us when we were yet sinners, but now is the time for you to see what grace is for those who have Christ, who is full of grace and truth, John 1:14. We have the power to forgive others, and not fall to temptation. Let me show you that grace is power. It is what the apostles taught.

2 Peter 1:2-4
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Grace is divine power, because of Christ's power within us.

Acts 4:33
33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.

This is one of the Hebrew styles of writing. It is called a parallelism. The word "great" ties the two, and the next word has a parallel meaning, thus grace is power, and power is a grace of God.

God's Law was "given (added) because of transgression", not because totally depraved's like you and I kept it.

It was added because of transgressions, UNTIL Jesus comes to live inside us. I have Him inside me and have His divine nature. So if you are calling Jesus depraved, be careful. You sound overpowered with rage and hate in all your posts. You need Jesus.

Yes. Yes to everything you say here. Now is it not strange - or to be expected - the opposite conclusions you and I for example arrive at? But we shall reason back and forth into eternity and get nowhere, UNLESS SCRIPTURE BE THE 'FINAL AUTHORITY' - Scripture and only Scripture.

So take for example your story, <<The Sabbath-day has been fulfilled>>, which I say Amen to.

What makes the difference? Because you conclude from <<The Sabbath-day has been fulfilled>> that it is gone - abolished - is no longer valid, while I conclude the exact opposite, That God having “nailed it to the crossIN CHRIST JESUS, in truth and historic fact abolished and rendered the Sabbath Day invalid. But having RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD, He in truth and historic fact brought it up again from abolishment, obsoleteness, invalidity and non-entity and the DEATH of the Sabbath Day, and RAISED it from the grave of oblivion, and brought it back up again as HE WORKED IN CHRIST TO LIFE and gave it “validity forevermore for the people of God"—for CHRISTIANS, because “JESUS gave them Himself their Eternal Rest”!

The Sabbath “THEREFORE” [‘ara’], no longer is just a <type which pointed forward to Christ>, but is also become the "AT PRESENT .. Sabbath's-Feast-of-Christ .. forever LASTING for the PEOPLE OF GOD!HaleluYah!

Where, now, will you place God's <fulfilment of the Sabbath>? At being nailed to the cross, or in being raised from nothing into The Lord's Day of Triumphant Rest?

The laws were given to us because of transgressions, and our only rest was in the Sabbath-day, UNTIL Jesus should come and take away our transgressions. We were crucified with Christ, and are now raised with Him to live like Him. Jesus gives us God's rest. Not one day a week, but in Him.

Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

The Ten Commandments were given so that “ every mouth should be closed”. In other words, swallow you Self -Righteousness and Pride and SHUT UP about your ability to keep them— you and your ilk ain’t fooling anybody—- especially God .Paul said that the Law was only “ Good” if you knew how to use it . It is to be Used to lead us to Christ .At that point,( if you ever reach it ) we exchange it for something much better—- God’s Holy Spirit. Some have not yet arrived to the Starting Point Of Christianity .They need to “ SHUT UP !”......If the shoe fits, Gerhard, WEAR IT !
What a wonderful disguise to cover up your contempt for those who wish to simply be obedient servants. You may have your cheap, lawless brand of grace. I pray God will not charge your deception to your account.

Romans 14 makes it clear that obsession with the Sabbath “ DAY” is for “ weak” Believers....Those That are more mature in the Faith understand that it is not the “ day”, but what the day stands for is the important thing and what God really cares about—— “ Sabbathing” or RESTING in the Finished Work Of The Cross is what matters to God. It is so important to “ enter this Rest” that if you refuse to do so , God will declare you Guilty Of “ Disobedience and Unbelief”
Paul says we must endure these “ weak Believers”. Nowhere does he say that we let them rule the Church.....

I'm sure, Sister, you must realize by now that you are largely the exception to the rule among those who reject the Sabbath. Nearly all vocal Sabbath detractors believe in a vague, hocus-pocus-by-the-Spirit brand of law that has no strength at all. When you say "Those of us you are debating with on here do not believe that," you are representing very, very few.

Those ,"stronger laws"... Love... Have been around for as long as God has lived. They are not new, they are not stronger than the 10 commandments... The ten commandments were just a summary of love. An explanation if you will. If you love, you are keeping the commandments. Love is the fulfilling of the law. So the issue isn't that we have love on the one hand and the Commandment on the other. Lusting isn't an extension to committing adultery, it's an explanation of it. Getting angry unreasonably with your neighbor isn't an extension to murder, it's the explanation of murder. Jesus wasn't making the commandments harder... He was explaining the true extent and nature of them. Lust has always been wrong. As has unrighteousness anger. They didn't suddenly become wrong in 27ad.
The thing is, none of us in our own strength can love as we ought. None of us can love sufficiently to constantly and faithfully keep the law. But, and it's a big BUT, Christ living in us and empowering us through the Divine nature that we partake of, by grace enables us to love God with all our hearts, mind, soul, and strength, and to love others as we would have others love us.
The question Christians need to ask themselves is, "do we love enough" to stop lying to ourselves and stop making illogical and man made excuses for only keeping nine of the ten?

Blood Bought and I are now lawless Antinomianists, as you have thought. We believe in the stronger, deeper laws of Jesus to the heart, the core of our being, not no laws at all as those who stand on Romans 4 and read no further - dumb. So, you will have to come up with another case that the Old Covenant laws still stand. Even though you haven't gone so far to say we have to circumcise and offer sacrifices. That is just no knowledge of Covenant theology, to you live according to the knowledge you have.

And Blood Bought: BF, QT, and GE do not just believe in the Sabbath day, they believe in Jesus too. It is not one or the other, they believe in both, and do so according to Romans 14 to honor the Lord. And God honors them for living up to the truth they have (even if it is from the old covenant.) Do not judge them for it.

Barny, dear, he is not an Antinomianist. He believes in stronger laws than the 10C, not no laws.
CL, There are no stronger laws than the ten commandments. Expansion and elucidation upon a law do not constitute a "stronger law." In fact, the two great commandments could be considered "stronger" than the ten, because Christ said they are the laws upon which the entirety of scripture hangs. :)

for “ weak” Believers
Then it should be easy to observe yeah,? Takes no faith at all to trust God for income lost by not working on Sabbath.
Only weak believers are willing to be ostracised by family and friends by following their conscience.
Only those weak in the faith are willing to uphold, demonstrate, and teach the most unpopular concept in Christendom in the face of ridicule, abuse, charges of heresy and accusations they are trying to "earn' their way to heaven by impressing God.
Yep, observing the Sabbath is easy. It's just a weak faith that believes that when God writes something down He actually means it.

Now Baaaarny! As Andy Griffith used to say when good ol’ Barney got carried away like you are doing.Where did I say I had a “ contempt for obedience”...... quite the contrary, I am all for it! I just agree with the Bible that obedience is not the way to get Saved or stay saved.Faith in the Shed Blood Of Jesus- the acceptance of that FREE GIFT is what saves.FaithPlus Nothing.
Obedience is desired by God and if you are obedient you will be blessed for it. Be a foolish believer and live a life of Disobedience and you will be chastised for it.....ignore the chastisement and God may call you Home early with a premature death and you will have the “ joy” of standing before your Maker totally ashamed of yourself. If you Trusted Jesus and Him only for your Salvation you will be Saved but as the Word says it will be like a guy barely escaping a fire ! Who wants that?
I would prefer to hear , “ Welcome, Good and Faithful Servant !” Disobedient Fools will make it to Heaven if they have Faith—- they will just arrive with more welts on their behinds.....they spent a lot of their time in “ God’s Wood-Shed”.......
Btw....there are Two types of Obedience. One comes because you think God is standing behind you with a Club in His Hands, eager to watch you mess up so He can cast you into a gaping Hell. True Obedience comes automatically to those and ONLY those who REST in the Gospel Of Grace.....Resting in the Finished Work Of The Cross Spurs Love.....Love is the Engine that drives True Obedience....the obedience that comes from the Heart .....obedience not based on love is just so much “ Dead Works” most of the time....Love God and live as you please— watch how your precious “ obedience” becomes a Natural Occurence when you realize your Salvation is not contingent upon it.....” By Grace are Ye Saved” ....

It's a noble effort you make, Sister, but this is why I so often have to take a break from these forums, and it never ends. I don't believe all who reject the Sabbath also reject the other 9, just as I don't believe all ten commandments detractors live with no moral code. But straw man arguments and accusations fly non-stop. I have been accused (not on this site) of persecuting and trying to force other Christians to observe the Sabbath. I assume you remember how Adventists feel about religious liberty. It is often nearly too painful to endure. I'm disabled, so my opportunities for outreach are limited. It is very difficult to maintain appropriate Christian conduct and charity under these circumstances. It is simply inevitable that you're going to run into someone like Behold who can't stop themselves from thinking out loud. If you simply flip the ignore switch on them you can be made a fool without even knowing enough to stop posting.

I find it interesting that my post is perceived as threatening.....as if Gods Commandments are somehow bad or inadequate and that they do not embrace a 'higher order'....as if love is somehow removed from them or in any way different.

Wasn't it Jesus who told the rich young ruler to keep the Commandments when he was asked?.......why didn't Jesus just circumvent these Commandments and tell him....go and love, commit yourself to that?

CL.... the issue here is that lust is desired to be interpreted as love without definition. When love is defined, whether it is love to man or love to God, people find offence .....why? because it points out their view is inadequate where the rubber hits the road.

When Jesus taught in general, He taught the New Covenant, as in the Sermon on the Mount. When asked a question, as with the rich young ruler, he taught according to the present covenant, which before Jesus dies and raises is the Old Covenant.
