I being Jewish have kept Passover since I found out how important is is to who we are ..to be in Christ ...THOSE WHO KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS... Exodus 19:3 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, the ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people; for the earth is MINE. I have thought that this year Passover is crucial....Think of how Father has felt through the years every year seeing those who proclaim to be of His name and His people getting up on resurrection Sunday going out to worship under the name and rituals of Ishtar. God is hurt and offended by this every year and I believe that his year will be the last time ...He will cause the Night of the Lord to begin after His final offense by this foolish "Christian" nation.I do not think that we should keep traditions of men, but brothers and sisters, please look to the Word and see what God commands us to do to keep this feast. Keep it and honor the Father and the Son.I would like to share with you the traditions kept for centuries by the Jewish people on this day. The face of Yashua is all over it and it is a parady of the giving of the daughter to the bethrothed.First an extra plate is set for Elijah and the door is left open for him in case he should show up...(this corelates to the end of days and the arrival of the two witnesses... this year I will set two places)There are four glasses of wine set up at each plate. They are all drunk in an order and with different toasts...except for the last , which is not drunk at all.(this corelates to the betrothal of a man and woman... the father of the bride and the groom drink these same four glasses of wine as they negotiate for the bride... they drink from the same cup as each stage of negotiation is reached. The last is drunk only by the bride and the groom together; this has special meaning for me as I wait for the last cup to be drunk with my bridegroom Jesus during the marraige supper of the Lamb)There are several things on the table all relating to the time in Egypt *an unbroken bone from the leg of a lamb (we know that this is related to Christ and the unbrokenness of HIs body)*salt water (tears)*bitter herbs(lifes bitterness, this is usually raw horseradish which when eaten brring tears to your ears jus the way lifes bitterness does)*green herbs( lifes freshening renewal)*a roasted egg( no one knows why?)(Kriss gave this answer in another thread)*a mixture of ground apple, nuts and wine called haroset ( represents the mortor of the bricks of Egypt)*matzah (unleavened bread)The youngest child present starts the dinner by asking questionss... Why do wecelebrate this night, ....eat these bitter herbs, ect, ect.then the toasting and eating takes place...One thing that happens during dinner is the matzah is taken from a special package of three.. the middle piece is broken and hidden during the meal... this is call the afikoman. the children search for this piece until it is found and the one who finds it is rewarded with a special gift.( this represents Christ in the grave broken for our sins and if you search you will find Him and recieve a great reward, erternal life)There is one glass of wine that is used to tell of the plagues each is named 10 times and ten drops of wine are dropped from the tip of the pinky finger as all shout...flies, flies, flies...ten times, frogs, ten time... ect till all the plagues are named including deathThis is all designed for the Jews to remember being taken out of Egypt by the power and might of the living God they serve.Unfortunately it has become ritual and a reason for family gathering...But we can make this a special time the last Passover of this age. Please keep some sort of this feast, not for me or for your family ,but to honor the Father and the Son.. let the Holy Spirit lead you as you decide and prepare for this day..Above all do not participate in the false goddesses feast or tradtions...I do believe this is the coming of the season for the dead one to appear. That Passover will mark the beginning and Sukkot will mark the end. I am so excited for this is the time I was born to be, and have been prepared for. I would further like to give you a history of Easter..in the dictionary if you look up the Word Easter you will see a reference to a goddess and her day and festival... Easter began in Babylon as the spring festival of fertility and its history is as follow...They mythological Ishtar landed in the Euphrates River in a Giant egg... As she emerges see turns a chicken into a bunny who lays eggs. She has a son name Tamuz by the god Molech( who is castrated) and this son is killed by a wild boar when he is 40 years old. Her followers therefore keep her festival every year in the spring by fasting for 40 days prior to the festival to honor her son(HMMMMM very much like Lent) The priest would have sexual relations with virgins on the altars of her temple... the children born the next year from this copulation would then become the 3 month old sacrifices the priests would offer the next Easter... The supplicants would buy eggs died in the blood of these sacrificed babies... Then the whole lot would go into the grove dressed in new garments and hide and seek these eggs.... and one another ... they would have intercourse with as many supllicants as they could during this hunt. This all began at sunrise for Molach is another name for Sol, the Sun God. It was a big old orgy.I ask you brothers and sister of Christ how you can walk into your places of worship on the most holy day Resurrection Sunday and call it by the name of this abomination? How can you ignore the commandment of God in EXODUS 13:42 IT IS A NIGHT TO BE OBERSERVED UNTO THE LORD TO BE OBERSERVED OF ALL THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL IN THEIR GENERATIONS.and instead you subsititue the pagan rites of Easter. The sunrise service, new clothes, eggs and bunnies. Do you think God is pleased when you exchange His commandment for the orgy of the goddess?I know God looks on the heart, but what are you really doing when you ignore His word and commandments to do what you have always done? These were began in order to bring the pagan into worship by the Roman Church centuries ago... but what has happen is we have begun to act like the pagan and turn away from the ways of God and his people.I am sickened by the way so many act in ignorance, but I tell you that your pastors know this truth, but have kept you from it. They have continued to keep the name of a Pagan goddess on the day of resurrection rather than offend someone who has sinned. I tell you you should tell your pastor you will not participate in pagan practices. I beg you for the sake of JESUS who is our passover lamb to keep HIS traditions as ordered by His Father instead of taking up the pagan practices of the goddess this year. Confront your pastors with the truth. Take down her name from you sanctuaries. Do not rise up to the sun in her name or refrain from eating 40 days as she required to honor her son... and where do you think that the ham on your table on Easter came from... The death of the wild boar who took Tamuz's life. Rebel against pagan practices in your home and church...FOR THE SAKE AND HONOR OF JESUS AND THE FATHER. Also from Strongs Concordance for Easter mentioned once in the King Jamesall having to do with Passover and the Jews. Not the Christian tradition of men. .......................................................................................................1) the paschal sacrifice (which was accustomed to be offered for the people's deliverance of old from Egypt)2) the paschal lamb, i.e. the lamb the Israelites were accustomed to slay and eat on the fourteenth day of the month of Nisan (the first month of their year) in memory of the day on which their fathers, preparing to depart from Egypt, were bidden by God to slay and eat a lamb, and to sprinkle their door posts with itsblood, that the destroying angel, seeing the blood, might pass over their dwellings; Christ crucified is likened to the slain paschal lamb3) the paschal supper4) the paschal feast, the feast of the Passover, extending from the 14th to the 20th day of the month Nisan

Something we as Christians need to rememberThe world in general supposes that days like Passover are "Jewish holidays" or even "Jesus Festivals" when in reality the Bible calls them the Feasts of the LORD—God's feasts.

Early Christians use to celebrate the passover, not by sacrificing lambs, but to remember the death of their Saviour. They use to celebrate it on the 14th of Nissan no exception, untill certain Christians of Rome and Alexandria started to celebrate it on the pagan day of worship of Ashteroth, which was the first Sunday after the Vernal Equinox (When the sun, the moon, and Venus would rise in the east) This fell around the same time as passover, but was governed by Astrology and not the Jewish calender. They would wake up early, and worship the sun as it rose in the east. After a while, the bishops of Rome enforced this on other Christian churches as the day to celebrate Easter. This is why we have early sun-rise service. Not because Jesus rose early, Jesus rose when it was still dark, he conquered the sun god.‛ashtôreth: the Phoenician goddess of love (and increase): - Ashtoreth.

You are right Kendall Ashteroth also known by other names She was the Ishtar of the Accadians and the >Astarte of the Greeks (Jer. 44:17; 1 Kings 11:5, 33; 2 Kings 23:13).There was a temple of this goddess among the Philistines in the time of Saul (1 Sam. 31:10). Under the name of Ishtar, she was one of the great deities of the Assyrians. The Phoenicians called her Astarte.I don't know if early Christians ever celebrated Passover to remember Jesus's death I never heard that. But the early Christians were Jews also and would have always observed Passover

Don't forget, that the 'h' is silent in Ishtar, and the 'I' is pronounced as a hard 'e' like in Spanish, so the correct pronunciation would be easter. We can see then, that pascha is pretty far from ishtar

Yes, its pretty far and how far has the Christian Church gone away from what God intended. We are not talking symantics here, but about people taking part in pagan practices instead of holy communion. They are in a unholy service unknowing, but still involved in worshiping and idol.....can we have some talk about that?

betchevy,I have an opinion about that. One which I think Scripture supports. Remember where Peter reminds the Jews that the angels were desirous to look into certain things? I think there is ample evidence to show that angels do read. Satan does read. And being that Satan is more cunning than any beast of the field, it is no surprise that he had all of God's Holy Feasts supplanted, not to mention the birth of Christ and the begetting of the seed of Christ.Satan is that great foe who had even taken the titles of Christ unto himself. I think it is because angels can read. They must be desirous of looking into things in a very specific place, and the only place God has made known regarding this, is in His letter to us, the Bible. Welll, that may not be completely true, there is the witness written in the stars also. Compare the I Will of Christ in John 17 to the five I wills of Satan in Isa 14:13-14 ~"For thou hast said in thine heart, 1. I will ascend into heaven, 2. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: 3. I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 4. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; 5. I will be like the most High."And as Paul reminds us in Php 3:18, speaking about believers, "(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ"So it is really quite beyond what we may think, perhaps even beyond what we can think. We can do one thing though. At least the Bible says we can do this one thing. We can have 'acknowledgment'. And in most every instance, Biblically, the word 'knowledge' is in truth and in fact, the Greek word for "acknowledgment".Without this, there isn't really too much God has to work with, even if one is a believer, unless we have acknowledgment to all that is written, then how can we possibly be in the position to receive more truth? Satan is a perfect example of one who will not have this acknowledgment ~ but I ramble.Appendix 42 of the Companion Bible speaks to Ishtar in more abundance.

You have not spoken about the point here at all.. pagan practices in Christian churches... What is the connection between this and Passover?

Many early Christians still celebrated passover, well they didn't have a passover lamb, etc etc, but celebrated Jesus death on the 14th of Nissan, because Jesus is the passover, and when he died, he fulfilled the passover. Many early Christians (Jews) Still celebrated the feast days, this is why Paul told them in Romans 14:5 not to judge the Christians still observing these days, as they were weak in the faith (or didn't trust fully in Jesus that they didn't need these things)After Christ's death, there is only one holy ordinance - communion, which is feet washing, then breaking bread, drinking fresh wine as Jesus commanded us to do in remembrance of him. After Christ's death, since the dawn of time and throughout eternity is only one holy day, that is the 7th day of the week, the sabbath of the Lord our God; in it we should do no servile labour, but dedicate the time to be with the Lord of hosts.I myself avoid Easter, Valentines day, Mother's day, Christmas, Lent etc as they are all pagan holidays. And i believe any true believer in Christ who has had light on the subjects would do their best to avoid it also. This is my view from scripture, if you think it should be otherwise just let me know. And as for the topic question, there is no connection between passover and easter except that they fall around the same time of year, and every now and then they fall on the same days. Passover is a symbol of us accepting Christ Jesus as our propitiation, and accepting all of him, just as the unleavened bread sabbath is a symbol of parting from sin when we accept him.May God bless you and be with you !!

Fresh wine? you follow the Welches ordinance started by the brother in the 1800's, lol, you are gullible. No I don't tell anyone how they should believe, I only tell how I believe and leave the rest up to others to decide for themselves. YOU I am gonna let God take care of.I have been trying to get people to look at the sin in Easter, and you have been trying to oppose me even though you youself keep Passover. Why do you love to argue? even about thing we agree on. Easter is related to Passover becasue the Catoholic church installed Easter as a subsitute for Passover. This is all I intend to say on this or any other subject you want to argue about, becasue I do not desire to waste time or energy in futile argument for arguments sake.

Thinking this is pretty basic, that we have a definate difference between rolling out the goddess of fertility in place of a Hebrew passover, let's look at what the apostle says about The Death of the High Priest ~Heb 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:Heb 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. The idea here is that once a year, the high priest would have to go into the holy of holies to offer sacrifice, so they must make many sacrifices, but Christ only had to make one sacrifice. We want to try to understand what might have gone on in the mind of a Hebrew [Jew] while the apostle was relating this message to them. Lets see if we can draw it out using scripture. The subject is the cities of refuge, and if one had accidentally killed another, then he could go live in a city of refuge safely. The word “and” is in italics, so you can leave it out when you read it.Jos 20:6 And he shall dwell in that city, until he stand before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in those days: then shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled. So, this man, who meant no malice (recall Job, how it is Satan messing with us, that great spiritual foe of the Lord), and had no forethought in the death of another could go into this city, and remain, but could not go out until the death of the high priest. But after that, the judgment, and he was set free. the judgment is for the setting free of those who were in bondage. Now, that’s what the apostle is trying to tell the people in the book of Hebrews. That Christ is the high priest, and He makes one sacrifice, and not many sacrifices, then is risen and able to sit down. And after the death of the high priest, Christ’s death, there is a judgment and they are set free. He is telling them the high priest is dead. They are all free to go home now. There is a different freedom that is meant here, but there is a parallel with the death and sacrifice of Christ which was all a figure of that which was to come, and the sin wherein they were in that city of refuge. Now these people would be perfectly acquainted with these things, with the condemned man; [remember these were believers too]; and with the cities of refuge, and the habit of the high priest going in once a year into the holiest of all to make his offering. The apostle is then arguing with them that Christ’s sacrifice is sufficient and it does indeed set all the transgressors free. As all have sinned, all are set free. Every message of the Acts has the first commission in mind, that being to preach the kingdom up until the time where all Israel would have the opportunity to hear truth and choose to believe and therefore repent, and if not there would then be no further opportunity for repentence.Heb 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:Heb 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. This is an Hebraism, it should read 'the better sacrifice', or 'the great sacrifice', which is Christ’s sacrifice. There is a habit in the Hebrew idiom of using a plural in the Greek, when they want to express something to a superlative degree. They didn’t have the superlative degree in their adjectives in English. So the holy of holies becomes that “holiest of all”. Here, “sacrifices” means 'the great sacrifice', so we have to know, sometimes, about this Hebrew idiom. I don’t know if this helps any of you, but it has certainly helped me. I would recommend going back and reading the whole chapter, it’s another good one. Closely related to this subject is a verse that most people don’t seem to have in their Bible, I don’t know if yours does or not.2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. There it is. The good news. Sin is not imputed. There is no place of torment in the hereafter. Now that is not a dispensational truth, it belongs to all people.

Before I was a Christian, I celebrated every holiday, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and Christmas. Those were great holidays. (Back then could care less since nobody told me about Him, not even my own family) Now as a Christian, By faith without scriptural evidence to support it, I knew that Christmas is not truly a holiday to be celebrated. I saw something disgusting right before my spiritual eyes, "Santa" becomes "Satan" by changing "nta" around. I actually believed that without scriptural support. I didn't know back then, but now I think the Lord had shown me, even though I didn't know it was Him that shown me.As for Easter, Bunny and easter eggs are also pointless because it also have nothing to do with God even Christ. For some reason, I see Act 12:4 (I'll start with Acts 12:3)Acts 12:3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)Acts 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. To support this. Luke 22:1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.I see Passover, then the Feast of the Unleavened Bread, then Easter (Pagan Holiday) unless they said 1 year after (which the bible didn't say at all)Lovest ye in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour. God bless.

Thank you, but I guess Easter and Passover synonym back when it was translated from the KJB.
