Forgive me if this sounds either silly or stupid. But since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit (an apple), is it a sin for us humans to eat it? I have so many apples at home but now I fear to eat them

Eating an apple is a sin only if it has worms. Make sure you check each and every apple!

BTW Adam and Eve did not eat an apple. That is pure fantasy, since an apple a day keeps the doctor away.:)

There is no indication it was an apple, the idea is added to the Bible not a part of the Bible. Don't believe everything you see or read

It wasn't an apple, just some type of fruit. Only unfounded tradition refers to it as an apple, probably because of paintings.

Besides, read 1 Corinthians 6. Everything is lawful. Food is for the stomach, and the stomach for food.

Sin came on the entire human race as the result of eating that fruit...so the damage is done.

The remedy deals not only with the original eating of the forbidden fruit; but also with subsequent eatings of it, after one is redeemed.

So, I would say, eat to your heart's content (but only if you like apples :)).

Its was not the fruit that was the problem but the DISOBEDIENCE to God in eating what He commanded them not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that was the act of sin. Scripture does not say what type of fruit was on the tree just that it was good, pleasing and desirable ( Genesis 3). Jesus said its not what goes into your that defiles a man but what comes out of his mouth.

Mark 7:17-23
17 After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. 18 “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? 19 For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)

20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

hope this helps !!!

One simple rule... and God's creation in their Free-will could not muster the integrity to be obedient to the God who created them, and gave them everything! They existed in Paradise! No sickness, no death, no sweaty labor, no pain! Yet, they chose/or were snookered into choosing pain, struggle, evil and destruction for the promise of knowing good and evil. So simple, yet so profoundly shallow and arrogant of a created race that still applies today to all humanity.

Throughout history, the serpent still tells us to look at the "apple" and be appalled at the perceived pettiness of God based upon our own inward arrogance and self-centered shallowness. Men stand in judgement of God today, claiming to be more wise than God Himself!

The issue has never been the "fruit," but the pettiness and arrogance of mankind that still attempts to justify disobedience and rebellion as if it is no big deal.

Like others have said it wasn't the fruit itself that was a problem,.. it was on the tree that was a problem.

Addressing the OP only, one scripture, only. Romans 14:23 "And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin."

even if it have a worm in it, if the Holy Spirit is in you it will not harm you. just ask the apostle Paul when a poisonous snake latched onto his arm and he shook it off.

LP, I'm sorry, but yes, that was a really silly question. Apparently you haven't even read the pericope to understand that first of all, it is never called an an apple in Scripture, but simply referred to as a fruit. Secondly, man was given all vegetation to eat, the only prohibition was eating from what was produced from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil (TKGE). And this injunction was only stipulated due to the adverse affects that would be incurred, by gaining such a knowledge. The sin was defying an ordinance of God, not ingesting a particular produce from the earth.
For even the impartation of the knowledge of good & evil is not sinful in and of itself, as God and his heavenly host had this awareness.
Disobeying God is the sin, for where there is no law, there is no sin (Romans 4:15).
Again LP, I'm sorry, but had you read the passage yourself, you never would have jumped to such an irrational conclusion.

'Now that you mentioned these sins, I fear I committed some of these that I didn't realize!!!!! Help me God please!!!!!'

You're sounding a little over-reactive?
