While they are saying: Peace and Safety

This prophecy in 1 Thessalonians 5:3, goes on to tell us: then, sudden destruction will come upon them.

So we need to find out who are those who will say; ‘At last we have peace and safety’, and who the sudden destruction will fall upon.

We can be sure this is about the latter days, as it refers to Jesus prophecy in Matthew 24:8 All these things are the birth pangs of the new age.

We also know that it will happen before Jesus Returns, as Paul tells us in 1Thessalonians 4:16 The Lord will come from heaven with a shout; the voice of an archangel and the trumpet of God.

Whereas at this sudden destruction, before the Return, He will come unexpectedly.

This event is obviously the multi prophesied Day of the Lord’s fiery wrath; the Sixth Seal worldwide disaster. The Lord will not be seen on that Day. Amos 1, Psalms 11:4-6

The focal point of God’s Plan on earth, is the holy Land, the place His eyes are fixed upon. Deuteronomy 11:11-12
The situation there has been extremely volatile for many years, but just recently there has been a change, with the United Arab Emirates normalizing relations with the Jewish State of Israel. Also many other Middle East nations are overtly [instead of covertly] in diplomatic and trade discussions with Israel.

This considerable improvement toward stability and peace in the region, has resulted in many comments of optimism and hope for peace and safety at last for Israel and the Islamic peoples. Those diplomats and commentators are the first ‘they’.

EXCEPT for Iran and their proxies. Their Shi-ite version of Islam remains committed to the destruction of the Jewish people and the removal of Israel from the Middle East.

We see many prophecies which say how the Lord will destroy His enemies, Psalms 83, Micah 4:11-12 and Revelation 6:12-17, are the most specific. They all say that the Lord will take action when an attack upon Israel is commenced. He will not allow nukes to explode in His holy Land.

Therefore, ‘them’, are the peoples who hate Israel and attempt to wipe them off the map.

It WILL happen, God’s Word prophesies it and Satan is the force behind Islam, plus the leaders of Iran are facing revolution for their mismanagement and incompetence. They must act to retain power by diverting attention from themselves.

That "sudden destruction" event happens on the "day of the Lord", which Paul there in 1 Thess.5 said will come "as a thief in the night". Paul was referring to Lord Jesus' 'as a thief' metaphor He gave about the day of His 2nd coming per His Olivet discourse. In Revelation 16:15, Lord Jesus repeated the idea that He comes "as a thief" while pointing to the battle of Armageddon getting ready to happen with the 7th Vial of His cup of wrath being poured out upon the wicked. Thus the "day of the Lord" is about the day of that "sudden destruction" with Christ's coming to do battle.

In 2 Peter 3:10, Apostle Peter also declared the "day of the Lord" will come "as a thief in the night", and he showed on that day the earth and man's works will be burned... off the earth. That of course means that time of "sudden destruction" Paul taught will be on that same day of that burning by God's consuming fire.

Yes; The great and terrible Day of the Lord's fiery wrath, when He will strike the earth with a shocking surprise that will be the first of the prophesied end time events. About 10 or so years later Jesus will Return in glory, He will destroy the attacking armies at Armageddon by the Sword of His Word and chain up Satan. Then reign for the next 1000 years.

This is how the Bible sets it out. Why must you think otherwise?

I disagree with your supposition on the time when Jesus returns in relation to that. My Bible shows Jesus will come to gather His Church and go to Jerusalem on the "day of the Lord" which is the 7th Trumpet, 7th Vial timing (Zechariah 14; Revelation 16:15-17; Revelation 11:14 forward).

So then, when does Revelation 15,16,17,18 and 19:1-10, take place? The Seven Bowls of God's wrath, only after them, will His Wrath be completed. Rev 15:1

I see what happens at the Seventh Trumpet, Rev 11:15-19, as a preview of the Return and the final Judgment; Rev 20:11-15
The actual Return is well described in Revelation 19:11-21.

Please address the OP. What do you think the next prophesied event will be? How will a One World govt be formed, unless the nations are forced to give up their sovereignty?

The cup of wrath poured out on the 7th Vial is different than the previous vials of Rev.16. The Revelation 16:13-14 verses reveal the beast kingdom still exists all the way up to the 7th Vial. And we should remember about the plagues God's two witnesses are shown working upon that beast per the Rev.11 chapter. But the final Vial, the 7th one, is when the final battle of this world happens with Jesus and His army from Heaven coming to fight it at Armageddon (a la Rev.19 and Ezek.39), which is the "day of the Lord" timing when the "sudden destruction" will come upon the wicked, which is His cup of wrath He is warning about in the Revelation 16:15-21 verses.

I see what happens at the Seventh Trumpet, Rev 11:15-19, as a preview of the Return and the final Judgment; Rev 20:11-15

Present a problem, offer a solution. Since one of the markers for the very end is with the deceived saying, "Peace and safety", what events would have to happen first for the majority of the world to focus on that, and give up their freedoms to have that peace and safety? Present chaos, offer a solution. It is always what the children of darkness have done to takeover nations. What is being presented today, chaos or peace? It will take more than little groups like the U.N. to create that peace and safety.

This is bit hard to figure out!
So you are saying that the 'sudden destruction' is the defeat of the armies at Armageddon? I put it to you, that as every eye will see His Return, those armies will know their demise is next.

The focus is on the Middle East, an area that for many years has been in turmoil. This normalization of trade and diplomatic relations is a big change and has many saying: Peace and safety at last.
This may cause Israel to relax their preparedness and Iran and their proxies; all prepared with thousands of rockets and nuke missiles, will; on the Appointed Day, attempt to destroy Israel.
It will be this 'sudden destruction' by the Lord of all those ungodly peoples, that will commence the end times as prophesied. Isaiah 47:9-11, Psalms 64:7

It seems your OP was an assertion rather than a question, but I'll take a shot:

1. Clearly we should anticipate the Russians along with the Iranians moving their militaries into the Mediterranean region, -- and now with the Lebanese Government in disarray, it is a prime target.

2. Israel will apparently withstand the regional intrusion.

3. Russia and Iran will divert their attentions toward Israel, but Israel cannot use nuclear weapons on the approaches over other nation's territories. So they will have to wait until they reach the congested European/Asian/Africa highway intersection in the Valley of Megiddo.

4. Then Israel will deploy their nuclear weapons.

5. China will march 200M men (20M under arms, with 180M providing support roles) to "spank" Russia.

6. The United Nations will "heal" Russia so that it will be able to participate in the Global Thermonuclear War before Jesus returns.

---------------------------------------------------------------

POSSIBLY PRIOR TO or DURING THE ABOVE EVENTS:

1. Trump & Pence will presumably be re-elected, and then apparently be caught and overwhelmed by mobs and murdered, where they will lie in the streets for 3 1/2 days until the are brought back to life and then ascend.

2. Nancy Pelosi will become the next President and she will give the U.S. Sovereignty to the United Nations, as will Russia and China.

3. The U.N. will convert the world's economy to a "cashless society" where an Oath of Allegiance will be required for every participant.

4. The Nations will participate in the Global Thermonuclear War before Jesus returns.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Now I can give some rudimentary timelines, but they'll be guesstimations (logistical approximations, etc.), with the most confident date being the END of the Tribulation, -- whatever that "closure" means. For example, it might be when the the U.N. is dissolved; or when nations stop launching; or when Jesus returns. But we know the Year and the Season, with only several weeks (?five?) which could be up for debate.

... and it is possible to "flesh out" more details, but this is the gist!

PS CME stands for Comprehensive Military Exertion, which is to say NUCLEAR WEAPONS. ;)

Seems that you are not interested in what the Prophetic Word actually says.
BJ's guesswork, totally bereft of any scripture.

The great and terrible Day of the Lord's fiery wrath, a Coronal mass Ejection of unprecedented magnitude, will either explode nukes before launching or neutralize them in storage, by the tremendous power of the Electro-Magnetic Pulse of the sun explosion.

I didn't say it, Apostles Paul and Peter did when Paul linked the "sudden destruction" to the "day of the Lord" destruction like Isaiah 13. The 7th Vial is poured out in the "air" if you'll look. It represents the day of God's consuming fire which is the "sudden destruction" of 1 Thess.5. That is what will end this present time of man in the flesh, literally. It is why Paul preached about the 'change' at the twinkling of an eye, because it is to happen at an instant suddenly per Isaiah 29. For those still alive it will be an instant removing of their flesh body, revealing their spiritual body, this per Isaiah 25 and 1 Cor.15 about death being swallowed up.

The focus is on the Middle East, an area that for many years has been in turmoil. This normalization of trade and diplomatic relations is a big change and has many saying: Peace and safety at last.

The time of the "sudden destruction" will end... the end times prophecies for this present world, not begin them. I can't understand why you can't grasp that, because once that day of destruction from God happens, it means the events prophesied for this present world time will be over. It means the start of Christ's 1,000 years reign over all nations with Satan and the kings of the earth locked in his pit prison for the 1,000 years.

As it was in the Days of Noah:

1 Thessalonians 5:3-5 You friends, are not in the dark, that Day will not come upon you like a thief. You are children of the Light, of the day. We do not belong to night and darkness. But while they are saying: all is peaceful, all secure; then destruction is upon them, suddenly as the pangs that come upon a woman in childbirth and there will be no escape.

You My friends’ - Those who love Him and keep His commands.

John 15:14-15 You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is about, I call you friends because I have disclosed to you everything that I heard from the Father.

that Day’- Jesus quoted Isaiah 61:1-2a at the commencement of His ministry. He stopped at ‘and a Day of vengeance of our God’. That therefore, must be the next prophesied event.

It is wrong to think ‘that Day’ is the Return of Jesus in His glory, for these main reasons;

1/ The situation will hardly be: ‘all is peaceful’, at the end of the Tribulation and with the Anti Christ’s army coming to attack Jerusalem!

2/ The Return will not come ‘as a thief’, that is unexpectedly, because as anyone with a Bible can read that after the AC places his image in the Temple, it will be 1260 days, then the Return.

3/ As described to us in many prophecies, the Day of wrath is a worldwide event, on all nations:

Zephaniah 1:7 Keep silent in the presence of the Lord, for the Day of the Lord is near, the Lord has prepared a sacrifice and set apart those His has invited.

Isaiah 13:9 The Day of the Lord is coming, that cruel Day of wrath and fierce anger, to reduce the earth to a desolation and to destroy the wicked there.

Malachi 4:1 The Day comes, burning like a furnace, all the proud evildoers will be as stubble, that Day will set them ablaze leaving them neither root nor branch.

Revelation 6:17 For the great Day of their wrath has come and who can stand?

like a thief’- That is, unexpectedly to all the godless peoples and to those who have ignored or failed to understand the prophetic warnings.

Revelation 3:3 If you do not wake up, you will not know the moment of My coming.

Revelation 16:15 See: I am coming unexpectedly. Happy is the one who stays awake and ready.

Isaiah 46:10 From the beginning I reveal the end, from ancient times what is yet to be.

children of the light’-
1 Thess. 5:8 We who belong in the light, must keep prepared and armed with salvation.

Isaiah 42:6 I have formed and destined you to be a light to the nations.....

‘they say; all is peaceful, all secure’- The enemy nations prepare a surprise attack on Israel.

Micah 4:12 They do not understand God’s purposes, they are gathered like sheaves on the threshing floor.

Matthew 24:37-44 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. Then they ate, drank and married right up to the day Noah went into the ark. They knew nothing until the flood came and swept them all away. That is how it will be when the Son of Man comes. Be ready, therefore, lest He comes when you are unprepared.

suddenly destruction is upon them’- This is the Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath, prophesied over 100 times in the Bible and accurately described as a CME sunstrike. Isaiah 30:26

Isaiah 47:8-11 Listen to this, you lovers of luxury, living carefree and thinking you will never be in mourning. Suddenly, in a single Day disaster will come upon you.

Jeremiah 25:32-33 The Lord says: Ruin spreads from nation to nation. A mighty tempest blows up and those whom the Lord has slain on that Day will lie scattered all over the world.

there will be no escape’-Everyone will be affected, this Day will come upon everyone. Luke 21:35

Romans 2:3 Do you imagine that you can escape the judgement of God?

Isaiah 2:19 They will creep into caves to hide when the Lord strikes the world with terror.

Revelation 6:16-17 They called out: Hide us from the wrath of God and the Lamb’.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-2 About dates and times, my friends, there is no need for me to write to you, for you know perfectly well that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

The Day that Paul is talking about here cannot be the same Day as he mentions in 1 Thess. 4:13-18, or later in 2 Thess. 1-8 where he says that the Day Jesus Returns will not come until the Anti-Christ is revealed and enthrones himself in the Temple. We read in Rev. 13:5 that the Anti-Christ is allowed to continue for 42 months, then Jesus will Return and chain him up for 1000 years. This time period is confirmed by Daniel 12:7 and again in Rev. 12:6 as 1260 days. [The three and a half year Great Tribulation]

Therefore those who are alive when the Anti-Christ declares himself to be God in the new Temple, can know exactly how long it will be before Jesus will Return. That glorious event should not be unexpected for them.

So what Day is Paul talking about in 1 Thess. 5:1:2? It is NOT the Return of Jesus on the Great Day of the Sovereign Lord, Rev. 16:14 and as described in Zechariah 14:3-5, Matthew 24:30, or Rev. 19:11-14, but it IS the terrible Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath – a Day that will come unexpectedly. Isaiah 29:5-6 …suddenly, in an instant punishment will come from the Lord, with a great noise, storms, earthquakes and a devouring fire. Psalm 73:19, Jer. 4:20, Psalm 6:10, Psalms 11:4-6

1 Thess.5:3 While they are saying: Peace and safety, then sudden destruction will come upon them and there will be no escape. Ezekiel 7:16, Romans 2:3

It seems that just before this terrible Day, there may be an agreement of some kind in the Middle East, between Israel and the Islamists. The world will breathe a sigh of relief, but as we are told in Psalm 144:11…their every word is worthless, every oath is false. They will simply use that time of lessened vigilance to prepare their attack. The moment of attack is the trigger for the Lord to arise and instigate His judgement/punishment by fire, a massive CME sunstrike. Isaiah 30:26, 2 Peter 3:7

2 Thess. 1:8 In flaming fire, the Lord Jesus will mete out punishment to all those who refuse to acknowledge their Creator and do not obey Him. Hebrews 10:27

1 Thess. 5:4-9 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that this Day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light, we do not belong in the darkness. So then let us keep sober and alert, armed with the breastplate of faith and love, and with the hope of salvation as a helmet. God has not destined us to suffer His wrath, but for the full attainment of salvation through our Lord, Jesus Christ. Rev. 3:10

The punishment of the nations, the next prophesied event, the Sixth Seal - Rev 6:12-17, Isaiah 2:12-21, Jer. 23:19, Ezekiel 30:2-5, Zephaniah 3:8, 2 Peter 3:10 and many other vivid prophecies, that will literally be fulfilled on that Day of disaster for all the world. Everyone will be affected, Luke 21:35, and huge numbers of people will die. Isaiah 66:16, Jer. 9:22, Matthew 24:40. It will be God’s second ‘reset of civilization’, an event similar in scope to the flood in Noah’s day. At that time, only Noah knew what was going to happen, now only just a very few understand the truth, as Daniel 12:10 says. Mathew 24:37-39

We, who believe in God, trust Jesus for our salvation and rely on His protection, have the promise of 1 Thess. 5:9 that we will not suffer His wrath. Many prophesies say how the Lord will protect His people during His wrath against the wicked peoples. Isa. 43:2, Psalms 31:23-24, Jer. 17:7-8, +

Yes it can be the same day of the 1 Thess.4 events, and is the same day. It is also the same day as 2 Thessalonians 2:8 about the brightness of Jesus' coming. The 2 Thessalonians 2 verse 3 to the first phrase of the 8th verse is all tribulation timing. But the part about the brightness of Jesus' coming to destroy that false one IS... the "day of the Lord", the same day as 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17. Got to learn to rightly divide.

The Abraham Accords, agreement to normalize relations between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, were signed on Tuesday 16th September 2020.

In his speech at the White House, Netanyahu encapsulated what we witnessed yesterday: “The end of conflict with the Arab world, economic benefits that will reverberate across borders in the Middle East, and perhaps more importantly – this peace is between peoples rather than leaders, which is a huge distinction. It's no longer an exclusive club of peace for leaders and their immediate circles, but peace for all. We are already dreaming of flying there and visiting”.

"We're here this afternoon to change the course of history," Trump said from a balcony overlooking the South Lawn. "After decades of division and conflict, we mark the dawn of a new Middle East.

Rightly divide scripture, Davy.?
Just a simple, straightforward reading and understanding is all that is needed.

Isaiah 25:1-2 Lord, You are my God, I shall exult and praise You, for You have done wonderful things, long planned and sure. You have turned cities into heaps of ruin, fortifications into rubble. Buildings are swept away, never to be rebuilt. For this, many cruel nations will then respect You and treat You with awe.

Isaiah 25:4a & 9 Truly, You have been a refuge to the poor and a help to the needy in their distress, a shelter from the tempest and shade from the heat. On that Day, people will say: See this is our God – we have waited for Him and He will deliver us. This is the Lord, for whom we have waited, let us rejoice and exult in His deliverance.

Isaiah 25:4b & 11-12 For the enmity of the godless is like a storm, like the desert heat, but You silence the clamour of the foe and their noise dies away. For the hand of the Lord will come upon this mountain and the inhabitants will be trampled under Him, as straw is trodden into a dunghill. They will try to escape, but the Lord will bring down their pride, despite their clever plans. He will destroy the fortified defenses, they will be brought down to dust.

Isaiah 26:4-6 Trust in the Lord forever! For He is an eternal Rock, He humbles all those high and mighty dwellers of a towering city. He levels it to the ground – lays it to the dust, so that the oppressed may tread it underfoot.

Reference: REB, NIV, KJV. Some verses abridged.

nations will be in awe – All false religions and gods will be discredited. Isaiah 2:17-18, Isaiah 66:17

refuge to the poor and needy – This is a metaphor for the Lord’s righteous people. Isaiah 41:17, Psalms 70:1-5

He will deliver us – those who keep the faith and trust the Lord. Psalms 72:12-14
Deliverance by protection, not removal. Isaiah 43:2, Isaiah 41:13, Zechariah 9:15-16

Isaiah 30:25-28 On the Day of slaughter 1, when all the military fortresses fall 2, water will flow from every mountain and hilltop. The moon will burn as brightly 4 as the sun and the sun will give out seven times its normal strength 3, like seven days power in one. On that Day the Lord will turn again to the welfare of His people 7. He will recompense them for the punishments inflicted upon them.

See: the Lord Himself comes from afar 5, His anger blazing and His doom heavy. His mouth is charged with wrath and His tongue is like a devouring fire 3. His breath is like a torrent in spate: to judge the nations with His mighty affliction.
He sieves out the proud nations for destruction 6 and there will be a halter in the mouths of their people, leading them to ruin.

1/ The Day prophesied over 100 times in the Bible. The Day when people scramble for cover; they will call out ‘The great Day of the wrath of Almighty God and the Lamb has come and who can stand? Revelation 6:12-17, Isaiah 2:12-21

2/ Military personnel, ordnances and weapons will be destroyed on that Day. Hosea 2:18, Amos 5:9, Micah 5:10, Jeremiah 50:27

3/ Seven times ambient temperature: say 16c X 7 = 112c, that is 12c above the boiling point for water. Isaiah 64:2 The only literal explanation of what will cause all the vividly described prophesied effects, is a coronal mass ejection of an unprecedented magnitude.
Psalms 21:9, Psalm 97:2-5, Isaiah 33:12, Hebrews 10:27

4/ The moon will burn brightly red as this CME mass of superheated hydrogen plasma hits it causing a thermoluminescent reaction with the aluminium oxide moon dust. Joel 2:31, Acts 2:20

5/ This sudden and unexpected Day is instigated by the Lord, but He is not seen at this time; coming in fire – Isaiah 66:15-16, Psalm 18:7-15.

A Day quite different from the Return, when every eye will see Him; to come later.

6/ This is the judgement of all the nations, especially those who scorn and denigrate His people. Zephaniah 3:8, Habakkuk 3:12, Ezekiel 30:2-5, Isaiah 63:1-6

7/ We are told to pray and trust in the Lord’s protection on that terrible Day, Isaiah 30:15 but we are also warned about what will come and should make preparations for shelter and supplies, then to be aware of what He has planned for His people, now every faithful Christian from every tribe, race, nation and language. Isaiah 26:20-21, Isaiah 49:8-13, Psalms 55:1-8, Jeremiah 29:11-14

Hosea 5:8-15 Blow the trumpet in the Holy Land! Raise the battle cry over the Land. Benjamin will lead the way.

On the Day of Reckoning and punishment Ephraim will be laid waste, this is the certain doom the Lord has decreed for all of Israel’s tribes. Judah’s rabbis are like those who move boundary stones, therefore He will pour out His wrath upon them like a flood. Jeremiah 8:8, 1 Timothy 1:7

[Benjamin, now part of the House of Judah. Ephraim; represents the Western Christian nations]

Ephraim is an oppressor trampling on justice, obstinately pursuing what is worthless. So the Lord will be as a festering boil to Ephraim and like rot to the people of Judah. When Ephraim realized his sickness and Judah found his sores, they turned for help to earthly powers, but they had no cure for them. Jer. 13:25

The Lord will be like a lion against Ephraim and as a fierce lion to Judah, He will maul His prey and go, Jer. 4:7-9 leaving them with no hope of rescue. He will return to His dwelling place until they admit their guilt and in remorse they seek their God. In their misery and pain, they will acknowledge their offences and pray for the Lord to heal them. Isaiah 57:15-19, Psalm 41, Jer. 33:6-8, Hosea 14

This is the amazing story of what will happen very soon. How the Lord will instigate His Day of Reckoning and punishment, His terrible judgement of fire that will virtually wipe out the Middle East and affect all the world. We see in the prophesies such as Psalm 83, how on that Day, He will destroy His enemies, but this passage in Hosea tells us that His people, will also face judgement. Their lands will be ‘laid waste,’ but in Jeremiah 30:7 How awful is that Day, when has been the like? A time of anguish for Jacob, [all the Israelites, ethnic or grafted in] yet he will come through it safely. Zechariah 9:14-17

The Lord ‘will maul His prey and go back to His dwelling place’, this is undeniable proof that this terrible Day of wrath: the Sixth Seal, is separate from and years before the glorious Return.

Jeremiah 50:3-5 A great horde [a fiery mass] will fall upon the Middle East, [Joel 2:1-11, Ezekiel 30:1-5] making all the holy Land a desolate waste, with no one living there; man and beast will all be gone. In those days and at that time, the people of Israel, [the ten Northern tribes] and the people of Judah, [the Jews] will come together and with remorse and tears go in search of the Lord their God. They will seek the way to the holy Land, looking toward Jerusalem and saying: Come, let us join ourselves to the Lord in an everlasting Covenant that will never be forgotten. Hebrews 8:8-13, Jeremiah 31:8-9, Deutronomy 4:27-31, Ezekiel 37:1-28

Jeremiah 51:50 You who escape the terrible Day of the Lord’s wrath; Go do not linger. Remember the Lord from afar and let Jerusalem come into your minds.

Isaiah 12:1-6 On that Day, you will say: Praise God, my Deliverer… Let this be known in all the world – the Holy One of Israel has Redeemed His people and will be among them. Isaiah 24:23, 2 Thess. 1:10 Ref: REB, NIV, KJV. Paraphrased

The Shekinah glory of God will return to the new Temple, in the same manner as in Solomon’s Temple. Ezekiel 43:1-4

But when the Anti-Christ conquers Beulah and places his image in the Temple, the Lord will depart along with His holy ones, Daniel 11:32, Rev. 12:14, for the 1260 day period of the great Tribulation. They will live in a place far out of reach of the ‘serpent’ until the Return of Jesus for His Millennial reign. Matthew 24:30-31

The Book of Joel:
Blow the shofar in Zion: sound the alarm in the holy Land. Let all the inhabitants of the Land tremble, for the Day of the Lord is coming. A Day of darkness and dense cloud is at hand.

The Day of the Lord is near, it’s coming is already known to those with eyes to see. It will be a mighty destruction instigated by the Almighty1. Great will be that Day and who will be able to endure it?

But now the Lord says: If you turn back to Me wholeheartedly with fasting, repentance and mourning for your sins, it may be I will relent and leave a blessing behind, enough for My people to make a grain or drink offering. Spare Your people, Lord4, do not expose us to shame. Why should we cry: “Where is our God?”

When that time comes, I the Lord will bring the nations to judgement2 for their crimes against My people, now scattered around the world. What are you, Lebanon, Syria and Palestine? Are you thinking to redress a supposed wrong done to you? If you try force, I will quickly make your evil intentions recoil upon your own heads3. You have already taken treasure from the Land and fought against My people, now dispersed among the nations. But I shall rouse them to leave from wherever they are now and bring them back to all of the holy Land5. They will take over your possessions and live in the regenerated Land in peace and prosperity.

The Lord roars: a mighty shout from His dwelling place6 and the heavens and the earth shudder. A huge mass appears like the dawn coming over the mountains7, such as has never been seen before and will never be again. As it strikes, fire burns everything. As it passes, flames consume all the trees and pastures. There is no escape8 and no defence as it leaps over the mountaintops, advancing into the cities, bursting over walls, smashing through windows and leaving just a devastated waste behind. Everybody writhes in anguish and their faces turn white with fear. The whole Land is ruined, burnt and desolate9, the streams are dry and all the trees and crops are lost.

Just before the Day comes, the sun will be darkened and the moon will burn blood red10. Then everyone who calls upon the one true God11 will be saved and in Jerusalem there will be survivors12, those whom the Lord has set apart.

I shall remove the Northern peril far from you and destroy them in the wastelands13, the smell of their rotting bodies will rise up from the desert.

After all that must happen, the Lord will pour out His spirit upon all mankind14 and people will see visions and dream great things.
