As the saying goes this world is not our home we are just passing through !

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Hebrews 13:14
For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.

James 4:4
You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Philippians 3:20
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

John 18:36
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”

1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

1 Peter 2:11-12
Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

Hebrews 11:16
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

Revelation 21:1-27
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Where is your home ?

hope this helps !!!

will you be ready ?

Matthew 25:1-13
“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’

7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’

9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’

12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Revelation 22:12
“Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has done.

Matthew 24:44
Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Luke 12:40
You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Luke 21:34-36
“But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

John 14:1-3
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:2
For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

Titus 2:13
Waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

Revelation 3:11
I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.

hope this helps !!!

If you were to know ( we cannot its hypothetical) that the Lord was returning on this Sunday how would you live for the next 3 days ?

What would your time look like over the next 72 hours ?

Who would you talk to and why ?

Amen. I think about Jesus return daily and desire it more than anything. I have 5 grandchildren and 2 are not saved yet. That is the only reason I hope there is another day for their salvation.
I pray that your grandchildren will find Jesus as their Savior! :)

A good meditation! Nice to see all those verses in combination.

Oh, glory to God. Another one! LoL.

Honestly. I would do the opposite of what I think many might. I'd kick back and say, "Thank God, it's over! Horray!" No more work, work, work, serve, serve, serve every stinking day of my life. I'd finally relax. I think I'd warn my family and pray for them. I think I'd notify every soul on every forum that it was coming, and then just KICK BACK and get ready for my reward, glory to God. I'd read every Heavenly account I own, and I'd start dreaming of how things are going to be now that my journey is over.

Good thread. I would start doing that today, only something tells me it will be a real bummer when nothing happens 3 days from now, LoL.

Well, an extremely pertinent question, and in my mind, a rather over-arching principle that all Christians should have engrained in their hearts and mind, day and night. I, rather shamefully, am very far from this conviction, to the point that I've often considered myself to be the seeds scattered among the weeds.

Mitigatingly though, I think that it is a rather lofty ideal, for all that we physically see and can relate to is this world, and even through it, we can appreciate at times God's goodness and providence. And thus, it's attractions are extremely alluring, and therefore it is easy and sometimes instinctive to indulge in it's enticements (even the wholesome ones), and consider this to be a practical approach to life.

But, as Paul said, we cannot fathom what God has in store for those that love Him. And, the flesh and all its desires will fade away, for that which is temporal, must be replaced by the eternal, ...and there will be no looking back.

Where am I? Home? Where is that indeed? Where was Jesus? Where is Jesus? Who is working at home or for home? What home?

"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." John 9:4-5

"And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are." John 17:11

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matt 5:14-16
