March 16, 2007by Bill Wilson, Senior KIN AnalystIs the widely reported recent rift between Russia and Iran real? Or is it a part of an overall strategy that gains Russia more power in the Middle East and gets Iran its nuclear desires? ... Those of us who have studied and observed the Russian movements in the Middle East in recent years have reason to believe that Russia and Iran have already worked out the details of completing what Iran needs to have enough nuclear technology to build what it wants to build: nuclear weapons for the peaceful purposes of Islam. The alleged spat over nonpayment by Iran could well be a ruse to convince the world that Russia is really the reasonable world partner in wanting to stop Iranian nuclear proliferation — while, behind the scenes, Russian, Chinese and Iranian scientists are putting the final touches on the final solution.Security and espionage experts at DEBKAFile say that some 100 bars of uranium were smuggled from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to Iran. DEBKAFile also reports that Iran is ready with sophisticated counter-measures to any U.N. sanctions that might be leveled. Sources at the State Department and within the government of Israel have stated from time to time that Russia has no interest in a nuclear Iran. Apparently, the Russians have assured the U.S. and Israel that they are not trying to assist Iran in building a nuclear weapon, but actions speak far louder than words. Iran has received the bulk of its nuclear technology from Russia and its missile technology from China. The reason it is important to keep an eye on these two nations lies in apocalyptic ancient prophecies. In Ezekiel 38, it's prophesied that Gog, along with Persia, Ethiopia, Libya and other nations, will come against Israel in a colossal end-time battle where the weapons will burn for seven years. Gog is widely accepted as Russia, and Persia is Iran, where Libya and Ethiopia represent northern Africa. In Zechariah 12:2 (NKJV), it's prophesied that in the latter days the Lord "will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem." Both of these biblical prophecies predict a massive battle, where in the last hour before Jerusalem is destroyed, the attacking nations will miraculously be defeated.Islam has a different picture altogether. Islam teaches that the return of Jesus Christ will be accompanied by an Islamic messiah figure, the Mahdi. Together, they will establish justice and peace on earth, also through a tremendous battle. Islamists believes that (1) Jesus Christ will return as a Muslim and will kill the remaining Jews and Christians who refuse to worship (the false god) Allah, and (2) Jesus will rule as head of the one-world government, subject to the Mahdi. The prophecy clock accelerates further when American politicians wish to pull out of Iraq, which is also the wish of Iran and Russia. In nearly all the end-time prophecies of Jews, Christians and Muslims, there are references to a huge battle. Battles are coming, and the events of the day are hastening their arrival, according to the prophets.
