Whats this... Brownlow medal on Sunday... No red carpet... How embarrassment...

Next weekend is going to be the biggest disgrace in the history of AFL/VFL with the granny at the GABBA...

And what about the AFL bringing the MCG turf to the Gabba? Surely this news must have been off-putting for the Lions before their game against Geelong, and the fact that Richmond had made it to the Granny after this news was announced. Ah Richmond the AFL's lovechild. :p

True, true. Tom Hawkins was too strong in those match-ups.

And no I don't know who won mark of the year. On another note Lachie Neale well on track to winning the Brownlow.

Rugby!!!

I believe it's the Rugby Union kind am I right? I never had a big enough build to play rugby. :D

I believe Rugby Union is bigger in NZ than Rugby League. Do you also like Rugby League though?

I am more of an AFL and soccer fan though.
I wasn't a league fan at all, played union for my province, and had never even seen a league game until I was in my thirties and got a job driving a bus load of league fans to a NZ England test series. Really enjoyed both games and when the Warriors started up became a fan. But union is in my blood. I thinks it's in all kiwis blood.

I am so sorry that my response was too broad for you.

Broad statements are no good to me. I want to know exactly why u treat me the way u do...

I would be happier if you would not post political slanted commentary, for or against Dan the Man.

Im sorry if you believe that Daniel Andrews has done a great job but you are ill informed... My posts have no political target, i'll criticize the left or the right... Most people in Melbourne are frustrated at the way this has all been handled; from the cancellation of democracy to his secrets and failures to his overhanded use of police...

What i provide are facts from Melbourne that are almost always backed up by references and my opinions which again come from the frontline and are the same opinions that most people here hold...

As a member of a non snub state, I find the attitude of Victorians generally can be off putting

So u want us to suck it up and pretend to be happy about our situation... U don't care about our hardships or about our families...

I publish the stats in a graph on Saturday for you to ponder on.
It does show that most Vic. are compliant with the Vic state directives for safe practices during this time of the pandemic.

Victorians are no different to other Aussies... We've all been following the restrictions even more than the rest cos we're all so afraid of getting fined... The inquiry has found that the state governments hotel quarantine bungle was the cause for the 2nd wave, not us.

The trouble is that people forget that they still have to comply with their safe work practices for the pandemic if they do not want a third wave to sweep Vic.

What worksafe... Most of us haven't worked since March... Expecting us all to be happy while our lives are falling around us is unrealistic.
Your are some 2,000kms over the horizon... You watch some news reports on the mainstream for a few minutes and thats it...
Im here, frontline witness, in Melbourne, actually experiencing the lockdowns with pain and sacrifices...
No one can possibly comprehend what has happened without being here and seeing it...

@Cristo Rei I had already given the stats, that something like 62% of Victorians were in favour of Dan's response to Covid.

That's an old poll held by a bias source. And it supports my claim that your info is coming from the mainstream and not from any actual experience...
My poll shows that its closer to 10%

It is not a biased source, 7 and 9 news reporters have been kind of pushing for an end to lockdown too. Well so it seems.

Cristo, I have posted no real comments on Dan the Man. It is not my place to do so since, as you have pointed out, I live over 2,000 Kms away from Victoria. We also need a change in QLD as well and we have the Labour Party occupying the Government benches since 94, except for 6 years from memory. I will vote in my electorate for the candidate who will do the least amount of damage while elected.

What you have provided as your undisputable evidence is emotive rhetoric base on sketchy fact as you have acknowledge in your post. You want Dan the Man gone and you are presenting emotional rhetoric to entice people to agree with you. The same thing that Dan the Man is doing.

So u want us to suck it up and pretend to be happy about our situation... U don't care about our hardships or about our families...

Actually, when Victorians began to realise that by not following the government directives of safe healthy practices and began to comply with them, the stats of the daily reported Covid19 virus cases, immediately became stable, but the rate at which the reported cases began to subside was relatively slow as the previously published charts on this forum shows.

upload_2020-10-19_19-14-3.png

The above graph shows that the control measures of the lock down did not begin to work until around 8-8-20 and the decay in the moving 14 day reported virus cases exhibited a classical exponential decay pattern which took around 8 weeks to properly stabilise, and since 3-10-20 the dampening of the rate of change in the moving 14 day totals has oscillated around zero. The above graph proves that when people begin to be compliant that the control measures are working.

So u want us to suck it up and pretend to be happy about our situation... U don't care about our hardships or about our families...

This quote shows your false understanding of who is actually responsible. Whatever I think has had no impact on your situation in Victoria. The only people who have had an impact on your situation are the people who live in Victoria, and more particularly those who live within the hard lockdown areas. I can have empathy for you as well as having sympathy for you, but what I think has had no actual impact on your circumstances.

Victorians are no different to other Aussies... We've all been following the restrictions even more than the rest cos we're all so afraid of getting fined... The inquiry has found that the state governments hotel quarantine bungle was the cause for the 2nd wave, not us

I agree that Victorians should be no different to other Aussies, but the facts of the matter is, that a significant number of Victorians did refused to comply with the Gov directives and as a result all of Australia have suffered hardships because of that.

What I can see from your quoted post is that you are personally hurting from the effects of the second wave and you are blaming everybody but yourself for the situation that you and other Victorians have placed yourselves in. You and the other Victorians who selfishly did not want to comply with the government directives have also hurt the rest of Australia and caused substantial financial damage to them as well as yourself.

What you are not hearing at the moment are the rest of the hurting Aussies because of the Victorian 2nd wave complaining as much as you are, but when they start, believe me you will not want to be considered as a Victorian.

Shalom

Well it's either keep it under control or get a 3rd wave?

We are not in Texas, Pensylvania, Michigan or North Carolina, where they think it's safe to hold big crowded Trump rallies. o_O

This is Australia, and I am glad we are in Australia.

UK had nearly 17,000 new cases yesterday, USA has had daily new cases in the high 60,000s in the past few days, France +29,837 new cases, Iran is the middle of their Third Wave.

Be happy that you are in Australia.

But if you are sprouting BS to everybody else, you are a threat to everyone else and as such you should be restrained from your verbal diarrhoea, to protect you and everybody else from harms way, whatever that may mean. How that restraint is imposed is not up to me or you to determine.

During a war, people with contrary views are locked up for the good of the nation, to overcome the adversary coming against us. An adversary within our ranks cannot be tolerated.

At present there are no constraints on or validation of what people are publishing as their so called "truths." Sadly, many people are believing what people are publishing on the internet and acting accordingly. They sadly have no filter to discern the garbage from the true facts.

As for Daniel Andrews, it appears that his time is going to be shortened soon, because of his inability to admit that some things could have been done better.

But to judge that his responses to the Covid19 pandemic were wrong at this present time is short sighted because not enough time has passed to make a call on that as that judgement can only be made 20 or so years out from the present time.

Politicians will tell us that they acted in good faith in the belief that they were acting appropriately, but it requires time for reflective consideration on their actions many year after they have left office before we can discern whether or not they were good for our respective states or country.

So often it is a game to those who oppose the respective governments of the day.

You're sounding like a complete tyrant--just like you did when you were talking to me in the thread I posted about the law pertaining to forced vaccination in Western Australia. I hope that you're not a government official because that would be very bad for the people under your power.

I'm wondering if your abbreviated profanity will be allowed to stay or if it will be deleted. I'm not going to report it to a moderator. Perhaps one of them will see it on his/her own and take care of it.

You sound unhinged. Maybe it's time for a break. I pray that you will be able to pull yourself together!

I din't want to block u , iv never blocked anyone but u have just been antagonizing and hostile from day 1... No need... Unhelpful... So just calm down, be like Christ...Ok

You say that im making false claims... Which ones do you disagree with?

@Cristo Rei We used to have a saying in the U.S. back in the day. Don't let the turkeys get you down. It appears that someone is trying to get you thrown off this forum. I pray that you will have God's grace not to take the bait. Perhaps a moderator will deal with this. I hope so because your voice is needed on this forum!

I think we could do without your arrogance. Victorians weren't the only ones who decided to take matters into their own hands. And nothing resulted from any of their so called 'resistance'. Just as nothing came from those in Sydney who thought it was about time to ignore the BS coming from politicians and grovelling so called healthy experts who can't agree with one another from one day to the next.
